“The Theater and Show was great! I was surprised to find that the seats were very comfortable and we had leg room. Drinks were a little pricey but good, and they had plenty of restaraunts for your palate. The Casino was okay I won 370 dollars on penny slots, but high betting started at 25 dollars on tables. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed Diana Ross!”

“If you're ever in Washington DC, this is a must-visit. It's free and you get to see some amazing quality art. The curators are very friendly and you can meet many of the artists who work there. There are so many pieces on display, I'd recommend setting aside at least four hours to explore. I also highly recommend the contemporary art in the east wing.”

“This is an absolutely gorgeous space to see the work of talented local artists. There are often 2 exhibits at a time and during the opening receptions the artists mingle amongst the guests to talk about their work and the creative process. There is also a lively shop where you can purchase unique pieces from featured and past exhibitors.”

“I highly recommend printing your photos here. For my husband for Christmas this year, I put together a bunch of photographs from our summer road trip. I had a big frame with a bunch of different sizes that I wanted to fill up, and Hadid did a beautiful job printing all of my pictures to the correct sizes. The quality of the images is outstanding — they look gorgeous. The printing does justice to the beautiful nature photographs that we took . I’ll always print my pictures here from now on. I think I’m going to print and frame some more of my favorite photos to cover a wall in the apartment that is currently rather bare.”

“Cool place. Easy to talk to different artists. There are painters, sculptors, photographers, potters, printers, weavers and jewellery makers. More than 50 stores to be discovered. The factory has a historic atmosphere. There is still the small of an old factory there and some torpedoes. Also some background on the history of the building.”

“There are two stores that are generally opened in the arts center. The vintage shop and book store by visiting there is always awesome. I also enjoy the changing exhibitions as well as the community events.”

“Both cookbooks by Marcella are staples in my kitchen, and her shop is a go-to for all types of inspiring gifts. Her artistry is intentional and she offers a wide variety of ways to enjoy her illustrations. If you're in the DC area, sign up for a watercolor & cocktail workshop. It was one of the funnest experiences!”

“Excellent way to present the life and works of this talented and interesting artist. I learned a lot about him, in a highly engaging way. And I loved how the interactive experience allowed us to go inside his paintings and really feel them using all of our senses.I just wish the tickets were more affordable! Paying almost $150 for a couple to spend one hour at the museum (including VR) is overpriced.”

“For your framing needs, I brought a nice picture and they put it into a very nice frame and the price was very reasonable, I will be back and very highly recommended.”

“Love it. However, it isn't a place for a quick stop unless you know just what you are looking for. The best part is browsing, that mood of wanting to buy that something special, be it jewelry or an item of home decor either for yourself or someone important in your life. Rusty is knowledgeable and very interesting. If you ask him, he will guide you in the right direction. It is easy to find, just off of King Street, on Lafayette. It is too bad that the city made them take down the purple balloons.”

“Awesome art by daytime comedy and poetry at nighttime. Never have I ever felt a more inclusive atmosphere. If you want REAL nightlife, come here. “We were looking for a non-traditional wedding venue and stumbled on Toolbox’s info. After visiting the space and checking it out we knew it was perfect for the size and scope of our wedding! Alex and Iva (and Cece!) were amazing to work with and gave so many fabulous recommendations for vendors and local connections, which really helped our effort to maintain a budget friendly wedding without sacrificing quality! Cece went above and beyond to provide the most amazing day-of coordination support and kept things moving beautifully, even with some last minute schedule adjustments. Overall we felt so supported, and post-wedding we have gotten nothing but rave reviews from our guests about the venue and overall space as well as the flow of our wedding day. Highly recommend checking out Toolbox for any event hosting needs, but the space was absolutely magical for our wedding. 10/10 would do it again!”

“So cute! You MUST visit if you are looking for new dishware. The designs vary by artist, but they are so heartwarming and special. The different styles are incredible, and some are based on the local flora and fauna, making them unique to the area. You can even meet the artists!”

“Beautiful experience on Christmas Eve at the ice rink at the Sculpture Garden, we enjoyed the ambience and environment, it really is majestic to skate in the shadow of the nations monuments and National Archives, it was a beautiful day for our intro to the ice. Tickets are only available on site before skate sessions that start at the top of the hour. The Ice is cleared 15 minutes before the end of the skate session for maintenance, this includes the Zamboni run, and if you have smaller children as I do, they may also enjoy this part. Although no skating aids are available, we ventured out into the ice for the first time and enjoyed pulling ourselves along the way. It was a great Christmas Eve activity for my family”

“An amazing use of space in an abandoned old trolley station. It's currently a work in progress and only a portion of it is open, but it's worth checking out. It has so much potential! I can't wait to see the finished product!”

“Found this nice little gallery on Google maps and decided to visit on a Saturday. They were having a show at the time so didn't have many works on display, so the owner suggested us to look on their website. The website has a very large selection of artworks. We decided to get something for our living room wall from the website and narrowed down to an artist's painting. Her paintings size were a bit smaller than we'd like, but then the gallery owner told us that they also do commission work and we can ask for a specific painting size and add other stuff like different colors! We were a bit nervous about the whole customization thing but the owner was really nice and went through the whole process with us, also checking in once in a while to make sure we got exactly what we need. We also had the painting frame customized, and the painting was delivered to our door in a few weeks. It was a very unique and special experience for us and we'll be coming back for more art in the future!”
