We had an outstanding experience with Gramophone's Gaithersburg MD store in purchasing a pair of floor speakers, an integrated amp, and a sound node. The sales rep, Liam Wood, was extremely helpful in demonstrating several audio options and in responding to various technical questions we had over the purchase phase. When the products arrived, Liam very professionally delivered, unpacked, assembled, and tested all the components. We would highly recommend Gramophone to anyone who wishes to actually listen to audio options available and then desires exemplary customer service through the purchase.

Late last year, with the help of Gramophone, we did a major renewal and upgrade of our then 5.1 audio system, replacing the speakers, the pre/pro, and the amp. In the process, we augmented the system with 4 in-ceiling speakers, turning it into a 5.1.4 system. The outcome is a fabulous aural experience, either listening to music on its own or while watching movies, concerts, and opera.
Lee was the advisor throughout the project. I was fortunate to encounter Lee at the store one afternoon and sensed quickly that he understood what we were looking for. He was a wonderful resource as the project proceeded, drawing on his own experience and, when needed, that of various colleagues.
There were some challenging installation issues to be addressed, especially regarding the in-ceiling speakers. During the planning stage, Lee visited our home with one of Gramophone’s installation experts to ensure that the project was appropriately designed. He was there again when installation began to ensure that everything was ready. The installation team (Todd and Vince) were so easy to work with and did a great job. One sensed that they had a lot of experience and were invested in the quality of their work. And I would be remiss if I did not also acknowledge the care taken by those delivering the equipment. The top-class customer service continued after installation, with Lee very responsive to technical and other questions related to the installed equipment.
Based on our experience, Gramophone is a company well attuned to understanding the customer’s needs, delivers accordingly, and is there for the customer after the job is completed.

I purchased a BDI bar from the Gramophone location in Gaithersburg and it was a wonderful experience. Justin Adams helped with the purchase and the guys at the store were so friendly and helpful. It was so refreshing to deal with a company that puts customer service and customer satisfaction at the top of their list!

This store is amazing, especially Alec. We had a whole home audio system installed in our new house and we live in Arlington, about 1 hour away. Alex has been fantastic at always helping us with any issues as well as driving out to our home and helping us. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for home audio, especially Alec as his customer service is above anything I would have ever expected!

I've never regretted a purchase as much as the very elaborate and expensive AV system that I bought from Gramophone for my basement entertainment room. For years now, it has not worked much more than it has worked. I have had repeated service visits costing hundreds of dollars each that temporarily have fixed a problem, only to have another problem soon thereafter. As a result, my family knows that the system in the basement probably doesn't work, and we seldom visit that room. I had the same experience with an elaborate internet system that Gramophone installed that could not be repaired without a Gramophone visit, which I have since replaced myself. All of this has become a source of immense frustration and regret. The people at Gramophone are nice, and the equipment is by good companies-- so maybe I have just been unlucky. But I wouldn't buy again and wouldn't advise doing it unless you buy a service warranty for the many visits- at least in my experience that I required, which ultimately have resulted in a system that still does not function properly. I hope you have a better experience than I have.

On December 21, 2022, I had a new entertainment center set up by Gramophone. From start to finish I received exceptional service. My consultant Romario was knowledgeable, attentive and understanding of my needs and timeline. My installation was excellent, both Christian and Enzo were kind, efficient and accommodating. They treated me and my home with utmost care. Took the time to show me how to use my new entertainment system and ensured I was happy with the setup. Overall, I would highly recommend Gramophone for all your entertainment needs.

After a disappointing experience with a competitor, I reached out to Alec Hughes at Gramophone, and from our initial conversation up to install, it has been a wonderful experience. The attention to detail, promptness in response, knowledge and understanding of the need. The installation team was very professional in the work they did. I am always very weary of folks having to cut through my walls and stuff, but it's like they were never there, the workspace was left cleaner than they met it actually. To the sound experience, it is everything that was expected, the product they recommended is great and I definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to build out/upgrade a home theater system, you will not regret it

Service was excellent. Alec Baldwin took very good care of me and wife through the purchasing and installation process for Kaleidescape Terra server and player. Lots of helpful, knowledgeable staff attention for a purchases big and small… and for the long research time (I take my time). I’m a big fan of buying local and can’t recommend Gramophone and the two fellows who helped me, first Quinton and most recently, Romario, who was very helpful in letting me decide between a halide and laser projector.

We were having problems with our homemade network. Called Gramophone and they came out and created a network for us of just what we needed.The installation went very well and the guys were very friendly and professional.I would call Gramophone again.
