I travel to the area every few months. The Giant at Owen Brown Village Center is conveniently located! I stop here often to pick up snacks and other items that I need. The staff and management are awesome and helpful! Great bakery and deli with a ton of fresh items! This is my go to when I am staying around the Owen Brown area!

Good customer service from the cashier and short lines so I was able to get in and out of the store quickly.

We visited from out of town and decided we wanted late night sweets, so we stopped for a bakery run. First, we noticed that one set of doors seemed to be shut down. Second, there was a grumpy looking police officer as soon as we walked through the doors. Third, the smell of fish permeated the entire store and accosted our nostrils from the front entrance onward. Fourth, no cashiers and the automated checkout machines were awful! Why are the machines so loud and sensitive? They were also visibly dingy and dirty. You can't scan and then bag your items; you have to set them on the scale in the bagging area, or the machine will not let you scan your next item. The machines would completely dissuade me from visiting again, and it called for cashier assistance for no reason, which slowed down the whole process. Fifth, apparently, you have to be a loyalty member to take advantage of clearance prices (discounted after Christmas candies), but the cashier gave us the discount since he was already wrangling the machine. Sixth, we were unimpressed with the quality of our baked goods (individual tiramisu, lemon raspberry cake, and lemon meringue pie). Even the kid in our group said, "we should have gone to Wegmans."

This location has a better produce section than your average Giants in the area. They have a lot of holiday stuff currently on clearance. The Floral department has seen some serious improvement over the last few months.

Went to this store today and purchased $100 worth of groceries and other items. Self checkout clerk came up to me and asked me if I had rang up my three balloons. I replied yes she walked away and returned back only to ask if do I mind if she checked. While she did so, I told her I have no reason to lie as these were some of the first things I scanned in. I reported this behavior to the store manager Brandon who apologized but that doesn't change the fact that this employee tried to insinuate I was stealing! I was truly insulted that she would think I would steal $15 ($4.99 each) worth of balloons when I purchased steaks chicken and other items that was over $100 total! They need to train their employees better. Everyone does NOT steal and that type of treatment to patrons is totally unacceptable!

Use to go to the store a lot. Not any more with the store being closed at 10 PM. It is a shame that theft at the store cut back the hours.

**Edit since some representative responded: I've already called that number....over 7 times and I'm still in the same boat. I was transferred to Blackhawk and they asked, "...How did you get this number?" Apparently y'all transferred me to a number that was meant for internal use only! The representative, Alex, felt so bad about the situation that she gave me a case number to call your location AGAIN to have it escalated and every time I've called, they've given different instructions or flat out told me there was nothing they could do... I did find one of the receipts, still not enough. This is a joke and I wish I could take this one star away. I'm reiterating....PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH OWEN BROWN GIANT AND THEIR FAULTY GIFT CARDS.Shame because I grew up in the neighborhood and went back to see that they need police officers out front AND there was no money on any of the gift cards that I purchased for my niece and nephew's birthday. It appears on my bank statements, but I didn't think to keep the receipts because I didn't even know this could happen!I called the week of 9/10 and the phone just rang...I called again on 9/22 to see if they could add the money or refund me and was told to call back when Gloria, the person that handles gift cards, was in. She mentioned that she couldn't tell me her work hours so I had to guess -_-.Today, I called for Gloria and was immediately passed to someone else that said I cannot be refunded because they have no proof that I was at the Owen Brown Giant, the only one that I ever visit in Columbia.Do NOT buy your gift cards here.... I'm not the only one that ran into the issue but I'm the only one that tried to resolve it before disputing it with my bank, which will likely cost Giant more money and me more time, smh.

The moment you enter the store it smells like a 10 cat litterbox! Be warned. I honestly don’t know how people shop here. Management please fix the odor problem!

So far so good. I often use the curbside pickup which is a wonderful feature. The few times I have been inside the building seemed clean and the staff is nice. Downside, they seem to frequently be out of things I need.
