This practice is better suited for someone with minimal skin issues or only desire some cosmetic changes. I was very excited to have a black dermatologist that went to Howard (my alma mater), but my experience was not what I had hoped. Firstly, I made an appointment with Dr. Rodney and gave the office extensive notes on my previous dermatology visits. I saw Kayla Trinha first who showed great bedside manner. But ultimately I saw Dr. Rodney for all of five minutes after waiting over 45 minutes in the patient room by myself after Kayla left. After the visit, I was put on doxycycline for two months and saw no progress. I then saw Kayla Sinha again where she explained that my next options are to go to another clinic. I never saw Dr. Rodney during that appointment and communication after that was through the front desk on the portal. I had to directly ask the people on the portal what derm they recommended as that wasn’t explained in the last visit. I just felt if Dr. Rodney truly cared about her patients she would have sent a direct referral to a person who specializes in the condition she diagnosed me with and ask if I wanted to share my medical information to be released to the new doctor she would recommend. She could have directly talked to the doctor. She should have really tried to make sure my next transition was smooth. The single most important aspect of good bedside manner is taking the time to listen to your patient. I clearly came in to get some direction to manage my symptoms. I felt that I got the “well, figure it out” or “try someone else” attitude once the doxycycline didn’t work. I also felt very discouraged on the phone with her as she insinuated that I may not ever find answers to put me in remission for my condition. The only reason I am not giving up is because of my science background (PhD) and I have many MD friends. I just feel bad for the people who don’t have any science background and have serious skin issues who might take the lack of genuine care from Dr. Rodney to heart.

I had a pleasant experience visiting Dr Rodney at Eternal Dermatology. I had been experiencing some skin and scalp issues and over the counter products were not working. I was able to call and schedule an appointment which was seamless. Dr Rodney educated me on what the issues were I was experiencing and was able to quickly call in several prescriptions to my pharmacy. She gave me thorough instructions on how to use the prescriptions and I am already noticing the skin and scalp issues resolving. The location was easy to access with ample parking and the office was clean and comfy. The staff were super pleasant and explained all policies to me in detail. I would definitely recommend Eternal Dermatology and will be using them for all of my dermatology concerns moving forward.

This is a very scary time for me. I have bald spots and I have never experienced this before. Where do I go? Who can I turn to. Getting past making the appointment process was a little confusing but worth it. The time was well spent. They were very comforting and explained every step. Explained the diagnosis in a way that even I understood what she was saying. They gave me options of treatment to allow me to choose what was most comfortable. The Doctor even thanked me for trusting her. That touched my heart and my soul. This was Gods response to my prayers.

I had an amazing experience at the Eternal Dermatology Aesthetics Center. Dr. Rodney was very personable and professional. She assured me that my DPN removal would not hurt and continued to let me know that it would be fun. She was right it didn’t hurt at all. Although I am extremely dramatic she was calm and made me laugh. I will definitely return back to try a few other services. Thank you for creating this space.

My experience at Eternal Dermatology was great. From the time I got there the customer service was very welcoming. They gave me all the forms I needed and explained thoroughly what I was going to sign. Then I meet Dr. Rodney who further explained the best options for me. From Dr. Rodney recommendations I made a decision and after 9 days I saw results. Thanks again for your service Dr Rodney and Eternal Dermatology.

Dr. Rodney is one of the best doctors I've ever come across! She is highly trained and covers a really wide range is skin issues. She is also SO personable and really takes the time to explain things. You dont feel rushed and you learn so much. The office is modern, with great decor, spacious and bright. Another thing that stands out is the staff, they are professional, warm and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I had my first appoitnment at Eternal Dermatology today. Admittedly I was very emotional (went in for a hair loss consultation) and every staff member was kind and understanding. I was given clear information, first steps and costs associated, and secondary treatment steps with costs I could plan for if it came to additional intervention. That being said, I appreciated the timeliness of my appointment, the thoroughness and the transparency surrounding costs and options. I feel like I'm in good hands on this journey and am very glad a friend recommended that I go to Eternal Dermatology

From the moment I walked through the door, I was impressed. Dr. Rodney’s office has the feel of a spa, and her staff is very welcoming and professional. Dr. Rodney entered the room with a warm smile and began my appointment with clear and honest information. She was extremely thorough with my procedure, and my results far surpassed what I have experienced with other doctors in the past. I have now had about 5 appointments with her, and every time, I leave feeling as though I have just been to the spa. I highly recommend Dr. Rodney.

I do not typically write reviews unless the experience was extraordinary. My visit to Eternal Dermatology was that; professional, caring and informative. As a black woman, respectful patient care is important and I received this from ton Dr. Rodney and Freida, my medical esthetician. My 16 yr old son, accompanied me on this visit and commented that he appreciated that it was female run business. He was also able to comfortably ask questions of the doctor who patiently answered his questions given his interest in the medical field. There were 2 satisfied clients today!

I went to Eternal Dermatology on the recommendation of a friend to get a second opinion on a skin condition and the entire experience did not disappoint! The reception staff is welcoming and efficient when you arrive and I was seen right on time. Kayla, the very knowledgeable and professional PA came in first and I was very impressed with her level of proficiency. After that, Dr. Rodney came in to speak with me and address my concerns. Her warm, confident “bedside manner” is impeccable and she totally put me at ease about my concerns. I am appreciative of this stellar practice above any doctor’s office I have EVER visited for myself or family members. I am particularly proud that the entire practice is operated by people of color; not because it is is run well for a business owned by people of color but because it operates on the highest standards of any medical practice. Dr. Rodney and team are top notch!

This is not an unfortunate review, this is an honest review. I have researched for dermatologist in my area of MD for a while and I just wasn't satisfied. So it starts off with just making sure Dr. Rodney is in network which she was but her profile on my insurance carrier's website does not list the same accolades and achievements as the voice messaging system does when on hold to speak to someone. And the profile was very blank and no detailed information. Scheduling a simple consultation online was very confusing and not detailed as some of the other services. So when attempting to call and schedule I was advised that there is an initial cost and the name of the service which is not listed on the website. Though offered assistance for scheduling over the phone I was told I would need to provide a debit/credit card which any medical office should not be required from a patient until present and that what I have experienced. So when I refused that assistance, I was offered assistance to schedule online but would still need to provide my financial information. This practice to acquire me as a new patient was a turn-off. Plus now reading through majority of the good and bad reviews, I am glad I DECLINED to move forward with this office. Seems like the doctors in this office are losing their since of compassion and understanding of what they went into this particular area of medicine as the Medical perspective area in general does not have many that have the same varying brown skin hues that I would fall into. From one business person to another every little detail counts and matters when you least expect it.

I was so happy to visit this young black doctor when I went for my visit for hair loss. The assistant took pictures of my hair. Then Dr. Rodney came in and took one look at me and said my hair is falling out because of my age. I asked her what could I do, she told me what product to get and use it but if I stopped my hair would come out again. Dr. Rodney never touched my hair, she did not pick up a strain to see if there was any breakage. She did not examine my scalp. She did not check to see how much of my hair was being lost or to see whether it was coming out by the roots or asked me about any medical conditions or medicines I was putting into my body. She simply looked at me in a minute or less and told me my hair was coming out because I am old. I made an appointment for skin consultation in a couple of weeks. It will cost me $200 out of pocket. When I made the appointment the office staff quickly deducted the payment for the consultation from my bank account even though the appointment is a few weeks away. Why should I see this doctor if she is only going to tell me I have skin problems because I am old? The consultation fee should not be deducted until day of the appointment. The examine should be thorough and at least 10 minutes. Dr. Rodney should advertise that Eternal Dermatology business is only for people who are of a certain age--young, healthy, educated, working with only minor skin or hair problems. Old people, retirees, people of this age should not expect doctors to be too concern with health, physical appearance, and mental conditions. In other words, senior citizens, save your little bit of money and take care of yourself as long as you can.
