This is the worst child care experience I've ever had. They are racist, DISCRIMINATION towards you and your child. Your child is not safe at this center. Their MISSION STATEMENT is " we dont see everything and we do the best we can" The teachers do not live in the classroom. They watch your child on the monitor. They allow the white kids to bully the black kids without doing anything. The Director Sarah Bishop and Assistant Director Laura Parent are the worst people you can ever meet. No care for the color kids at all. If you advocate for your child that you get a label.

My kids used to attend the Urbana Centre and my review is based on my personal experience. The administrative staffs are the worst combination of people, especially if you are colored or minority you will feel the racism right away. They treat minority kids as an adult, for any small child behaviors, they treat them aggressively. The Centre has no curriculum to follow, it is just like in-house daycare, don’t expect your kids to gain any skills. Even though they posted proudly in the Centre that “ kids are not here to learn how to read and write, they are here to be kids” it is a shame to post this even though they claim to be a child learning Centre. You have no way of knowing your kid's progress in the Centre. Teachers are changed every 2 weeks and my kids had a hard time keeping up with it. Kids get emotionally attached to their teachers and they always ask if they are coming back. At lunch hours just drop around the Centre and look, you will see teachers and other staff eating their lunch in their cars in the most humiliating ways, I believe this is a bad working area for the staff too, no respect is given to them at all. Imagine how disrespected and undervalued person care for your kids, I don’t blame teachers for fleeing this center every week. Most of the time the teacher's place is replaced by Urbana high school students every single day. even I asked to contact his teacher for his evaluation and progress, they just told me that he is doing fine. Nothing is structured in this Centre. There are excellent preschools within walking distance of this center like Kiddie Academy, kids Villa and more. I enrolled my kids at Kiddie and I am extremely happy now. They are so diverse, kid and family-friendly, professional, and concerned. The summary, if you are colored and any type of minority stay away from bright eyes definitely your kid will have emotional trauma or some sort of racism. if you are white make sure you don’t want skills and progress for your kids before you enroll them here plus the center offers nothing more than what a home-based day care center offers. I believe home-based daycare offers more with the care and value they add to your kid's skill set. My review is just to let you know little research is good if you enroll your kids here, let alone pay your hard-earned money for it.

I had big hopes for this place but however management does not take hitting seriously. They normalize it instead of ensuring to provide a safe environment.

I would NOT recommend sending your children here. I walked in to see about potentially signing up our 13-month-old and the front desk lady didn't even turn around to acknowledge me. She was very cold and short which was confusing because I expected people who work with children to be warm and welcoming. While still facing her computer, Ashley (I think her name was) told me they didn't have space so they couldn't take my daughter. She didn't even offer waitlist options. In the very short time I was there, I also was able to see one of the workers come up to ask her a question and they got the same cold, rude response that I did. The young teacher looked so defeated and she gave me a look on my way out that told my gut "go somewhere else." I called Kiddie Academy and The Goddard school located near by and had a much better initial interaction. My child will be going to one of those two places instead.

My son attended this daycare for 2 years. He started in the toddler room. Overall our experience was ok. The center location is very convenient for drop offs/ pickup. Facility is always clean and hygienic. Most of the teachers my son had were good. The teachers in toddler room did a great job in potty training him very quickly. The only problem we had is teachers kept changing frequently. This was frustrating for him and for us. This happened too often that finally we had to pull him out.

Love the teachers and staff here! They all seem to know my 1 yr old son regardless of what class he’s in and he’s learning new things everyday from them!!
