We worked with Mike Bliss at the Gaithersburg location to completely renovate our kitchen. Mike helped us make a very functional, but also beautiful kitchen. I love the custom color of my cabinets. I also love all the storage options. Truly a special space in our home!

Cabinet Discounters Review.
Cabinet Discounters is fantastic and they and their subcontractors did extremely high quality work on our new kitchen. All of the work was completed in a timely fashion and on schedule—there were no delays. The resulting product is very beautiful and functional.
At our very first meeting with Marie Gignilliat at Cabinet Discounters Gaithersburg, MD showroom it was clear that we made the right choice. Marie was very patient and listened carefully to what we wanted. She also guided us through the process. After our meeting, Marie developed a design that worked very well in our 1950’s Cape Cod house. She included features that we would have never thought of on our own and she designed a layout that was more useful and functional than our current kitchen. Once we had a plan, Marie helped us with choosing the right cabinetry, color, countertop and hardware and all within our budget.
The project started on schedule and our first contractor was Brent from Brentwood Builders. Brent methodically deconstructed our old kitchen and removed all the cabinetry and appliances. During the deconstruction phase, Brent found that the old dishwasher had leaked damaging the floor underneath that Brent repaired without a delay in the schedule. When the new cabinets arrived Brent expertly installed them and the new appliances. Speaking of appliances, Marie recommended ADU appliances in Gaithersburg, Our sales person was Kenneth Cochran and he too provided expert service. It was essential that we choose our appliances early on in the process so that Marie could incorporate them in to the design. After we made our choices, Kenneth alerted us that the appliances that we were thinking about were on sale several months before we needed, them. Kenneth arranged to have delivery of the appliances deferred and that allowed us to take advantage of the sale without having the appliances on site. Brent found the dishwasher leak two days before the appliance delivery and Kenneth was able to find a dishwasher and have it delivered with the other appliances averting a long delay to completing the project. I cannot speak highly enough of Brent and Kenneth.
Next Debbie and Alex (Debbie’s assistant) from Tri-Star Electricians worked on the the electrical part of the project installing new outlets, switches, installation of under cabinet lighting and rough-in for the dishwasher and garbage disposal that were “specked” in Marie’s plan. Debbie is not only a highly skilled technician but an outstanding engineer. She made some terrific suggestions about lighting options and other electrical issues with our old house.
I don’t know the names of the counter top installers or fabricators from Creative In Counters, but they too were extraordinary craftsmen and the installed counters fit perfectly.
The last phase of the project was installation of the tile backsplash by Benito. Like Brent and Debbie; Benito approached the project in workman-like manner and beautifully installed the tile work.
Brent, Debbie, Benito, counter top installers and the plumbers (Larry and Vince) at the end of each day left the worksite impeccably clean.
I also want to point out that the team at Cabinet Discounters (George, Lorie, Marie and others) did an outstanding job at making sure the project was on time and scheduling the various craftsman for this project. We the home owners felt we were very much a part of the team.
The bottom line: I would highly recommend Cabinet Discounters to family, friends and others. We will definitely use Cabinet Discounters for future projects.

I would definitely recommend Cabinet Discounters for a kitchen renovation! Tess Moran, our designer, was wonderful to work with. Many other businesses were quick to dismiss me or present a ridiculously expensive quote for my 12ft by 12ft kitchen. However, Tess treated my kitchen project with as much attention and care as a much larger kitchen renovation project. So grateful and very happy with the finished product, thank you!

We are 100% satisfied with a Cabinet Discounters kitchen remodel. Our designer, Tess Moran, was quick to get the feel for what we needed, both practically and aesthetically. She presented us with great options, but let us be the ones to come up with a kitchen that was truly ours. The project proceeded on schedule. All the tradesmen were professional, friendly, and competent Most of them have been working with Cabinet Discounters for years. Tess was present and supportive the whole way.

We worked with Tess Moran on our kitchen remodel last year and it came out so well that we returned to her for vanities for our bathroom remodels (2). Ever the perfectionist, the measurements were so good that even the contractor noted how precise they were and how it made his work easier. The vanities she helped me pick out for each bathroom, and most especially the countertops, are absolutely beautiful.

We recently worked with Mike Bliss from Cabinet Discounters to design our brand new kitchen as part of a larger renovation project. Mike brought great insights and ideas to make the most of our kitchen and within our budget. He was responsive to questions and quick to offer ideas for us to consider based on his expertise and years of experience in this industry- all without pressuring us into decisions or choices that were not right for us. When our project hit an unanticipated delay, Mike was gracious and worked with suppliers to ensure they understood the issue and accommodated our delay without additional expense or worry to us. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Mike and incredibly pleased with the quality of our new kitchen!

I cannot rate the cabinets yet, as we just ordered them. What I can rate is the incredible service we received from Marie Gignilliat at the Gaithersburg location. We were indecisive, budget constrained, unknowledgeable and all over the place with ideas. Marie was able to walk us through the process with incredible patience, expertise and professionalism. Her knowledge of the product and design coupled with her exuberance and obvious joy in what she does made working through our kitchen design so much more enjoyable and affordable than I ever could have imagined. I would recommend anyone looking for design ideas/help to get to Cabinet Discounters in Gaithersburg and insist upon Marie to create your dream kitchen.

When we finally decided to replace our 30+ year old kitchen countertop, we shopped several local companies. From the moment we walked into the Cabinet Discounters showroom , we were impressed. They greeted us and introduced us to an experienced designer, Tess. She gave an overview of the process and our options without ever pressuring us. Tess was patient and helped us select products and finishes that complemented our existing cabinets. She answered all the questions we had and gave us confidence. If she didn’t have an answer right away, she researched it for us. The installation process itself went smoothly, just as she described. Tess visited to check the finished installation and even helped us select wall paint. We are very happy with our beautiful kitchen as well as our experience with Tess and the whole CDI team. We definitely recommend them without hesitation.

I haven't even ordered my cabinets yet but didn't want to waste any time in posting a review because Marie G. is absolutely fabulous! If someone else is reading this trying to figure out where to go, look no further!
Marie has been so upbeat and friendly and patient while I'm still figuring out all the many details like countertops/appliances/flooring/backsplash tile/and even heating replacement. She had such a gentle way of checking in to see if I was ready to talk cabinet design that I never felt pressured -- only supported.
When we finally sat down to look at cabinets, I thought because of my very small kitchen that it would be a pretty short conversation -- but Marie truly wanted to make sure I knew all my options and showed me so many variations and possibilities and talked through the pros/cons of each to let me decide what would work best for me and how my family cooks and gathers. From sink styles that would yield extra room for large pots by shifting the faucet, to hinge styles that would allow extra clearance, to explaining options to solve a tight corner (and my primary work station) and so much more -- she went above and beyond -- I felt like a princess as I kept asking if I was taking up too much of her time and she reassured me that she loves her job and helping people. It shows!
She is a true partner and is the only reason my kitchen plans are progressing on many levels as she had insight on appliances and other things, too! Many thanks to Marie G. I can't wait to place my order soon.

We are so happy with our decision to use Mike Bliss at Cabinet Discounters. We were really inexperienced with kitchen design and Mike walked us through all of our options very patiently. He even squeezed us in for an appointment when he was headed out of town on vacation. The product is beautiful and we are very pleased with the entire process.

He listened to everything we said and incorporated our wishes into the design. He made suggestions that added functionality. This is a review about the power of a strong team, and the satisfaction of collaboration in a successful kitchen renovation. There are few projects as overwhelming, but with the right team few that are also as gratifying.
We had lived in our home for about four years before deciding it was time to remodel our outdated, dark, and closed-in kitchen. We also decided to serve as the general contractors for the project (yes, it can be done; read on).
We visited at least five kitchen design and cabinet companies in the area, and met with about the same number of contractors to help us think through space configuration, materials, and construction considerations. Just as importantly, we sought affinity with a working group that shared our commitment to outstanding design, construction, and quality, along with respect for our budget.
We found those with the team of Marie Gignilliat at Gaithersburg Cabinet Discounters; Tim Duncan, the general contractor and owner of AKS Services LLC; and Brent Johnson, an independent carpenter in the area who works closely with Cabinet Discounters.
Marie's creative vision, expertise, and flexibility in meeting our evolving ideas created a perfect blend of utility and stunning kitchen design. Perhaps most gratifying to us is that she was a true creative partner, enthusiastic in helping us to think through details and options, embracing our good ideas and gracefully steering us away from the not-so-good ones, offering innovative solutions and materials that would enhance the space, working after hours as we deliberated on the plans together, and staying on budget. In all aspects she is a creative force, and a great collaborator.
Tim's construction expertise complemented and enabled Marie's vision, helping us to see not only what was possible in the space and the budget, but also what might be achieved with some creative changes (some of which we initiated, many of which he suggested). He worked closely with Marie throughout, and his team was efficient, skilled, and careful inside the house. He was on site-every day, either doing the work himself or carefully guiding his team. Importantly, they were spot-on with our budget; our only variances came from items that we asked for as the project went along. He also is tied in with the various trades in the region, and introduced us to vendors for countertops and lighting that saved money while sustaining choice and quality.
Brent Johnson installed the cabinets; in all the house projects we have done over three decades, he stands out as the most meticulous, deliberate, and efficient craftsmen we have worked with. It was a pleasure to see his exacting approach, and the results are evident in the outstanding fit and function of our cabinets. He says little, but his work speaks volumes.

Tess Moran was excellent in her design and her customer service skills. She walked us through the process and helped us choose a design for our bathroom that was absolutely beautiful. I met Tess Moran who I immediately thought to myself, this representative really knows her stuff…1st impressions are something you only get one chance at and she “nailed it” She was extremely thorough in explaining the product I had that was in dire need of either replacement or resurfacing. Her patience, empathy and true concern for me, the customer is a dwindling art, however Tess provided me with a level of customer satisfaction that as a customer I’d come back to Cabinet Discounters first. You see Tess wasn’t able to make the sale but what she did was made a customer for life and any cabinetry needs I have or a friend has, I will always suggest Cabinet Discounters be their first stop. Because of Ms Morans, “Tess’” exceptional customer service and sales skills, I’d say Cabinet Discounters has a definite KEEPER!
