Wonderful store with a kind and friendly staff! We love shopping here, and always find something for everyone in our family. Great selection of everything you’d need to spend some time outdoors! We find great coats in the winter and awesome gear for time in the water during the summer! All around great shop and one of the best Frederick has to offer. And the shop dog Boss is the sweetest guy ever!

This is a wonderful store with wonderful staff. Went in the last two days in a row - first for socks and gloves, then for a pair of Salewa boots. Even though I arrived 30 minutes before close and the store was packed, staff quickly got me the right size boots and offered fit advice. They also made sure that their store dog steered clear of my working service dog. I don't live in Frederick, but I will travel here for hiking needs when I'm in the area. Service is that good.

A very nice retail store for many of your hiking needs. When you first enter you think you are in the wrong place but as you go further in you will see more and more hiking items. Lots of hiking clothing from shirts, jackets and coats, gloves, and footwear. As you first walk in to your left is a small room/section dedicated to books and maps. Be sure to check that out. They also have a nice selection of hiking poles but are very limited in hiking staffs (the wooden ones), which truly surprised me. All in all though, I would highly recommend visiting The Trail House.

This place is amazing and the people working here are SO nice. I broke a shoe walking through downtown Frederick today and immediately started darting in and out of every boutique I could find looking for a pair of cheap flip flops, sadly to no avail. Every place I went either had nothing or a few $100+ pairs of fancy sandals. I went into The Trail House, told them my tale, and one of the associates took me straight to their clearance section, told me which pairs were an extra 20% off, then BROUGHT ME THEIR SHOE GLUE SO I COULD FIX MY BROKEN SANDAL. She could've tried to sell me a pair of $80 leather sandals but didn't, just genuinely tried to help me. I fixed my shoe right there in their store and she kept checking on me just to make sure the glue was working. This seriously blew me away and really summed up what I love about Frederick, it's full of nice people who's first instinct is to help their neighbors. I will DEFINITELY be back to support this place further.

They are a great outdoor store with a little bit of everything. They are my go to store for shoes including Ultra zero drops and hiking boots.

Nice local outdoor shop with a varied selection and helpful staff. Plenty of unique trail shoes and gear. Even some climbing equipment.

Yesterday's visit was very disappointing. Sales staff was rude and condensending and frankly made me feel uncomforable. Have been shopping here for my hiking boots for years, but I will not be going back any time soon.UPDATE: The owners of Trail House reached out to me and were very understanding. They assured me that they will address the issue with their staff. I am happy their response was so positive ❤️

I was downtown and needed sunglases. The Trail House has a ood selection of sunglasses. Much better priced than a mall kiosk, much better merchandise than the dollar store or convenience store. Now, do I really need sandals, because they have nice ones.Very good customer service. Dog ? friendly

Slim selection as far as modern and lightweight gear and clothing. The staff can be very condescending and seem to think they are wilderness guides or something. Overall weak/underwhelming outfitter.
