Worst experience ever…two tables seated (total of 6 people) when our party of two arrived. It took a while to get water, much longer for our drinks. I expected something more flavorful from a Spanish restaurant serving Sangria - no taste. We placed our order and waited quite some time, at which point we were the only table still waiting on food. They brought out one of our two entrees. Because our plan was to split both, we decided to start eating as sending it back would have delayed the arrival of food even more. Fair is the best I can say to describe the chicken and waffles; the waffle was barely warm and the chicken overdone. Our crab omelette with Beurre Blanc sauce was horrible. The sauce was positively runny, like water, with no flavor, and the entire plate was soaked with the sauce. The best thing was a bowl of fresh fruit. While waiting for food, I noticed how dirty and unkempt the dining room was, making me very suspicious about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Our plates were never removed until I moved them to the adjoining table. After reading so many glowing reviews, we were sorely disappointed. We will not be returning!

Delicious Tapas with decent service. Good wine and drink selections. We typically go during restaurant week when they have specials. Otherwise, we do feel that some of their Tapas selection are a bit overpriced.Parking: Plenty of parking all around the building

The fried calamari is great. Get it with chip aioli. Their tapas a generously portioned. Great blue cheese stuffed olives too ! The dining room has a very non intimate , impersonal feel to it. I always sit at the bar because of that. It’s like your in a giant fishbowl. I don’t know how else to explain it. But come here and go sit at the bar. Great happy hour !

We came with a 20+ person party. The staff and server were more than accommodating. The food was tasty. Lots of street parking on a Saturday afternoon during restaurant week.

A surprise winner!Small plates and cocktails have been excellent across 3 visits. Each dish well-executed for what it was. Craft cocktails are well-balanced and not weak.I also tried happy hour. Drink discounts were welcome, but the HH portions of food were less satisfying / less good. I'd recommend ordering small plates off the regular menu instead.Full disclosure, I expected this place would be mediocre and hadn't bothered checking it out though it's been open for some time.Suburban restaurants around here all seem be made from a few molds: crowd-pleasing chains, over-hyped but mediocre white tablecloth dining, casual "exotic" cuisines, fast food, or sports bars.Ranazul's sort of cuisine-forward "adult" dining is surprisingly rare despite the county's affluence (and that kind of dining being the norm in the city). This is located in the "downtown" part of Maple Lawn, with street parking right outside, and large parking lots nearby. Very roomy, airy dining room with lots of natural light.Only real quibble: these are small plates (more appetizer-sized) rather than mediterranean style tapas one would expect from the description (which would be much smaller and cheaper). Just keep that in mind when ordering.

I had Ranazul on my radar for a while, but kept putting it off. Tonight we got to try it. We had mixed feelings... We were seated right away (with reservation). The dining area is spacious, but lacks character. There was a nice crowd, on the light side. Our waitress did come within minutes of us being seated. However, she was not very attentive throughout our meal. We had to give her the stern glance or call her over more than once or twice. Our food was very flavorful. My compliments go out to the chef. (I believe the exec chef is Hispanic like me). Our steaks were cooked as ordered, and the taste was very good. Hubby got the Prix Fixe menu, and his pear salad was pretty good. Portions aren't huge though, so be aware. We shared the chocolate lava dessert. It is small, so if you still have a normal dessert craving after the meal, order one dessert per person. The prices are on the higher end. We paid about $120( less tip) for our meals, one coffee and a glass of wine.

Great, slightly upscale place for tapas and classic American fare. Tried the chicken sandwich for lunch today, it arrived piping hot and juicy. Pickles would be a great addition.Parking: Plenty of parking spaces in the surrounding lots, as with most of the places in Maple Lawn.

I am from Mexico City, but their Tortilla Soup has been the Best Tortilla Soup I have ever had! Including back home! All other dishes were amazing too. I definitely recommend them. Their 3 course $45 menu is worth it!

I've dined in the area so many times and finally stopped into Ranazul. My friend and I celebrated a job promotion. We got there right around 5 PM and shortly after the bar was packed. We ordered everything from the calamari, ceviche, salmon avocado sashimi, pork stroganoff, and their shrimp orzo. The sashimi was delicious and plenty of fish per dish. The stroganoff was really good with the tender pork tenderloin and mushroom sauce. My friend and I agreed the shrimp orzo was one of the best dishes. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the orzo with the brown butter sauce makes this dish a must order. Service here was perfect. Even with a full bar we were served really quickly. This is a fun place to enjoy some drinks and yummy tapas.

I had the opportunity to try Ranazul on Saturday. I understand that Howard County is having a restaurant week, but this does not excuse the poor quality of food. The first dish that I tried was the beef tacos. The flavor of the meat was excellent, and the caramelized onions were a nice touch. However, the tortilla needed to be cooked longer, and the salsa served was a generic brand salsa like Chi-Chi’s. The second dish I tried was the Peruvian chicken. The garlic-heavy sauce was decent, but the chicken was drier than a summer month in Nevada. The third dish I tried was the chicken alfredo. Not only was the chicken dry, but the only flavor it had was the char from the skillet. The alfredo sauce tasted like Bertolli brand with no salt or pepper, and the noodles were not al dente. The person I was with ordered the Crunchy Honey Soy Shrimp, Crispy Chicken, and the Salmon Medallion. None of the dishes they tried were worth finishing. The waitress was young and nice but had no clue about the bar options and had to continuously ask a coworker about the different drink options. Overall disappointing experience, and I 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This is the most incredible restaurant in Maple Lawn! Above 5 Stars, always above imagination! A hidden gem. Every Tapa dish is a unique creation, the service is genuine and personable. The food is not just delicious; the Buttery Shrimp Orzu takes you to a new planet, the Pork stroganoff is creamy and smooth. A serious celebration of the art of food!

Even though they participate in HoCo restaurant week and I’ve been a fan of Ranazul, today was a bit disappointing. The grilled chicken sandwich was kind of bland and had nothing special about it. The soup was spicy, which helped, but it was like any other chicken tortilla soup
