I have several members of my family at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville and every time I visit I take great pride in the fact that they loved their country and made sacrifices for it. Whenever I visit here I see how well they maintain everything and I'm thankful knowing everything is well cared for.

A very quiet open space Veteran's Cemetery. A very well deserving place of interment for Maryland's Military Veterans.

Put flowers on my parents grave on Palm Sunday (for Easter). Always take the flowers (including the blessed palm from church) on Palm Sunday. My sister went today (6 days later) and just about all the Graves had been cleared including the flowers and palm on my parents. A little too soon...it was for Easter.

I was fortunate enough to be able to go the VA Cheltenham Cemetery on Easter Sunday with my husband so that he could pay his respect to his parents. It's hard to describe but it's a beautiful and solemn place. Extremely well maintained. Beautiful open area with rolling hills with many American flag waving proudly. There were a couple of dozen of other people making a visit to someone they know. You could see grief as they laid their flowers down or said a prayer but the fact knowing that someone's final resting place was well maintained must have been comforting to them. The main building (where military honors are provided) was going under some renovations. New roads have been completed to make driving around the area easier. Additionally, there is now an above ground columbarium. My husband told me (I was not there) that the military burial the VA provided for his father was beautiful and dignified. Anyone thinking about using this cemetery (for themselves or loved ones) should know that their final resting place would always be honored and respected.

I didn't share last year but this was an experience my children have talked about all year. We live 4 hours away and im glad I took them out of school to come to this. My son took his project from the year before and enjoyed showing it to the Veterans. The speaker gave him a coin that he loves and has it in a safe place in his room.

We entrusted our fathers ashes here in 2018 and we couldn't have picked a better place. They take very good care of the grounds and treated the family with respect and kindness when we needed them.

Went to visit my husband today and was really disappointed. Looks like people are bringing pets and not cleaning up after them. Even on my husband’s plot there were dog droppings and it was not just one spot I had to watch where I was stepping. How disrespectful
