Called my doctor’s office to find out why the repeated requests for medication refill are not being filled. The call center answered took another message and told me they do not have a number for the office directly and they cannot transfer me either.

They don't take Vision Insurance, despite being an optometrist office. They charged me $90 for an annual eye exam, which should have been fully covered by my insurance. The actual doctor was lovely, but don't go here.

While the care at this practice is typically good, sometimes it's not. The wait is insufferable. First you wait about an hour past your appointment time to be seen by anyone. The first person you see is just a technician. You end up waiting another half hour to be seen by the doctor. I have had many appointments over many years here, and it's only gotten worse. I understand there are emergencies. I have no problem waiting half an hour. If someone came out and apologized for the delay, perhaps it wouldn't make me so angry. However, I have learned that it is much quicker to be seen at Wilmer eye in Baltimore than Columbia.

I chose this team for my husband after careful research. He recently had cataract surgery, both eyes, and the entire experience was professional and his outcome has been extraordinarily positive. I highly recommend this center.

Awful patient care. Horrible office policy. 2 hours wait time to be rushed through something called evaluation!! Stay away from this practice. Columbia office management pay more attention to patients as humans not money.

When I arrived at 10:20 am today for my appointment here in the Columbia office, I was told that I was to early and would have to come back up to the desk 15 minutes prior to my appointment. This is poor customer service by refusing to check in patients for their scheduled appointments and making them return to the desk to check in. Please do better with providing customer service to your patients.

Excellent service. I was seen right away and had quality exam. This was a second opinion and found I didn’t need surgery. I will drive the extra 3 Hours each way to have this positive an experience.

Waited 1:15 minutes to be seen past my appointment time. When we checked in they said they were 20 minutes behind and never got updates. By the time the evaluation was over it was nearly 2 hours past my appointment. The doctor said to factor 2 hours anytime we had an appointment. No thanks. I will find a more efficient eye center.

By far the worst place to get an glasses. Waiting over an hours to just to get a eye prescription.
Avoid this place if you can!

Terrible customer service while scheduling/rescheduling appointment. Simply no courtesy and empathy at all. I would give a half star if I could.

I had surgery last week and the entire team was wonderful. Their attitude relaxed me prior to the surgery, and were also great in recovery. Dr. Richardson was honest and reassuring with me. I can't thank them enough!! BTW- anesthesiologist , Dr Nguyen, was also great- being born and bred in Boston made all the difference!!!!!!

The doctors and staff in Columbia are great. Yes, the office does get pack, but that also tells you how sought after this practice is. Too many negative complaints, but not an understanding as to why appts are pushed months after to meet patient demand. They even expanded their practice to the first floor.

Wilmer Eye Institute website they referred me to find an ophthalmologist who performs routine eye exam is wrong. They have MDs listed there and it says specifically that they will do eye exam, but after I called and the receptionist wasted 10 min of my time asking demographic questions she informed me that their board certified doctors of ophthalmology won't perform routine eye exams! Web site should be corrected ASAP to indicate this key point, otherwise you are giving your patients the message that their time is not important to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
