Costco Gaithesburg is the worst. A couple of rude employee ruined it all...I rather drive extra miles for another one. That's how bad it is.

While most of the employees at Costco are courteous in a difficult atmosphere, I can't say the same for at least one employee in the food court. The person was masked, stocky, with gray hair. Completely disrespectful. I don't know why Costco hires some people. I have heard this same comment from others, regarding the food court employees.

My experience at this Costco has always been great. Yes, it can be overpacked on the weekend but if you go on a weekday it's generally not an issue. I can always find parking especially on a weekday. Never had an issue with customer service, either. The only thing I have an issue with is the fact that sometimes they discontinue items that I rely on. For example, they used to carry Imodium in the supplement section and now they don't. So, we just have to get used to going elsewhere and paying the higher prices.

One of the worst shopping experiences in Montgomery County. The customers are the problem. Way too many of them are rude and indifferent. They treat others like obstacles. They have low impulse control. They act quickly on their worst instincts. Ultimately, their behavior is a storewide contagion that spreads and destroys the shopping environment. Costco itself seemingly does nothing to address the problem. The store is packed, the parking lot is a nightmare, and the staff are overrun by the chaos. You'll find more order and courtesy at the international concourse of De Gaulle Airport. I write this review after witnessing the downfall of a store I used to love--a store at which I have been shopping for almost 30 years (since it was Price Club). Shopping at the Gaithersburg Costco is a terrible experience.

Unfortunate Experience at Costco Tire Wheaton: Negligence and Denial of Responsibility I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the service I received at the Costco Tire Center in Wheaton, Maryland. On October 23rd, I brought my car to the center for a routine tire rotation, and the outcome was nothing short of a troubling ordeal. While performing the tire rotation, the technicians at the center found and informed me that a lugnut and a stud on the rear left wheel of my vehicle were damaged. Over the phone, I told them that I only had the tire serviced at their center before so if there were any damages to the wheel, they must have been the fault of the center. They told me to complete a claim form and seek repairs at a different auto shop. After filling in the form, I asked two staff members and got confirmation from them that I could go ahead with the repair and could return to Costco Tire Center with a receipt for reimbursement. I complied with their instructions, and on October 24th, I had the damaged components fixed by a Firestone shop at a cost of $350. Eager to have this issue resolved, I revisited the Costco Tire Center in Wheaton on October 27th, expecting to have the tires properly rotated and to receive the promised refund for the repair costs. To my dismay, the staff and the manager at Costco Tire Center attempted to avoid their responsibility and dragged their feet in addressing my concerns. They cited the need to review security camera footage to confirm the agreement made regarding repair and refund, as well as claimed that my case required higher management intervention. Furthermore, I was informed that another lugnut and stud on the same wheel were found to be in poor condition, and they refused to perform the tire rotation. It's important to note that I had purchased my tires from this same center in September 2022, and they had been exclusively serviced by Costco Tire Center for rotation. The implication is clear: any damage to the lugnuts and studs must have occurred during their previous service visits. This situation is not only exasperating but also erodes the trust I once had in Costco Tire Center in Wheaton. It's worth mentioning that this is not an isolated incident. In March, the same center caused a similar problem, but at that time, they promptly acknowledged their mistake and refunded me for the repair. While it inconvenienced me, I appreciated their commitment to rectify their error. However, this time, their conduct has been nothing short of evasive, casting doubt on their willingness to uphold the service commitment associated with the tire package I purchased from them. I strongly urge other customers to carefully reconsider conducting business with this center. My experiences have left me deeply dissatisfied, and it is apparent that they need to address their negligence and stand by their service commitments.

If you see it at Costco, buy it because it won't be there later. It's a nice & clean store to shop.

Thank you Pei for assisting us with an executive membership! It was our first time in Costco as members. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it took about two hours to shop at Costco. There were too many carts on aisles, blocking the end of the first four aisles, and had trouble finding some items because of that. I'm not sure if it's always this busy or if it was because it was the last day of sales. During our visit, we waited a while to try a sample of Motor City Pizza. I had to argue my way that I've been waiting by the stall for 20 minutes before the line even formed. When it came to checking out, we tried the self checkout. We spent $180 on 16 items including Almond Butter, Asaro Castelvetrano Olives, Azuma Seaweed Salad, Balance Grow Honey Citron & Ginger Tea, Boursin Cheese, Del Real Foods Birria and Cheese Pupusa, Made Good Granola Snacks, Motor City Pizza Co. Pepperoni Pizza, Pure Organic Fruit Bar, Spindrift Sparkling Water, Sunberry Farms Organic Guava Nectar, Veggie Made Great Spinach Egg White Frittata, Waterloo Sparkling Water. Next time, we'll have to try Sole Bonta Muffuletta Olive Salad, Popcorners, Quakers Rice Crisps, Bellavita Cabernet Sauvignon Cheese, Gayo Azul Cojita Cheese, Har-Chef Crispu Potato Corn Dogs, Maple Leaf Farms Roast Duck, Nuchar Cooked Octopus, Pasta Primavera Spinach & Mozzarella Ravioli, Rambutan, Rana Maine Lobster Ravioli, Ruprecht Irish Stew, Sogel Mussels with Garlic Butter, Starbucks Sous Vide Egg Bites, Taylor Farms Apple Pecan Salad Kit, and Taylor Farms Dill Pickle Chopped Salad Kit.

This location is definitely in need of an overhaul, it simply cannot support the amount of pedestrian or vehicle traffic. It is better than Wheaton but it is total chaos and the parking structure legitimately looks unsafe and not maintained. There is also something off with the internal layout of the store, they simply tried to cram too much in this location. I've also had a number of very unpleasant interactions with staff at this location. They aggressively try to upgrade your membership in the self checkout, beyond the normal walk up and ask if you would like to go executive. I have also been the recipient of and seen their staff yell at customers. Recently waiting in line behind an older couple to use the self checkout. I get yelled at for not cutting them and going to an open machine, rather than the employee ask if the couple in front need assistance or help because she couldn't be bothered to do some form of customer service. I come out of necessity but hope someone from Costco corporate does a visit and takes a look around. The customer service is terrible and there shouldn't have to be a police car parked in the middle of the road to keep people from crashing into each other to get in and out.

Bought the stuffed salmon and it was bad. I wasn't going to write a review but saw another Yelper who had a similar experience with the meats and felt compelled to flag it seems this isn't a one time thing. People are going to get sick if this Costco keeps playing roulette with the quality of food they're selling

My elderly mother who is disabled was treated like a criminal by Costco associates. They were forcing us to buy a new membership. My mother has been shopping at the store for years with or without my dad. My dad's health has gotten worse after COVID, so he does not want to go out much. My mother has been going to shop at the Costco using his card. She never had a problem before. Recently Costco started enforcing zero exceptions to the rule. I have no issue if Costco want to enforce draconian measures to make sure everyone has memberships. The problem I have is that they should check the membership at the time of entry into the store. They have people at the entry who should be checking the membership but at Gaithersburg, MD store they simply handout flyers. It's not fair to people with physical disability like my mother who went through the entire store to get groceries only to be treated like a criminal by the cashier at the checkout. She walked slowly and with pain in her knees to get the essentials for your shopping. When she got to the cashier, she was told that her name did not match on the card, so she must purchase a new membership or leave. Very predatory business practice. Not fair to disable people.

I am surprised I haven't been run over by a car or a shopping cart at this Costco. The parking lot is chaotic and the store is just as hectic during peak hours and peak shopping days (i.e. Saturdays and Sundays). I suggest going during the weekday versus the weekend, if possible. If you do decide to go on a shopping trip here, be prepared to maneuver your huge cart around the aggressive shopping cart drivers in store and enjoy picking up really great finds in bulk at a great price. You can find almost everything imaginable at Costco, which includes brand name clothes, books, household items, car supplies, food, pet supplies, furniture, etc. You can't beat the prices here and I'm sure if you're someone who shops in bulk, you will be well prepared for the next pandemic or have your doomsday bunker fully stocked with enough toilet paper, paper towels, and food to get you through. In fact, I took a trip at this location today and found (and purchased) more things that I wanted than needed on my shopping list. One thing I did find but did not purchase was a camping tent that fit 10 people and came with room dividers and a light switch with 3 different light modes. I mean, come on, where else can you find a tent like this for $200? Only at Costco. Despite the chaos, you always come out of Costco with a great deal and awesome products.

Sold rotten steak, butcher flipped rotten steak over so it hid the spoiled side but still packaged it to be sold.
