The ladies there were so nice and helpful. And the plants they had, veggies and herbs, were in really good shape. I'm thinking about going back today to pick up a few of them.

I always head to Southern States in the early spring to pick up some shredded mulch for my garden, early flowers such as petunias and early season herbs and greens. They always have a beautiful, healthy inventory to choose from. The service is always courteous and prompt. The guys out back help load my mulch and that's greatly appreciated.

One of the better places in Frederick to shop for gardening items. They have tons of soil options and quite a lot of gardening things. I go here normally for soil and bird seed. The people that work here are nice and quite helpful

I usually love my experience that I have at this store but, today when I came in. There was A woman in front of me having a conversation with a cashier. Not a problem this is a very friendly place so this is not uncommon. But when a young blonde cashier came into another lane and she clearly wasn't doing. Anything didn't ask anybody if they needed help. Then once the conversation was over with the cashier in front of me. I proceed to go up. The man behind me asked the young blonde hey are you open and she goes oh yes. If you see a customer that needs assistance. The 1st thing you should be doing is your job.. instead of looking at your phone or doing something? No one should have to ask you if you're open. Totally ruined the customer service feel I had for this place.

The are unashamedly country. Baby chick's and all your farmers needs. Nice selection of toys for kids to appreciate rural life clothes that work for show and work.

The Frederick South Street location is wonderful. The staff is very nice and helpful. The feed I shop for is always in stock plus I usually find something else fun to get. It's a friendly place to shop.

Feeds a little high for the quality you receive. The cashiers are dry but so are FCA the Southern States head quarters say they sell acorn but they don't lots of net things to buy other than feed.

Clean, well stocked store that doesn't feel like everything's crammed into a small space. Associate's are very friendly and knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. Ditch Lowe's, Home Depot and Wal-Mart and shop at this SS!

This location is so much better then the mount airy location when it comes to buying feed. I usually have issues buying the feed I want and have to order it but this SS always has it in stock. I will drive the extra 12 minutes from now on.
