Excellent people! I went to get my MD state inspection (easy and only took an hour and wasn’t very expensive) and while that was happening, my husband’s car died right in their parking lot. They took it in stride, asked a few questions, and diagnosed the problem in just a few minutes. The repair was very affordable. It’s out of the way but listen to all the good reviews they got!

I recently had my car undergo a Maryland state inspection at this facility and was thoroughly impressed by the efficiency and professionalism displayed from start to finish. The process of scheduling the appointment over the phone was straightforward and user-friendly. Upon arrival, they managed to complete the inspection within an hour, which was remarkably fast. The front desk staff was also commendable; they were not only welcoming but extremely patient in answering my queries regarding tire and brake maintenance. Great from the phone call to set up the appointment to receiving a call from Kevin to explain their finds on the multi-multi checks on the vehicle. No pressure in what was merely suggested, rather, “well we can always get it next time for you.” Very reasonable with pricing, explained the replacement parts, and offered complimentary service on something that was fixed last summer. Best thing, the vehicle ran beautifully!

When we moved to the area in 2015, I can't remember if I found API Auto Repair on Yelp or Google Reviews, or what, but when comparing ratings and customer comments, API seemed to be the best bet. So we tried them out. We've never left. Here are the two things I appreciate most about API. #1: honest and regular communication. #2: I've never had to come back because a repair was incomplete or done poorly. The quality of work is reliable and excellent. Honestly, I don't know if this is the cheapest place to go to. Probably not. But I do know they have been very generous to me at times, not charging me for things they could have. It's just nice to have a relationship with a mechanic where you don't have to worry; you can trust the work and the communication. We have an SUV that we brought to API beginning at 50k mi and now has 166k mi and still runs perfectly. We have a sedan that we brought to API beginning at 22k mi and now has 115k miles and still runs reliably. Grateful for how well they take care of us.

I went in for an oil change and API discovered an oil leak that could have potentially caused serious problems for my car in the future. No only were they able to fix the oil leak at a reasonable price, they took me back to show me the oil leak and where it was coming from. Based on my multiple experiences with API Auto Service, I am confident I am getting a fair price on necessary repairs.

Kevin and the crew at API Auto Repair are absolutely amazing! I brought in a 2006 STS in need of an inspection and some tlc. They worked with my crazy schedule and had her back to me in no time.
