i work in the merriweather district area, specifically near color burst park and have since this area started with the charmery. parking in this area is extremely difficult because merriweather’s parking is directly next to these restaurants. i park in the outside lot of one of the parking garages whenever i go to work. whenever merriweather has concerts they funnel everyone into this garage and block the lot with cones even when it is empty and the area is not busy. the garage in which they have parking doesn’t have elevators (5 total floors…) and gets packed when merriweather is busy. this deters people from going into the many restaurants in this area because of how crazy it gets and how inaccessible parking is for people. i understand that merriweather needed a parking garage but this is not the place for it. and please remove the cones, they are not needed.
Update: 5-29-24, put up the same cones at 9 am, absolutely no one in the area. what is the need for this. have to park in the garage that has no service or elevators. don’t understand what the reasoning behind blocking off a perfectly good lot is dead here.

Nice Anthony Howe kinetic sculpture. I wish the wind was blowing more, but still beautiful.

Remember all those Columbians who would complain about the concert noise in the Columbia Flyer? Well, can you believe people actually think it's a good idea to live next door to the venue? Don't be fooled. This will turn into section 8 with the rest of Columbia apartments in no time, just like Swift Stream Place across the street.

There’s a reason it’s so cheap. The ice doesn’t get resurfaced so it’s all cut up and hard to skate. Also there are no guidelines being enforced it says 36 people at a time but there were well over 50

Seeing the beautiful new sculpture, “Azlon I,” by Anthony Howe is worth repeated visits to see it in different light and wind conditions.
