This review is specifically for the mortgage department of the bank regarding one loan officer in particular. I’m selling a house. The buyers went through this lender. He claims to have six years of experience but his actions and work ethic say otherwise, or he is simply lazy and/or self-absorbed. He made multiple assurances and stated specific necessary things were taking place or had already been completed in the loan/underwriting process in order for closing to occur that had not, in fact, actually happened at all, despite asking for and getting four extensions from me to push the closing date back. He told us on multiple occasions that underwriting had the file and would give us an answer the next day, when they didn’t actually receive the file for review until the very last week, a full month after he originally told us they had it and everything looked good so far. There were various loose ends that he told us were taken care of that he was still working on a month later. In addition, he was almost always slow to respond to emails or phone calls and often simply didn’t respond at all for a day or two, presumably because he didn’t have an answer to the question. I know these things to be true because I was forwarded every email from him when they were received, so I know his responses and when they were received. He alone caused a six week delay and potential loss of sale on my house. He did not seem to move on anything unless prompted by my realtor. He did not seem to be honest, forthright, or conscientious.
