Amazing place. As a manual orthopedic physical therapist, I can say that these guys are on top of their game. Both personally as a client, and for my patients, I have faith in their judgment when it comes to helping you achieve your goals. And if you hit a snag (say, due to an injury) they are creative at working around it. They have a passion for what they do and have a unique, holistic approach. These guys aren't giving you a few generic exercises and sitting back to watch. They are detail oriented, involved at every step, and exceptional at analyzing movement. They are top notch people with a top notch approach. I highly recommend!

I'm a nearing 70 YO male who had a few start & stop exercise / conditioning / wellness attempts that failed over the years. I checked out Core Works in Maple Lawn last fall, primarily because of it's close to home location. I signed up after touring the place & hearing the available programs - especially the personal training sessions because I knew I didn't know how to properly exercise & how to do it safely. I was matched up with Randall James, a certified professional trainer & to whom I would award 5 Stars. His coaching & instruction took into consideration my age & some minor physical limitations. I agree about one previous comment about folks going barefoot, socks, etc. I't a philosophical concept of their's that I couldn't abide by, but a pair of minimus running shoes addressed that concern. I'm now exercising on my own after 30 training sessions with Randall. This is all a part of keeping off the 60 pounds I've managed to keep off for 2+ years & am no longer a Type II diabetic.

I did not take classes here so my review is not based on them. This gym's one positive is that it's pretty inexpensive. I did not care for this gym at all. There is zero energy in the place. If there is music playing its quiet. The batteries for the remotes controls for TVs are frequently dead. It is difficult to even watch TVwhile on cardio equipment because they are small, not all HD and there is no headphone option. Often times TVs next to each other are on different channels making impossible to hear either. There is not a good star climber. There is only one decent bike. The pin loaded equipment is old, possibly old enough to drive! On an early visit, one of the staff asked me how I got in!! I was furious. I get it if he doesn't recognize me but how about welcoming me instead of making me feel like a criminal. Frequently out of towels. Locker room is straight out of the '80s. That thing needs some updating. It could also use a good cleaning . Lots of green algae growing on the grout.

Small class sizes with both the owner Fran and her daughter Sara teaching classes. The recovery class taught by Sara at the Laurel location is amazing. I have attended two classes thus far and one was on Monday while the other was on Friday. The classes were perfect for starting and ending the week. Its very difficult to explain, one has to go there to experience the class but its amazing how Sara is able to demonstrate the exercises, in a calm and inviting environment.

It's not a great gym. My fault for not asking for a full tour of the men's locker room (basically a walk in closet) with space for 2 people at a time, as well as looking over the machines. Some just don't function properly, and others just don't turn on at all. This is also the one gym that charges quarterly, and I think it's a trap from when you first view over all the equipment.
