Staff and polite, area is generally clean, Costco has good prices on tires, but wait times are out of control and staff will upsell you if you don't know they're doing it. You used to be able to go into Costco and drive out a few hours later with new tires, now everything is online and shipping times are 7-10 days! (The employees will say average is 3 days but I ordered tires in September and it's already the second week in October)
The sales rep at Costco quoted me for Michelin Defender 2 tires, which are exactly the same as the Costco exclusive Xtour A/S 2, only $20 more per tire (Seriously, even the tread pattern is exactly the same; they do this so other companies don't have to price match Costco on the defender 2). Either the employee was poorly trained or he was deliberately trying to inflate our invoice price. The tires have to be ordered online anyway, so stock has no bearing on his choices here. Regardless, it was insulting and a sign of more issues to come. He told us average shipping time online was around 3 days, so we went home (If I knew I needed to order online I wouldn't have driven the car with bad tires into the shop!) and ordered the actual tires we knew we wanted online, and waited *a week* before we were told they finally shipped (only took 3 days to get to costco after that, was that the 3 days he was talking about?)
Fast forward and my vehicle has been at Costco for 24 hours. My 10am appointment was delayed because my wheel lock had been lost by a previous shop, and I was assured they would call me in the evening when my vehicle was done. My car has been at Costco tire in Frederick now for 24 hours. If I knew I would have to wait almost 3 weeks, and leave my car overnight at costco, I would have just paid the extra $200 and gotten tires with a longer warranty and free lifetime rotations from the local shop two weeks ago.
Gone are the days of getting new tires at Costco in ~3 hours, I waited 2 weeks and my car is still in their parking lot. You pay the money you save in headaches and wasted time (Unless you get upsold on the same tire, then you get the hassles at full price). If the warehouse didn't mess up the membership renewal this year, and treated me with respect at the food court, I would assume this was a one off issue, but I think there are systemic problems that are not getting addressed in the company. Costco used to be fun, now it's frustrating. It wasn't like this the last time I got tires on my car. Would have given more stars if I didn't also lose two days to this on top of waiting 2 weeks.

Appointment set for 1:15PM, showed up at 1:00PM, dropped keys off and waited, it is now 3:20PM and I am still waiting to have four tires replaced. Very unorganized place, I hope my tires are at least decent when this is finally over. First time ever using Costco for tires, and will be my last.

I had a terrible experience having a small tire puncture repaired at the Costco Tire Center in Frederick, MD! I made a repair appoinmet for 5:30 pm and dropped the car off 25 minutes earlier than the actulal appointment time. I was told by the representative at the counter that the appointment would take 1 to 1.5 hours. I spent time in Costco but at 7:00 pm I noticed they had not even taken my vehicle in the garage to work on it! The representative at the counter said the car would be taken in soon and woould be done in 30-35 minutes. My car was returned to me at 8:28 pm --2 minutes before the 8:30 pm closing time! This was just short of 3 hours to get a puncture repaired even though I had a 5:30 pm appointment and dropped the vehicle off 25 minutes early! The service was horrible and it would probably been better to skip the warranty coverage and pay for dependable and professional repair service elsewhere!

Good tires good price. Staff needs proper training would not trust them with anything nice. I watched helplessly the multiple failed attempts to use a steel tire iron wedged against my aluminum wheels to install the tire instead of using the machine properly. Wheels now have major gauging. Tire warning light still on when I asked them about it they said to fix it myself.

Beware that when you show up for your appointment and was told the wait time would be 60-90 minutes, don't take their word for it. It might end up as 120 minutes or longer. And they don't have any patience for complaints for the long wait time. The guy that helped me definitely had a lot of attitude. The best part is when my car is finally ready for check out, while I was sitting on the bench waiting, he basically threw me the check out paperwork without saying a word. Ridiculously arrogant.

Bought 4 new tires. Drove all the way home and noticed that the key to the tire locking lug had not been removed after the tires were installed and was still somehow on one of the lugs. I feel very fortunate that it didn't fall off on the way home.

Thank you Frederick Costco Tire Center for being so understanding & patient. I had some wheel lock issues that needed to be taken care of before putting new tires & they were very kind/reassuring about it. I came back 2 weeks later & it was easy & quick!

Had an appointment, they advised my car would be ready in 90 minutes. After 90 minutes my car is still sitting in the parking lot.
