Historically we have had nothing but good things to say about block. This year our “tax professional” knew less than I did. I caught several of her mistakes. Her colleagues caught some of her mistakes when the system was forcing her to stop working. She kept playing it off as a team effort, but really she was just not capable at all to perform basic tax return functions.Might return based on previous experience, but definitely not to the same office. Clearly they can’t be trusted in Elkton, MD.

Fast and accurate. Doing the taxes online made scheduling and finding time way easier then having to take off work and going into the office. Me and my wife work completely different schedules so the "my block app" made everything easy

Me and my husband went to see Nancy on Monday, did our taxes and were asked to email some leftover forms in to her. We found the forms by the next day (because we recently moved it took a little while to find) and emailed them as soon as we found them. In the email, I asked Nancy to let me know when we could pick up our copy -assuming she would call us with any issues. I never got a correspondence from Nancy in return. On Wednesday, I called the office to speak with her and the receptionist kept me on hold. I waited so long that I had to hang up and tried again this morning.i got through but Nancy was with a client, understandably so, and the front seat said she'd call me back. Nancy never called me back but had the front desk relay that her supervisor took our packet but won't be back until next week. We were never informed that there was an issue, a lady who we don't even know the name of now has our information at home with her?? And they can't tell me when we can expect a call. This does not sit well with me. I have contacted customer service, and if I don't get our packet back (not even filed I just want our information returned today) I am calling the police.

I showed up on time for my 6:30PM appointment. I was told all I had to do was sign & pay. I waited 1 hour past my scheduled time and couldn’t even speak with Nancy, my tax “professional”, because she was running overtime with another client. After sitting down with another associate who didn’t even prepare my taxes, we realized that Nancy didn’t finish filing them, resulting in a mistake that would’ve cost me $1,200. The person I worked with was trying to ease my frustration, but she wrote it off as “just a mistake”. Having someone overpay by that much is not a mistake that should be taken lightly. After all of that, the best they could offer was $25 off their already unjustified prices. Terrible service. I do not and would never recommend anyone going here if they want their taxes done correctly, professionally, and at an affordable cost.

Had a 10:00 am apt. Arrived on time. Receptionist remained on the phone with another client for 14 minutes without acknowledging me, so I waited . Okay its 10:14 and I have a 10:00. Receptionist then proceeds to say that she cannot find my apt in the system but she remembers speaking to me to make the apt. Okay...? So she schedules me for a 10:30, at this point it's 10:22 , so I agree to wait. Meanwhile, I'm hearing what seems to be my tax agent behind a cubicle cackling with someone else talking about boats and vacations. Now its 10:47 and I leave. Receptionists runs after me and says that the agent is ready for me now. To which I respond, "I rather file with TurboTax". TurboTax is much cheaper, the only down side to TurboTax is that you have to send in everything yourself. That's why I initially went to HR Block. However, HR Block did not respect my time.
