UPDATE: the district manager reached out to me after reading my review. He apologized and helped me decide on the products I should use and ultimately he it right. I haven't had a chance to get the paint on the walls yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Thank you!

I'm a Damascus resident, and I desperately want the stores in our town to do well, but I could not be more disappointed in this place.
I went by today during my lunch break to ask for recommendations for my painting project and to get some samples. One employee couldn't help me find the color chip I was looking for because she "couldn't remember" how to look it up. Okay. You'd think this would be a common request, but I can give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she is new.
After finding the samples I wanted, I walked over to the gentleman at the counter and explained that I would be painting my master bedroom and showed him a color chip that matched the existing color as well as the color I wanted to paint. I asked for a product recommendation, and he looked at me like I had a third eye. "Um, well, most people use this one," he tells me as he gestures vaguely toward Emerald. No explanation as to why that one would be a good choice, no recommendation on whether I should use a primer or how many coats I should expect to paint. He didn't ask if I had brushes or rollers.
I was not ready to give up on him yet, so I asked, "Oh, okay. Can you tell me the difference between Emerald, Durability, and Super Paint?" "Uhhhhhhh...the difference?" he questions. "Yes, like which one is best for which applications... What features make Emerald stand out?"
He led me to a comparison display they had set up in the store but still provided no additional guidance or information. Sure, it had the info I needed, but I could've found that info online. I went into a physical store ~in the year 2024~ to get an actual professional's guidance.
Giving them yet another chance, I asked about buying a sample and which product the paint samples were... i.e., Emerald, SuperPaint, or some other product on the shelf. Again, looking at me blankly, he shrugged and said, "Um, it's kind of a secret...more of a Commercial 200." I'm actually *not* a professional painter, so "Commercial 200" means very little to me. So, to clarify, I asked, "It's not any of the products I'd be purchasing? So I couldn't see how the product goes on the wall. It's just to see the color on a larger swatch. Correct?" "Yeeeahhh?"
I have no idea if they were having an off day or if it was just that the D squad works on Wednesday afternoons, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
TL/DR: Employees are not knowledgeable about products. I won't go back.

This is not the place to go for paint color matching. No color match scanner and erroneously told unable to match color because I didn’t know the original paint color. I left the store and went to Lowe’s. I was in and out of Lowe’s with exact match in under 5 minutes.

I've used them multiple times to get all my painting supplies (unlimited paint colors, brushes, tape, rollers, tarps, etc). The employees are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Check back in with them because they routinely have discounts and sales to save you some money on any projects. I would definitely recommend using them for any painting needs.

This is probably my third store that I have went into from Sherwin-Williams. It ended being my favorite almost immediately. First, parking is plentiful. You will no doubt get a parking space and likely away from other people. It isn't packed at all. It is in a smaller town of Damascus, which adds to the fact that there is so much parking available. Next, the store is fairly clean. It was relatively well stocked and I was able to walk around and find things quickly. They had COVID precautions everywhere. The guards at the register, everyone with face masks, and stickers for social distancing. My one criticism is that the color wall is rather small here and with the 6 feet social distancing, it was hard to actually see the wall when someone was just chilling on the side checking their phone while waiting for others. Oh well, life isn't perfect. The staff was very knowledgeable about the products compared to the other stores that I have been to. I felt like my questions were answered well. I only had minor questions about drywall and paint adhesion, but the person in front of my had more complex questions regarding paint for a door. It was a Sunday so the staff was alone, but he worked hard to get to everyone quickly - even jogging from the register to the paint mixing station. Really hustled to get to people as quickly as they can. Between Sherwin-Williams and other paint brands, I think it really depends on the color and shading of the product that you want. If the walls are prepped well and the selection of product matches your project, then it will look great. Not all the products are great and the better ones tend to cost more. But, in my case, I was able to finish my product without any issues - well I needed a ladder for the stairwell and that took another trip, but that is another story for another day.
