We have used WFAH for 25+ years. When you find an excellent place, you stick with it. We have had several emergencies with our dog and cat in recent years. Dr. Ward is an amazing, caring and compassionate doctor. She goes above and beyond to make sure we know exactly what is going on now and what may happen in the future. She will call after hours to check on our "boys" and us after an emergency. The entire staff takes care of each patient as though they are their own. There is no place else I will ever trust with one of my fur babies!!

Dr. Ward and her staff are absolutely amazing. Dr. Ward followed-up with me tonight regarding my pups blood work and she wanted to see how he was feeling. Her compassion for pets and their humans is something really special.

Remy & Dr. Ani are so sweet & kind, yes my dogs barked but that's b/c they didn't know them yet but they got comfortable as soon as the treats came out, lol. No more driving 45 minutes to an hour for a vet appointment.

This place honestly deserves 10 stars if there were such a rating! From the front desk staff who is absolutely amazing to the amazing vet techs and the vets. My cats could not be in better hands and I will never take them anywhere else. I understand cost is a huge factor for some people but I prefer quality vet care over quantity and Dr Ani Gibbons is top notch as are her colleagues. She saved the life of my little kitten Hope. Dr Gibbons is kind, patient, attentive, her bedside manner is amazing she takes time to really listen to her patients and I mean their humans and help them figure out what is wrong with their pets and form a game plan to help them. She goes that extra mile for them that no other vet ever has and I can say the same about the other wonderful vets in the office as well. My cats mean everything to me and I will never use another vet. You do not find a vet like this every day. I have never found another one like them yet.

I would give Dr Gibbons & the staff a 10 out of 5 stars if that was possible. Everyone has been so kind & extremely helpful. What I love most about Dr Gibbons is that she truly listens to your concerns & thoughts about what might be wrong with your dog and doesn’t dismiss it. It feels like you have a whole team behind you.

I had to bring my dog in unexpectedly today. I was not a previous client, but the staff went above and beyond to help my dog feel better on short notice. I am so impressed with their kindness and compassion to 4-legged and 2 legged. I plan to change to WFAH for all 3 of my dogs from now on!

I have used West Friendship Animal Hospital for years. My last visit was in September 2019. I am caring for six feral cats who are all part of the same family ranging from 15 to 17 years old. On my last visit Baby "B" was suffering from a rodent ulcer. This was very discomforting to her and getting her to the vet's office was very difficult. The cat will only allow me to pet her, feed her and provide her with her needs. She gets terribly fearful when anyone else gets anywhere near her. I place my full trust in Dr. Estelle Ward, she is very competent and was as gentle as possible when treating baby "B". Since the cat will need to take medication for the rest of her life it was important that we determine the easiest and least invasive means of getting her medicated. Dr. Ward suggested that we think of a way we could do this without upsetting the cat. I followed her suggestions and now the cat receives her medication three times per week and she does not even realize what is going on...hence no anxiety or frustration on my part or on Baby "B"'s part. Dr. Ward and her staff are all very caring and try to give the best possible treatment to the owners and pets that are brought to them. I also get the medications for the cat from their office as I have found that they have the lowest prices in the area and when you are retired on a fixed income that can mean a lot. I would enthusiastically suggest to my friends and neighbors and others as well, that West Friendship Animal Hospital is the FINEST place you could go to cure what ails your beloved pets. Did I mention...they are HIGHLY ComPETent as well! We are so blessed that we have the BEST Vet hospital in all of Maryland right on our doorstep!!! If you are not already a client, you really ought to be. Your own peace of mind and your pet's lives depend on it. May God Bless them for the wonderful work they do.

I've been a client of Dr. Ward for more than 20 years. I'd follow her anywhere. She's so incredibly kind and so incredibly smart. There have been several occasions through the years when she has saved my dogs' lives. The staff at WFAH is top notch. When you walk in and you're greeted, you know THIS is where you and your pet belong.

Visited West Friendship Animal Hospital with a dog that I was caring for while his mom/dad were out of town. The dog was vomiting and also had a run-in with the fence (literally) and had a small scrape on his face. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Gibbons who was very thorough, friendly, and really showed her care and affection for the pup. She explained everything she felt they should do to address the two concerns. She called the mom to confirm (mom btw, said she was very impressed with Dr. Gibbons as well for being so thorough in her explanation over the phone). Pup never seemed anxious with Dr. Gibbons and walked out happy as a clam with a plan to get his tummy feeling better and a nicely cleaned up wound!

I used to enjoy bringing my pets to this practice. The last few years I have felt I was being taken for a financial ride, especially for well visit items. The third vet that joined I do not care for at all, she makes you feel like a "bad dog parent" for things like the dogs nails are long. Just her attitude in general after one visit made me never want to have my pets see her again. Too many things have made me not go back to this practice, blood work being drawn at an incorrect time which I then had to have done again at my expense ($100), pre paying for fecal test when I expressly told them I did not want to do this, catheterizing a pet at a well visit when i said I could easily get the dog's urine in a cup; then when my dog needed a vet an hour before they were to close I was told on the phone they were too busy to see my dog. I was advised by the office staff to wait an hour and go to Ellicott City ER when they opened, or drive to the Vet ER half hour away. Needless to say this did not make me feel very good as I was very concerned about my dog. The sad thing is overall, I get the feeling too much of their time is spent trying to get you to agree to more procedures and medications at well visits. When Dr. Sullivan ran this practice I did not feel this way. Actually he would talk us out of our pet "needing an xray", and advise other less expensive and less invasive options first.
