I have been going to Dr. Hawley for 6 plus years and have had nothing but the absolute best for our Benese Mountain Dog. The staff here are amazing. Dr. Hawley is excellent with mine even with his extreme anxiety at appointments. He never overcharges and never has me get unneeded things, procedures. Even suggested I wait one time on XRays when my boy was limping ( because he would of been required to be put to sleep for them) we waited and two weeks later he was perfectly fine with no limp. I know if I would have taken him anywhere else I would have been socked for a grand at least. I appreciate the care at this office and although I know retirement will be someday for Dr. Hawley I regret it already for us ( not him).

Dr Healey is great but everything else is a total fail, especially reception!
I asked for an invoice as I found my charges extremely high and the receptionist said she would email it to me…5 days later I’m still waiting…. I emailed them twice about it and no response!
I’ve been trying to re-schedule an appointment for days now but in the rare occasion someone answers the phone they tell you to wait straight away! 5 mins later still on hold so I end up to hunging up.
It’s very frustrating to deal with the reception here and to find any form of communication so I don’t recommend this clinic to anyone.
I surely won’t be back.

My son took his 1 1/2 year old cat to have him neutered yesterday, all went well with blood work, Loki seemed healthy. My son received a call the surgery went well, when he went to pick him up he was told the cat passed away. What happened???? We don’t understand!!
My son is totally devastated. His first personal owned fur baby. Is this normal? I would hate to think it was negligence on the staffs part.
Has this ever happened to anyone?

Dr. Hawley has been amazing to my dog Pink and I. His approaches on my pups infection were amazing and it very quickly got better. He is also very considerate of the financial strain vet bills can be. He gave me options so I didn't feel pressured to choose the most expensive one and while I did it is nice to know that he wanted to give me the option instead of just presenting me with a big bill. We drive over an hour to come see him and he will also be seeing my other pets from now on too. You can tell her really treats your pets like they are his own. Can't say enough kind things.

They spayed my dog in heat which I was bot aware and never asked me before if it was OK. NOW my dog is super ill and unable to recover properly.
After the surgery I took my dog to the vet and they were super rude, careless. They prescribed meds and charge me again for the follow up visit. I am calling them tomorrow because my dog is getting worst.

Before meeting Dr. Hawley and his team, I was paying THOUSANDS of $$$ on nonsense testing at a certain "country club" setting vet who could not explain the skin rash my puppy had. Since Luke was a rescue, the adoption agency had me get him neutered. I was referred to Dr. Hawley and that was the BEST day for me and my wallet! He is kind, compassionate, loves on dogs as his own (I'm sure he's the same with other animals as well, but I have a doggy) and his staff are the kindest, sweetest, most courteous group of people I have come across in a long time. They always listen to you and understand your concerns. They greet my doggy by name as soon as we walk in and have always gone the extra mile to help (let's just say, backing my 100 lbs dog into his crate with a cone on is not a one man job!!) Prospect Veterinary Clinic is over and beyond fantastic and easily the BEST OF FREDERICK AND MARYLAND.

I was dog sitting for a friend who is a patient at Prospect Vet-the dog got sick and I took him in for evaluation. The saw us quickly and the vet tech (very professional young man) was wonderful with the dog and comforting. The vet was informative and helpful. They are lucky to have this vet tech and although we have another regular vet-I would not hesitate to use this office.

Absolutely love Dr. Hawley! He genuinely cares about the animals and takes the time to talk and listen. He and his staff are always very patient with my reactive dog.

Receptionist rude over the phone but act all innocent face to face. Cut you off when you try explaing things. They don't care about your pets they just want to get as much money out of you. I remember when there was a time they actually cared and I enjoyed taking them. But my last 2 experience definitely made me switch veterinarian. Definitely don't recommend them.

I took my dog there because I had a coupon and they barely even looked at barely touched her. Told us she had a heart mummur and she would be fine it's not affecting her. She was a senior dog and they made us put her down to clean her teeth they said it was dire or she wouldn't make it. So we did the teeth cleaning and a couple weeks later they calling saying she needed another surgery. After the first surgery it was to much for her. Calling asking when were gonna pay. They had no consideration for us. She passed away the same day they called asking for me to pay which I already did with care credit. When I brought her in after she passed they took her from me and I didn't get to see her one last time. They just told me they was giving her a ex ray and I could say my goodbyes. I never saw her again. They never gave me her paw print. Then had the nerve two weeks after she passed and was picking up her ashes they asked how was i gonna pay for it. I used care credit. The doctor didn't care bout my dog. Oh I can't forget when we had the check up the doctor told me my dog was perfectly healthy how is that possible when she died less than a month after I saw them. My dogs paws shouldn't look like that after she had her teeth Cleaned! I don't recommend this place.

They used to be my favorite vet and felt like I could really trust them even though they were pricey. I never loved that I couldn’t go back with my dog for small things like nail trims since I knew she would be more calm and less nervous if I was in sight, but I understand they have their reasons. What really upset me was when I moved out of Frederick and found a new vet, they brought in muzzles because her chart from PVC stated that she needed to be muzzled. My dog has never bit or been aggressive in any way that I was aware of and was completely shocked to find out that she had been muzzled without PVC ever informing me. I just wish they told me. The new vet has not had any issues with aggression or any need for a muzzle so still trying to find out what happened.
