I've been bringing my dogs to this practice for 50yrs. I have always appreciated their efforts to provide continuity and consistency of service during transitions in staff and ownership. I live in VA but have found IHAH to be the best in service and compassion. Tried others. I always come back.

Made an appointment for my dog to have his anal glands expressed on the website. Day before the appointment the office called to say his rabies vaccine was overdue. I said ok I'll get the rabies vaccine and get his glands expressed. She then said he would need a wellness exam with the doctor since he "may" have a reaction from the vaccine. So they want to charge a doctor's exam fee, rabies vaccine and the gland fee. I cancelled the appointment. I DO NOT APPRECIATE TRYING TO BE UP SOLD AT THE VET'S OFFICE. THE GREED IS SICKENING!!!

It’s so hard to call and actually talk to someone here. Multiple times I’ve actually shown up in person just to get a question answered. We have been taking our dog here for a few years now and after issue after issue it seems like it will be easier to take him elsewhere even though it will be farther away. I loved that they were close but the struggle hasn’t been worth it lately.

This practice is under new management, and since the new management took over, the service has declined immensely. I've been taking my fur babies to this hospital for years, but no more. They reduced hours of operation, claiming unforseen staff shortage, yet they let go many of their staff and are making other staff members work at their sister location. So how is that unforseen?!?. My last visit there they had the tech do everything, then the doctor came in for 5 minutes. In my opinion and perception, they're more concerned with money and their sister hospital than their IHAH clients. The prices skyrocket. This truly saddens me. I've been taking my fur babies to this veterinary for many, many years. I wrote a comment on their fb page, and they deleted my comment and blocked me from their fb page. I switched to a new EMMAvet, and the quality care there is excellent.

I have taken all my pets to Indian Head Animal hospital. I have been a customer of theirs for over 30 years and I will always be a customer of this establishment because of the care they offer my four legged family members.

I used to love this Animal Hospital - so much that I've referred many of my friends and colleagues, however I do not have the same sentiments now as Indian Head Animal Hospital has gone down the proverbial tube. They are a shadow of what they used to be. They very seldom answer their phones. When you leave a message - they don't call back for weeks or not at all. They are no longer open on Saturdays, they no longer offer boarding and you can't get appointments until 2-4 months out! So disappointed as I've used them for 15 years! Time to find a more reliable Veterinarian office.
