Maxine has a great selection of 50's--60's era vintage treasures! She has a plethora amount of assortment jewelry, teacups, serving plates, glass wear, and hats.Prices seem to be higher than other vintage boutiques, but each piece has a story that she can provide. At Maxine's, you aren't just walking into any vintage store, you are taking an intimate stroll through her very own closet.

Snoody and rude.....and I am white. Better change her ways because the whole nation is about to collapse.

Honestly a terrible experience being in this store. The goods were okay (overpriced and not the best maintained) but keep psychology.com handy because you might need an appointment after walking thru this store. The owner was incredibly rude, mean, and pushy (look at other reviews - things haven't changed since even 5 years ago). Love the dog tho he's super cute. Was extremely pushy the whole time but also she said quote "thats a small, are you sure you're gonna fit?" when I wanted to try on a jacket. When it did fit, she said under her breath as if I wouldn't hear "oh must've been a medium actually"totally unreal. would not recommend going here - go visit cindy across the street. Much nicer and has 3 FLOORS of better items.

The shop owner was incredibly rude and judging from the prior comments below, I won't be surprised if it stems from outright racism. She completely disregarded me when I came in, was on her phone, acted super righteous, and I am all for supporting local businesses but not from racists/rude people! Do not support this one!!!!!

The female owner is rude and unprofessional. We tried a coat and she was “whispering”but loud enough for us to hear negative remarks and she constantly give us unfriendly looks because we are Asian? Anyway, I am never going back. It’s supposed to be a nice antique place but the people running there ruin everything.

Yes this shop is overpriced (esp if you consider online second hand) HOWEVER it has the best clothing curation out of any shops in the area by FAR. That's what you're paying for. I've had only good experiences with the shop owner, so I was surprised to see the other reviews, however perhaps I was just lucky.

The woman in the store is just awful. She is rude, mean and inappropriate. Doesn’t deserve my (or anyone else’s) business.

I am someone who has never written a negative review in their life but this needs to be said. I was looking at a vintage shirt and skirt set and asked to try it on. The owner quickly grabbed it out my hands and said "oh that is WAY too small for you". As she said this the two other young women in the store with me looked at me with wide eyes and quickly left. At this point I was insulted and livid. I tried on the set out of spite and it fit perfectly so I purchased it as the owner tried to backtrack and say she didn't know why she had said that. This store may have nice items but the owner is the complete opposite. No one deserves to be insulted and bullied while trying to support a small business. If you would like to leave the shop with your self-esteem intact I would recommend never stepping foot in this place. It is a mental health nightmare and the owner needs a lesson on how to behave like a decent human being.

The old woman who works in this store is INCREDIBLY nasty. I will never go back. She treated us like shoplifters, made rude comments about us and was mean to her dog. She was horrible. In addition, the store is cramped, fully of junk and smelly. Don't waste your time.

I seriously could not have felt more uncomfortable in this shop. The owner was absolutely rude and unwelcoming. They have a political sign in the window which is a total turnoff, and everything was incredibly overpriced. Main Street has some other great shops with very friendly owners, but this shop is NOT one of them. I will never visit this shop again.

I love shopping at Maxine’s Antiques. The shop owner and her puppy are very friendly. Maxine’s is one of the oldest shops in Historical Ellicott City and carries beautiful one of a kind jewelry, antiques, clothing and accessories. I’ve found so many unique treasures here!

Nice dog there very friendly unlike the owner who is rude as you walk in the shop. When asked questions about things the prices are anywhere to 40 or 75% per cent higher than elsewhere. If you take ebay into account then 200 to 300%. Guess she doesn't know about a online world. Don't stop by, nice things but not worth it by far.

Maxine has some of the best, most unique items ranging from high end estate jewelry to clothing to furniture. Charlene, the woman who works there, is a treasure!
