CLOSING EARLY?You advertise on your website you are open until 6 and yet you close an hour early. We drove all the way from silver spring to visit your establishment just to show up to locked doors. This was a waste of our time and gas. As an established business, I'd expect you'd be professional and stick to your business hoursDO BETTER.

This is the way vintage should be done: Tastefully and artfully. The owner was fabulous, and the store was just fun to be in. We went back again two hours after the first time!

Out of all of the shop keepers and caretakers in Frederick that I’ve met while touring the city, I have to give Jennifer and Eddie 100% props for being the most enthusiastic, care-for-a-job-well-done people I’ve ever met.Not only do I like their choice selections in fashion and accessories, but I also love how they pay attention to every single detail of Venus on the Half Shell from how the mannequins are displayed to how they pack up purchases. I especially love that Jennifer writes her name on the back of business cards before customers leave. She definitely knows how to treat everyone around her like family. I can understand why Eddie especially loves working here.I hope to come back here soon for a social gathering of some sort. I can’t imagine a day in which it wouldn’t be possible to expect either wine and cheese or tea and cookies upon entering the shop to the sounds of April March music playing on a vinyl record.Oh and don’t forget that beautiful incense from New Orleans! Yes, Jennifer, I still remember it. :)

Amazing, unexpected, classy and fun artful textile items worth of your investment. Even if prices were a little above my expectations, left the store happy as a reuse master with 3 classic items, after trying dozens of their amazing, higher quality pieces. Loved the music, the set up, the kindness of their staff. If I’m ever back in Frederick, I’ll plan my visit to stop here again.

I'm livid because I drove up from Virginia to be able to go here today. I planned my whole weekend around being able to come to this shop! Turns out their posted hours on every single website I could find (Yelp, Google Maps, their own Facebook page, etc) have the incorrect hours posted! Everywhere said they were open every day from 12-6pm. When I got up to the shop (after braving all the traffic and nearby parking deck to get here), I found the place dark and locked up tight. The sign in the window said "Open", and then below it had the REAL hours posted....they're only open from 12-6 on Saturday and Sunday! For goodness sake, update your websites!

Super fun thrift shop! Nice selection of men's & women's clothes. Clean & in solid condition. Some nice boots. I love the attention to detail with the interior of the shop - great stuff at a reasonable price. I'm picky about my thrifting & I will definitely be back to Venus on the half shell!

The store was amazing! I visited yesterday and found a bunch of things that I'm soooo excited to wear. The owner was very sweet as well and recommended a few other vintage clothes stores that me and my friends will definitely check out.

Venus on the Half Shell is five stars in many ways! The store is clean, organized, the pieces are true vintage and the quality is amazing. You wouldn't believe that the pieces could be as old as they are and still remain in a "like new" condition. The Owner has an amazing heart and passion for what she does. This is passed down to her assistants which help create an environment that provides a fun and beautiful vibe. You will want to grab a coffee before you walk in so you can take your time and enjoy the ride going back in time to find some really beautiful pieces to take home. Support local!
