Diamond Square Beer & Wine should be avoided. We live in the Kentlands and my partner frequents this establishment for beer and wine. We used to live a lot closer to this place but he never stopped buying wine here. However, we will no longer give them our business nor encourage others to deal with them due to the most recent encounter on Thanksgiving with an Asian man who works there. We aren't sure if he is the owner or someone who works there. My partner was there to purchase and received a call from someone. As he was talking to the person on the phone, he said the person said they could not hear him. Not thinking, he pulled his mask down just below his nose. As soon as he did that the Asian man started yelling at him about his mask which he immediately adjusted it. However, my partner responded to the man that he didn't appreciate the man yelling at him. The Asian man threatened to call the police because of this. For what reason? In our minds, it is simply because it's easier to threaten people with law enforcement than to simply speak with decency. We are African American so we do not take the threat of calling the police lightly. No one was violent or threatening and the only person yelling and being abusive was the Asian man. He said not to come back and gladly, that will be the case. Who wants to be treated like s*** for something as minor as that which could easily have been addressed kindly instead of aggressive and escalating. I suppose he understood the threat he made of calling the police on someone black and especially a black man. We found this demoralizing, disrespectful, dangerous and YES racist. We doubt seriously that this man would speak to someone that was white in this manner nor SHOULD he speak to ANYONE in this manner UNLESS they were doing something harmful or made threats themselves. I don't know if that man was the owner. Whether he was or wasn't, I hope the owner sees this and takes stock in how they treat people. We adhere to all mask mandates and go overboard with safety including ensuring we are vaccinated. So, I understand addressing anyone who is not wearing a mask or wearing one correctly. I agree with addressing it. I do NOT agree with being abusive and threatening to call the police FOR NO REASON. They are located at Address: 38 Bureau Dr, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 Phone: (301) 987-9463

They just shut the lights off on me while I was in the store 1 minute before their actual closing time while I was reaching into the cooler to get what I came in to purchase. I asked the clerk "so I shouldn't buy anything" and he just shrugged and let me walk out. Never again. I'll pay more at Beers & Cheers.

Crazy expensive. $35 for an 18-pack of Miller Lite 12-ounce cans and a six-pack of White Claw. Also, their receipts are not itemized. Sketchy.

A six pack of Dogfish Head just cost the exact same price as it would have for buying 6 drafts. Their regional beers are 25%-50% higher than other retailers.
