Be aware that this Harris Teeter sales expired products. Look at the expiration dates on whatever you purchase, especially if it's on sale. For the price you pay you should not have to worry about that, but I've found this issue throughout the store.

Sometimes this Harris Teeter has kind and friendly staff who are welcoming and often humorous. Harris Teeter is more expensive than other local markets, though cheaper than Wegmans and Aldi, depending on what you're buying. I primarily visit this location for deli meats and cheeses, but since 2022, the quality has significantly declined. Lately, every visit I've purchased meat from their deli, they cut their meats into thick, narrow slices (see picture attached), which don't hold well on sandwich bread or sub rolls. Online ordering for the deli department is also problematic. From March to December 2023, almost all of my orders via the order-ahead app were incorrect, missing items, or both, rendering the service ineffective. Additionally, there are recurring issues with the app or order processing system. Each time I ordered beef pastrami, I received turkey pastrami, despite explicitly indicating "beef." This has forced me to order in person, hoping someone is available to assist. Lastly, there seems to be a shortage of staff in the deli. Even during off-peak hours, I often find myself waiting because the few available workers are occupied with other tasks. Once again, I ordered a sub online, waited for about 5 minutes for a deli worker to notice me, the Sushi guy did, but no deli workers. They made me waste my time and gas again coming to this store just to tell me that they didn't have any sandwich meats available so they could not make my sub. A simple phone call or email would have been nice!
Overall, I'm not impressed with this location, but it is conveniently close to home. Improvements are needed to enhance the customer experience.

Decent store, except they want your phone number to buy soap.

Deli employees are incapable of shaving deli meats. Cashiers place chemical products like soap & cleaning products in the same bags as edible foods. Poor customer service. Tried this location several times and will not be coming back.

Love my Harris Teeter!!! It's my favorite "complete" grocery store, Aldi is great but they are missing many items.
Update 8/2022 still my favorite!!!
Update 5/2023 still the best!!!
Still the same ...

Disappointed with recent experiences at my local Harris Teeter on Guildford Road.
On multiple occasions, I've encountered expired or moldy items in the bakery and deli sections. Additionally, wait times have been excessively long, suggesting understaffing at the service counters.
I've also experienced issues with the order-ahead app, including order cancellations due to technical problems and receiving incorrect items despite providing detailed instructions.
While Harris Teeter typically offers a positive shopping experience, these recent issues have been frustrating.
Here's what could be improved:
Product freshness: Implementing stricter quality control measures in the bakery and deli departments.
Staffing levels: Ensuring adequate staffing at service counters to minimize wait times.
Order-ahead app: Improving app reliability and accuracy to guarantee order fulfillment and correctness.
By addressing these concerns, Harris Teeter can regain its reputation for providing a high-quality shopping experience. Thanks

I was shopping a few weeks ago and picked up a package of gluten free crackers that had an expired date. I brought it to the front desk to let them know and they thanked me. Today, I found that same package on the shelf for sale. Expired product on the shelf for sale happens a lot on this store. They need to get their act together.

Place is usually stocked. Associates that I have come in contact with are friendly and helpful. Prices are kind of expensive compared to other grocery stores but I go because it is convenient.

Been shopping here for over 5 years and have never had any problems. Parking lot can get crazy but that's expected. Store is always well stocked and clean. Employees are friendly and helpful. The Starbucks inside is usually pretty consistent, just depends on who is working. Just ignore any of these 1 and 2 star reviews, they're being so petty.

Fruit selection and quality isn't the best, but otherwise good neighborhood grocery store. Best line management I've ever seen - when lines start to get long, someone will go to an unopen register and take the next customer from a neighboring line. This speeds up the longest lines and addresses customers in the order they arrived. And if you don't want to deal with a cashier, they have 6 self checkout stations. Some take credit only, so may be better to do the full service line if you want to pay cash. Self check-out is slow to register items that have been placed on the scale, so it can it can get frustrating if you have a lot of small items that would otherwise be quick to scan.

I hate going in a grocery store where I'm made to be like a thief. Self service the cashiers speak if your white especially the young women thats currently at the self service line. Doesn't part her lips to say hello at all just frowns and walks around you like your stealing. Im very uncomfortable at self service. But I also hate going to the cashiers because all the ones I had are rude. You already have cameras posted in our faces Im sure that would already detour potential criminals but walking behind me watching my every move is insane & its only towards the black people because i watch how the other customers are treated. Im sick of it. I don't want a gift card to shut up this time. Im going to speak my truth.

Looks nice on the outside, but inside, a lot of improvements can be made. The bathroom is a mess, never clean, smells awful, floors are always wet (not with water). Then, in the bakery, they lack quality control. I have seen a few loaves of moldy bread on the shelf, as well as muffins that grow mold within a day of purchasing. This is due to the baked items being placed into its container before it has cooled down completely. The employees are nice though.
