“Major respect to Hortense and her partner for having a welcoming store that's well lit, with culturally tailored products (no useless quality products), friendly demeanor, nicely organized with good memory of where the things are when you ask. The product choices range from trusted brands you may recognize from home countries and also local artisanal foods or tonics.Well done!Can you believe it? An hour later at a larger African store in the same area, I asked the shop keeper where something was and he scrunched up his face & said: "What?! Pepper sauce?? No we don't have. "The Baltimore made pepper sauce was in jars right in front of him. @_@ What a difference!Go Hortense, your family shop is definitely needed.Haha”

“This place is amazing. The owner is such a humble and great soul. I pray God bless his Buisness bountiful. The customer service is excellent I don’t know why some people are writing bad review on it. The young man helped carry my bags to my car and put them in there. He didn’t have it but he do that is extra care service. I couldn’t have done it since I had a baby with me. Also coming from east Africa, we lack our specialty foods here(USA) but I found a few things at this location from my home country it surely warmed my heart ?. Great job ?? bravo ??.”
“This Giant has been renovated and is always clean and well stocked. They have more selection than the store in Kingsview. I have also noticed that the produce is fresher and better stocked. The only negative is they have been out of the premade salads and microwaveable dinners which always used to be stocked at this location especially the pulled pork with mac and cheese and green beans.”

“I cannot believe openhandpasta only has four reviews! I also can't believe I have taken this long to leave one, considering we've been enjoying this food for months.This kitchen displays a delicate and considerate touch. Every dish is fresh and seasoned perfectly.I do have to cook the pasta longer than recommend but that may be due to local factors, easy to test a peice and confirm its where you want it.Each week a different set of dishes and it is helpful to have some skill at cooking.We order every single week now, thank you chefs!”

“Went to Caravan for the first time in a while. First thing I notice when walking up was a sign in the window that says under new management. The store was out of my usual brand of tahini (Beirut) but I asked the gentlemen at the front if he had a suggestion for an alternative. He was so kind and helpful. He took me to the shelf and told me a little bit about each of the tahini brands. He also made an excellent suggestion for grape leaves **note: they also have fresh grape leaves** the gentleman helping me shared that he is the new owner. his son was working the behind the counter. Such a lovely family, they couldn’t have been nicer! The store was clean and had all the classics. I will definitely be back for all my favorite middle eastern staples.”

“It was nice to hear "apa" (sister) after a long time! The meat was fresh, and prepared according to my instructions (they offered suggestions on how to cut it). The only drawback would be that the dry goods could be fresher. Overall nice selection of rice, desi pickles, mustard oil, dal, etc. I think I also saw prayer rugs and ladies hijabs”

I found the quality of goat and chicken to be outstanding at Madina Market. Their prices are always lower than others and quality above their competitors. “I come to this place to get meat, salt fish and other items that you won't typically find in the regular grocery stores like giant or shoppers. The employees are nice. The only problem I have is the length of time it takes to get service in the meat department. A lot of it is indecisive customers picking and choosing which piece of meat they want. It's a deterrence especially if I just want to be in and out or under time constraints.”

“I am ALWAYS astounded by the superb customer service provided by Evan at the pharmacy in Harris Teeter Copley Place. He is always pleasant and always efficient. Not only does he go above and beyond when I (foolishly) run in for a last minute Rx, but when I frantically called regarding an emergency Rx for my mother he told me to hit the highway and get there before closing. I got there close to 8pm and he processed my mother’s Rx with 10min to spare. I can’t say enough about him.

And they wanna get like a snack or a drink at a store. Also, their prices are just great. Like it's like when I'm shopping there. And I find a bag of chips. Turns out that bag of chips.Is 1.90 what a great deal some are $1? Bags of chips.”
“I came to buy some groceries and all the fridges were broken, milk was not available so one employee indicated to come the following day at 6am. I came the following day at 7am and still no milk available. A second employee asked me to come back later during the day. While she was still talking a third employee, a young one, asked me what kind of milk I needed. He stopped what he was doing and went to get one gallon of milk. Then the second employee said that he, the third employee was trying to help everybody. Is not what all the employees should do? Unfortunately I did not get the name of the third employee, he really deserves praise, and a raise for what he is doing. He really enjoys his work and keeps the customers happy.”
