6470 Freetown Rd #240, ColumbiaI have taken my cat Neo to Dr Yadiapalli at Freetown Animal Hospital for 9 years. He has recently had a health issue, and she has been wonderful in helping diagnose and treat him. She initiates contact with his Internal Med Dr. and helps me understand his condition and treatment plan. She is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and kind.

Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists
10000 Old Columbia Rd Suite E, ColumbiaCVSS operated on our 13 yr old male cat, Potter. His right anal gland burst and abscessed twice during Covid-19. The second time was while waiting for an appointment with CVSS, but they were operating in a limited capacity. This was emergent, so it was allowed.Dr. Keats performed the surgery and he was excellent. Having over 20 yrs of soft tissue surgical experience, he kept us informed before and after surgery as we were not allowed in with him. When he called with the results of the biopsy, it was a terminal diagnosis, but he did it with such care and concern. He never said the words cancer or terminal. Turns out, this is a very rare cancer in cats that chemo and radiation can't treat.Together, we came up with a treatment plan of him seeing Potter bimonthly to determine regrowth and put him on kidney food bc Dr. Keats noticed year over year blood results that my normal vet didn't. There are only so many surgeries they can do as the nerves in that area tell a cat when they need to hit the litter box. They are very responsive to email and phone calls. You definitely get what you paid for. Guardians always want the best for their animal, and CVSS is definitely the best.

Animal Dental Center
8890 Centre Park Dr #100, ColumbiaMy pom went in for his dental. Usually my vet does the cleaning but his k9 was lose, and I was referred there. Dr. Kim was awesome and comforting. She explained everything in detail and why he needed all his teeth remove. She was so sweet to both me and my pom. After the surgery, she sent me pictures of before, during and after, which I very much appreciate. I also like that they are very thorough with the pre-op. The front desk was very nice. Overall, I had a good experience. For improvement -- with the amount of money you pay, I feel like we all should have a red carpet treatment. As soon as you walk into the place, it says something about if your dog poop/pee, it’s your responsibility to clean up. I think they should have a warmer welcome sign. As a pet parent, I’m nervous as it is. If our dogs poop/pee, help us clean it up especially the amount we’re paying. While we’re holding our babies who could be in pain and nervous, let us just focus on that. My poms never poop and pee in a doctor’s office before, but I feel for other pawrents. Lastly, I do think the price is outrageous. It was almost $5000!

VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Centre Park
8895 Centre Park Dr Suite AB, ColumbiaDr. Wolf, Bess, Laurie, and the rest of the team were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! ♥️ We brought our cat to VCA due to an illness that needed urgent attention/treatment and they got us in the very next morning on a Saturday (even though we had never been here before and I called them late Friday evening). They also worked with us on the finacial side and we were able to get our cat the medications she desperately needed to get back to her healthy, happy self! She's back to doing all the things-- lounging, basking in the sun, eating, purring, and licking her plastic bags! THANKS VCA of Columbia!!! ?

VCA Lewis Animal Hospital
10665 MD-108, ColumbiaI took my newly adopted kitty here for her post adoption wellness exam. The overall experience was wonderful. The facility is clean, bright, and comfortable. Check-in was seamless, and Chickadee's checkup went very well. Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. Dr. Wenzel took time to answer all my questions and offered a lot of great info/care tips. Would love to keep going here for primary care for Chicka, but it is a great deal of a distance from where I live ? and wish they were closer. I will definitely keep this place in mind as an alternative.

VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory Ridge
10788 Hickory Ridge Rd, ColumbiaHave been a client of VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory RIdge for over a year now. Turns out several of my dog training friends also go to Dr. Kelso as their veterinarian. She is very experienced, knowledgeable, listens to all my questions and concerns, and is a wonderful combination of expertise and warmth. I am a retired physician so I have lots of questions. Dr. Kelso is patient and allows me to ask questions of the treatment plan so that we can come to something that we are both comfortable with. Both my rescue mixes compete in various dog sports and Dr. Kelso understands the demands of that, being a competitive handler herself. Completely satisfied and pleased with Dr. Kelso as our primary vet. Saw Dr. Moldenhauer for an emergency allergic reaction visit and she was reassuring and took good care of my dog. The support staff and the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this practice.

Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology
10000 Old Columbia Rd Suite E, ColumbiaWhen our foxhound was first diagnosed with lymphoma, our vet recommended we go here for her treatment. We were not disappointed. They have been kind and helpful through all of her treatments, and without their help we would have lost our darling Trixy. Next week is her final treatment and we cannot be more pleased with the care we received.

Wagging Lounge Dog Resort
9315 Snowden River Pkwy M, ColumbiaMy border collie, Mia, has been going to Wagging Lounge Resort since she was first vaccinated as a puppy. Now four years old, she still loves it as much as ever, both the people and the dogs. The team there captures amazing photos and fun music videos, giving us a glimpse of how much our fur babies are enjoying themselves. I would easily rate this place a 10! I never have to worry about Mia when she's there. She's also been boarded at Wagging Lounge, and because she's so familiar with it, she treats it like her second home. Thank you, Wagging Lounge!

Club Pooch
9147 Red Branch Rd # G, ColumbiaJust dropped off my dog for an evaluation for the doggy daycare and the team did an amazing job reassuring me that everything would be okay! They even met me outside and took my dog inside for me as I spoke with someone else about how the day goes and giving me a tour. They answered all my questions before I signed the paperwork and still reassured me throughout the process how skill ed their employees are to care for the dogs, including how to read the body language of the dogs before anything bad could happen. So I’ve been told, the worst thing that could happen, is a few scratches from typical playing. Their intake process went very smooth and professional. It definitely made me feel comfortable leaving my dog there without me (mind you, my dog is my 1st dog and he’s only 9 months old right now).

Pups Dog Obedience Training
9050 Red Branch Rd, ColumbiaWe love PUPS Dog Obedience Training. We have a high-drive, working Labrador retriever named Mason who has gone through the puppy course, 8-week obedience course, rally courses, and competitive obedience training with Karen and Kristin. They have always been there for us every step of the way through success at his first trial, and the many challenges that come with training a dominant, high-drive dog. I daresay that Mason would be a VERY different dog if not for our training with PUPS (and not in a good way).
For the last few years, we have also boarded Mason with PUPS when we are away. As stated previously, Mason is a high-drive, dominant dog. Karen and Kristin are about the only people we trust to keep Mason safe, stimulated, and healthy when we are out of town. PUPS boarding is unique in that they do not let dogs run/play together in a big room, unlike many other kennels in the area. Kristin provides many long walks for the dogs that are staying, plays with them individually, and they even have a dog treadmill used for some dogs if it is too hot to exercise/walk outside. PUPS also communicates very well throughout your dog's stay and administers any sort of medication your dog needs. Kristin has even taken our dog to the vet in the past in an emergency situation.
Mason is 11 years old, and we will continue to lean on PUPS as long as we have training/boarding needs. When the time comes (hopefully not too soon), we'll use PUPS for any future dogs we have as well. Karen and Kristin are truly the best! I cannot recommend or review them highly enough.

Ranazul
6420 Freetown Rd suite 120, ColumbiaGreat food and drinks. Menu was a bit too Americanized for me, but it was great. We ALL really liked what we ordered. I'd love to see this restaurant be a tad more adventurous and authentically Peruvian, if that's what they're going for. Will be hoping for Tacu Tacu, aji de gallina or even a super juicy lomo saltado.

Oversea Distillery
9315 Snowden River Pkwy Suite J, ColumbiaLove coming to this play for Friday night Jazz! It has a wonderful lounge atmosphere and there is a good variety of drinks.
I would love to rate this place 5 stars, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of the food here. I feel like this bar should have really banging food for how nice it looks, but the food is lacking flavor. I also wish they didn't use the cardboard style containers for serving food in such a nice bar, makes it feel like a sports bar and not the vibe of the rest of the place. Also, this is a place I would love to take my girlfriend, but there is not one vegetarian entrée. Atleast there should be an impossible burger or blackbean burger.
Just a couple of my thoughts. I love having this place around Columbia and want them to use this constructive criticism to improve on what they have. Will continue to have some drinks and enjoy the vibes here!

The Ale House Columbia
6480 Dobbin Center Way, ColumbiaA couple weeks ago, we dropped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. When we got to the parking lot, we saw a small-ish looking place that looked like it belongs on a pier somewhere. Korean tacos were really good, fish and chips were fantastic, beer selections were good. Our waitress was friendly, didn't complain about some modification requests, and checked on us enough without hovering. The place was much bigger inside than it appeared from the outside, and the layout leaves space between the tables, so you are not cramped together with people bu.ping the backs of your seats. Nice place, friendly people, if I am in the area again I will certainly stop back in.
