Major respect to Hortense and her partner for having a welcoming store that's well lit, with culturally tailored products (no useless quality products), friendly demeanor, nicely organized with good memory of where the things are when you ask. The product choices range from trusted brands you may recognize from home countries and also local artisanal foods or tonics.Well done! Can you believe it? An hour later at a larger African store in the same area, I asked the shop keeper where something was and he scrunched up his face & said: "What?! Pepper sauce?? No we don't have. "The Baltimore made pepper sauce was in jars right in front of him. @_@ What a difference!Go Hortense, your family shop is definitely needed.Haha

Lovely, clean, beautiful and welcoming African grocery store. I fell in love with this store. I was lucky and please to meet the owner. She has a lot going on in this beautiful and tidy store.- African groceries and products: palm oil, flour, ginger drinks, pure honey, plantain, yam, Egusi, peanut butter, attieke, placali, clay, calaba, kaolin, frozen leaves, meat, dried leaves, meat ( kilichi). There are traditional African healing products.- Coocked good: Jollof rice, Suya…- Jewelry: waist bids, traditional necklaces, bracelets…..- Cooking pot: talier ( Ivorian plantain / vegetable gringer) , Calebasse…- There’s an ATM inside too.- They also do international money ( Western Union, Ria Transfer… )- If you want to visit an African store and try something new check this store out.- If as an African you don’t like going to African store because of workers attitude check this one out. You will love it. We need more African grocery stores like this.

Originally stopped in to ask if they had a bathroom I could use as I was waiting for my dog at the vet and now they have a lifelong customer. Great customer service and the Chin-Chin Cakes might be my new favorite treat. Will definitely be back. Stop by and check it out, you won't regret it.
