TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I emailed them multiple times asking for a quote on services. When they finally did respond, did not show up for the meeting. I called the office during my scheduled meet time and the receptionist said to leave a voicemail because Katie was on a call. Terrible response and customer service. Don't bother with this business, there are lots of other CPA firms out there that actually want your business and value their potential customers.

I've been working with Katie for a few months now and she's been so wonderful to work with. As a new small business owner I have many questions and she has been so patient and helpful in helping me navigate so many areas. I can't recommend her enough.

Horrible experience. Not responsive. Unprofessional. This company didn’t file our 2019 taxes correctly and now we’re left trying to clean up their mess, which has cost us significant time and money. We tried to contact them regarding their error and was completely ignored. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS AND THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN YOU CALL THEM. THEY DUCK AND DODGE FOR DAYS AND RESPOND ON THE LAST DAY OF THE WEEK AND THEY ARENT OPEN ON FRIDAY. THEY WILL TAKE THOUSANDS FROM YOU AND WONT TELL YOU WHY UNTIL ITS TOO LATE

trashy experience they will take thousands in multiple withdrawals without saying a word. they dont return calls and wait until thursday to call you back from monday. they are not open on friday and wont take time to explain the process without an attitude. dont waste your time

For several years I relied on Katie Mongelli from Monarch CPA. About two years ago she moved to VA, and it seems that coming to MD to her faithful Maryland clients became a chore. I was one of them. I was relegated to an unknown office unknown whom I never met, and Katie passed along to her partial information. Katie still signed off on the tax returns, but the quality deteriorated, and last year, in April 2019 (tax year 2018) I received my tax return 24 hours before I received it with close to 20K in taxes! I asked to talk with her ASAP. I got an answer in January of 2020. Katie, I wish you well in Virginia.

I have tried to not to leave this comment for YEARS ... But Im assuming Ella has taken over this business and she made it like a hell . I have quick book and they filled my 2016 and 2017 , without log in to my account and I after I got problems with IRS ... they dont know what do to . For 2018 , I have dropped my papers and ducs at their virtual office which is a shame ( Look like they dont have money to rent a real office ) , and after 3 weeks they have not called me at all to file my taxes .

I began working with Monarch to provide accounting services and tax advisement for my LLC and then my partner and I worked with her on our taxes as well. Monarch was great at helping me set up quickbooks and teaching me how to manage my own records for my growing LLC and initially provided solid advise on putting myself on salary and helping to identify how my business could meet the demands of my household financially. However, the first year that Katie prepared our tax returns, there were several errors. She left off a significant chunk of income AND didn't even include our rental income property when we provided all of that information up front. Needless to say, when the IRS alerted us of this deficiency in our return, Katie not only didn't apologize for making the error, they suggested that we had not provided the information. Additionally, when the amended return was prepared by Katie and Monarch, it was still done incorrectly. The firm also has not officially agreed to pay the accrued interested (thousands of dollars) due to their mistake. My business account also got passed on to some new accountant who is never prepared when we talk, provided bad tax advisement, and doesn't even review the information I send to them before we talk. I have to continually over communicated in order to get the minimum of what I am paying for. And their fees increased this year! It, unfortunately, has been an all around disaster. The attention to detail, accuracy, preparedness when we have meetings or conversations, shows that there's a level of carelessness. We have moved on recently to a new accountant who has already identified additional things that Katie and her team missed in prior years. We have found a new accountant and find additional errors, forms missing from our previous returns. I would not recommend them at all. The communication is nonexistent, unless you initiate it, and the quality of service is lacking poorly. I regret that I didn't look at previous reviews before signing with her. And to our comfort, our new accounting firm ensures that if they make an error, they will be liable for any interest or fees to correct it. We had no contract with Katie which is a big no no. Subpar service, staff not equipped with knowledge and up to do date rules, and horrible customer service.

monarch cpa services has a great website with lots of useful resources, financial guides and calculators. I highly recommend contacting them for your accounting or tax needs and questions.

Katie is a nightmare. Stay away from her! She screwed up my taxes from the get go. Filed them with incorrect tax ID number. Failed to correct the problem. Did not inform me that two tax ID numbers were created and gave me the wrong information, resulting in years if returns being filed wrong. When I tried to contact her to get copies of the documents she files she would not return calls or emails for weeks. I had to go to her office and sit there and insist she provide me the documents to get them. It was a horrible experience.

Horrible. Stay away from Katie and her staff - the most incompetent accounting practice. They don't return phone calls or emails. My tax return was filed incorrectly and was notified by IRS. Huge sticker shock when I was told "no problem we handle returns like this all the time" They have no idea what they are doing. STAY OFF from MONARCH CPA and Katie. Just because you have CPA does not mean you know what you are doing....trust me. Don't waste your time or money. You have been warned.
