Had a terrible experience today, wanted to test drive an M440i and consider trading in my car (BMW), but the lady was so rude and non-accommodating.
I didn't even drive the car, because I ended up hating the experience so much. Will not be returning to CarMax.

The associates or employees were professional, confident, and friendly. I came for getting an appraisal for my vehicle to see it's value, and I left that very same evening with an appraisal. They provide good customer service and were helpful in getting straight to the point. The wait time can sometimes be a little long, but I noticed this because it was simply a matter of having lots of customers in the building at once on a crowded day. From what I noticed, the staff were efficient and the system is well run and organized.

Not feeling super satisfied with my experience here overall. The car I purchased had several issues as soon as it was off the lot that I had to schedule a time to come back and get fixed. A warning light was on, there was damage to part of the framing, the air filters were filthy, and part of my spare tire kit was missing. Additionally, the website advertises a “deep clean” as a part of the preparation process, but the vehicle was still very dirty inside once the purchase process was finalized, which was very frustrating. The “wash” on the outside also appeared very rushed as there were water streaks all over the car exterior. To exacerbate my frustration, the salesman who processed my purchase has been unresponsive to my attempts to contact him about these concerns, which made the resolution process much more complicated and time consuming on my end.
I will mention, however, that my in-person experiences with the business office and service department were positive and I appreciated the kindness and attention of those employees. But overall, my experience with this location left something to be desired on several levels.

Although Carmax did a great job of some the things that needed doing, they didn’t do everything I asked of them and everything they agreed to do.

CarMax was the best experience I’ve ever had in the car industry. I was out of there in an hour on a busy Saturday. All your employees are SOOO nice and I felt so comfortable especially as a woman alone ( not usually the case in the car industry) thank you CarMax!!!!’nn

Ruth at the Gaithersburg location was amazing. Her efficiency, attention to detail, and customer service was amazing. She gave me all information of what was going to happen up front, and everything happened as she said it would, in the time she said it would happen. She was great to work with and I really appreciated her making my experience with Carmax enjoyable.

The amount of care and dedication, excellent communication and going the extra mile Ken and his team did made for a exceptionally good time here at Carmax Gaithersburg. I already have friends who are looking to buy vehicles and they will be coming to this location to purchase them after I had such an amazing experience with exceptional customer service. You can expect to be greeted with a smile when you enter the building, we were introduced and walked over to the beverages and refreshments, that simple act of walking someone over to the refreshments area is a great step in exceptional customer service. I could go into details about how well and easy the entire process was to purchasing the vehicle to make it short we were in and out in less than 2 hours, signed sealed and driving off the lot with the new vehicle. 10 out of 10 would do this again.

We went to buy a car at 7-8pm tonight, we were told we could browse, and cars are locked. We asked what if we wanted to test drive. The gentleman told us that everyone was "pretty tied up right now"..... Okay, so we browsed and left without a car. ?♀️

This place is screwed up. I tried to buy a $55k truck. Did all paperwork no one called. I called to see what happened and they apologize. Ok, then I spent 45 minutes did everything they wanted. Never heard from them again so I guess they are not interested in selling vehicles. STAY AWAY!!!
