I was walking my dog in the park after hours and a little miniature bull terrier came up to us, with no collar or leash. I could tell the little dog was well cared for and called the SPCA for guidance. I was directed to take the dog home and someone from their staff would come to my home that evening and pick up the dog. The person was not certain of the exact pick up time but the dog would get picked up. About an hour went by and I received a call that the owner had called to see if anyone had reported finding the dog. To make a long story short, the owner was a neighbor, stopped by my house and retrieved his beautiful little dog. Just a reminder of how grateful I am that we have a centralized resource to help us with all facets of animal care in the county.

Anytime if you want or feel like doing a good deed. Please donate to SPCA or become a volunteer. It always feels good to be part of greater good. They are doing a lot of good things to so many animals in need.

They are so accommodating, caring, patient and supportive. They have spay and neutered many dogs for the rescue I am with. Really can’t say enough great things about the staff and the prices are great. Can’t recommend them enough!

SPCA has been welcoming and patient as I attempted to trap all the feral cats at my condominium IN ALEXANDRIA! SPCA is very responsive and even texted me. I'm very appreciative of their support after I tried to reach out to local rescue groups in my area.

Don't come here during the summer unless you prepare to do camping. Bring plenty of water for yourself and your pet and a snack cuz you will be here for over 2 hours. I highly advise a chair too if you can't stand for too long. I swear people who are selling things or trying to do some entertainment will be making some money if they came up in here and try to do something cuz these people are bored and hot. The ice cream truck pulled up here and was making a killing off of all of us.

The Volunteers are a wonderful, dedicated staff but PG County needs more locations throughout the county and the ability to make an appointment. Residents and there fur babies have to wait long hours in line in the heat of Summer and the frost of Winter

While the volunteers at the Clinic were kind and helpful— they assured the animals had water and were happy to answer questions— the organization of the Vaccine clinic was atrocious. Hundreds of people and their pets were waiting for over three hours in the hot sun just to get a number for the line to the actual vaccine (tents provided for the volunteers only). It took FIVE HOURS for my dog to get her shots (two more hours of waiting after I got my number). Why aren’t numbers distributed upon arrival? I got there at 11:30 and was there until 4:30. Those five hours were spent in the hot sun. Many dogs were overheating. And because all the animals were in line together, lots of poorly behaved dogs were lungeing at other animals and there were sounds of near-fights all over the place. To top it off I think my dog got fleas from one of the animals around us. The money saved was absolutely not worth the misery. PLEASE develop a more effective way for people to wait without forcing our animals to wait in the hot sun with other animals that might pose a risk to them.

Okay, so, bring your patience‼️ no matter how early you arrive, there are always more folks ahead of you.Like, seriously, no matter how early you and your fur family show up, there are many, many people ? ahead of you. (Even if you arrive 1 hour and thirty minutes early. ?ANOTHER THING: read the fine print, because it all makes sense, especially if you're on their website, trust me, it's there! Here's what I mean:So, the hours are not as indicated on the tab for "Saturday clinic hours". You must search the fine print below that reads only for July-September, the hours start 11a.m.-1p.m. why? because it's hot☀️????
