This place is absolutely horrendous! My husband and I came here with my daughter about three days ago and the way that management treated us when we had an issue was 100% unprofessional. I do not recommend coming here. The workers all look absolutely miserable but I don't blame them considering how rude and disrespectful the management is. 0/5 if I could. Do not come here if you want to be respected!!! No respect and high prices ? No thanks !

Great, GREAT Clean Store and GREAT SERVICE.Okson is an Amazing Young Lady, giving EXCELLENT SERVICE, ALL the time when I come to buy Groceries.Her line Moves quickly as she Greets Everyone whomever comes to Her line.She Treats Everyone with Respect, No matter who it is and is Very PROFESSIONAL.I always leave with a smile as well as I see other Customers smiling when then check out Also.She made my Day. This is the BEST Store in the Howard County Area to Shop.Thank You OKSON.GOD BLESS YOU.

I chose to drive the extra miles to the Ellicott City location to this Safeway after being hassled several times in the parking lot by panhandlers or guys wanting bus fare at the Arundel Mills location Safeway. I could have gone to Giant in Elkridge but had a store gift card a friend had sent recently. It was sent digitally and didn't specify that it must be printed. Had a pleasant enough time going through the aisle getting the items we needed. There were only two check out registers open. Even after shoppers were lining up in both lanes, they would not open another. Had a full cart so didn't think to go to self check out. My turn finally arrives after about a 10-12 minute wait in the line. The cashier was great but didn't want me to help with bagging for some reason to improve the speed of things. Get to the paying part, and the cashier and manager both say the gift card must be printed. They can't scan from my phone. Really??? Is this almost 2023? I was too exhausted from shopping and waiting in line and had others waiting behind me so just paid and left.

They had cotton balls unlike the other store in the same shopping center.About 20% were masked.5 stars for the pharmacist running the whole show and taking time to explain things.

Currently standing in line behind five people with full carts because there is only one register open. It's 10:30 Sunday morning. This isn't the first time that this has happened.

I saw the bad reviewers for the Safeway but came in to make a purchase as I was picking up my drive up order from target next door. On my way to customer service, I stopped to see if the store had Cotton Candy grapes in stock for my daughter. I then went to customer service to buy a money order as someone asked me for that specific form of payment. There were two cashiers working and long lines at both. When I approached the customer service desk, there weren't any other customers nor was there a store rep present. A few minutes later, Lisa, the front end manager, came to the customer service desk. She looked me Up and down then said can I help you ? I told her I needed a money order and she said do you have cash? I told her I was paying with cash and debit as most places allow. She said no, they were a cash only establishment. I said okay, I'll get cash back. I got cash from self service quickly and returned to the from desk. Lisa was gone. A rep at the register called for service on the headpiece and intercom. Five minutes later, no one had came. Almost 8 minutes later, two other people got into line behind me. Lisa then came out of the office directly behind the customer service desk where there's a two way mirror. So essentially, she saw me in line and heard the page but didn't bother returning to assist me despite her awareness that I was coming right back. I'm a almost 6 ft tall, physically disabled woman and I use a cane. Currently I'm overweight from lupus and heart failure medications but thankfully mostly mobile. I'm vaccinated but wear a mask for precaution. My appearance is clean. I live in the community and was not being unruly or rude. So why did Lisa treat me as if I was unworthy of timely and friendly service ? I do order groceries from here , target and Walmart due to my physical limitations... sometimes giant. Going forward, I will not be purchasing from here as long as I can avoid it, especially if I have to deal with unfriendliness. I understand having a bad day but frankly, if You're in customer service, you learn to do your job without taking frustrations out on your customers. Especially those who getting to that counter was a major struggle.

This is the best Safeway in our region. I sometimes go out of my way to go there instead of the one that's closer to home. The deli counter is staffed much more adequately than the one on Harpers Farm Road, for example.

Disappointed! We've been ordering birthday cupcakes cakes from this Ellicott City Safeway bakery for the past 8 years, and each time it's at least 3 orders of cupcakes cakes. The bakery chef was friendly and understood what we wanted on the cupcakes. Sadly, this past year, the bakery chef retired. This July, I ordered (2) orders of cupcakes cakes in the number #1 shape for my 2nd son 1st birthday(s) and an additional 10 individual cupcakes, all basic chocolate and vanilla, simple frosting. The 10 individual cupcakes were $8.99 for his school party. The first 1/4 sheet cupcakes cake was $21.99. I was told the 1/4 sheet contains 15 cupcakes. At the party, we found out that the 1/4 sheet only had 11cupcakes. And we had 15 guests. This was so embarrassing. Today, we went back to pick up the second cupcakes cake order, again, they gave us 11 cupcakes for the price of $21.99. The 1st staff said that they price based on sheet size, not number of cupcakes. And the 2nd staff there stated the 1/4 sheet should have 15 cupcakes. The 1st staff said the system only price based on sheet size and not number of cupcakes. In conclusion, they can charge you $21.99 for 2 plain cupcakes if it is on a sheet. In addition to all this, the taste was not the same; frosting and cupcakes tasted less soft and not as fresh as the cakes the previous chef made. We are very disappointed and will not be returning. We hope they'll get it together soon, people deserve better, especially after 2020.

I try and avoid going to this store at all cost. The products are overpriced, the people that work there are not very helpful, and the pharmacy is just dreadful. Today I had the audacity to go there after receiving an email that they were doing COVID-19 walk-n vaccines. In my mind I thought, its a trap. But I really wanted to get my second dose at a location right next to my house. I had the nerve to get there when the pharmacy opened at 9am and the ladies behind the counter seemed annoyed at the sight of me. When I told them I was there for the vaccine they said appointments did not start until 10am. When I told them I was a walk-in, they said the vaccine is not ready until 10am because it takes 15 minutes for it to be ready out of the refrigerator. Now I am no scientist, but if I am here at 9am and it takes 15 minutes then should it not be be ready at 915? If you go to McDonald's and ask for breakfast they don't say "Sorry we just opened, please wait an hour so we can make breakfast." Have supplies ready for customers! As I walked away one of the ladies sarcastically shouted, "See ya later!" at me. She knew I would not be back. If you are wondering why people are having a hard time getting vaccinated, look no further.

I went to get vaccinated at the pharmacy and the black lady at the front were so racist and disrespectful. I waited over 30min so i asked how much longer i need to wait and she yelled at me if i have a pharmacy license i can come help her?!? Her supervisor needs to teavh her to treat her customers. Never going back again!!

I ordered my groceries online as I have three little ones at home and every time I place an order here the quality of their produce has been horrible. The fruits and vegetables that arrive are damaged as if the person shopping was trying to get rid of old produce. I even was charged for items that I didn't receive. The store itself is organized and clean but having food delivered and picked up from there is not satisfactory.

My first visit I was VERY impressed with the courtesy, professionalism, and efficacy of the personnel at this store, particularly front desk clerk, Mariah who assisted me, first by phone then in-store, helped me complete a safe, sanitary, quick and easy pickup of my goods which was much appreciated since I was in a real hurry to return home! Mariah was most thoughtful and checked to make sure that Safeway had the specific items I was seeking. Safeway is one of two supermarket chains that regularly stocks 'Zevia', an all natural, stevia-sweetened, carbonated beverage that is a healthier option for those who crave soda. Unlike other brands of diet and regular soda, Zevia is not addictive nor chemical-infused, and seems to be quite hydrating. 'Mariah' expedited the checkout process and demonstrated exceptional customer service qualities in doing so, the kind of qualities that make patrons feel valued by the business. The store was very neat, clean, and well-staffed even at 10:30 pm. Due to those facts but mostly due to Mariah's shining and beyond-the-call-of-duty assistance, I give this SAFEWAY 5 Stars, and I give Mariah 6!
