Highly recommended. I've known Dr. Cheng for several years now, seeking treatment about five years ago and now again for a different health matter. I am a chronic pain patient with an underlying neurological disease and spinal fusions/decompression. I have sought care with several other providers over the course of the past years - both abroad (lived outside the U.S.) and here on the east coast. Dr. Cheng is the only physician here in the U.S. who was able to help me. He is thorough and takes an account of your status at each visit. He explains the treatment and also listens to your thoughts/input. It took much time because my condition was pretty bad having maxed out my pain/CNS system following spine surgery, but I recovered fully. I've recommended Dr. Cheng to a few of my friends/colleagues, too. I like the fact that he doesn't push you with the treatment - he does what he thinks will be the most effective but listens to the patient as he's treating. I've felt both comfortable and confident in him and the treatment plan.

Dr. Cheng has been very helpful in relieving my back and hip pain as well as other issues. His office is very relaxing and I am so glad that he is covered by my insurance.

Initially, I sought acupuncture in 2020 to relieve some symptoms from a Chiari I Malformation just before the pandemic. I had only 7 out of the scheduled 10 treatments due to COVID; however, I felt immensely better after only the first few.I returned for only two treatments in March 2023 due to a swollen left ankle (Achilles tendinitis). It was two months from our daughter’s wedding and I did not want to be limping… After the first treatment, the weakness, pain and swelling were almost completely gone!At that time, Dr. Cheng explained the weakness/swelling in my ankle was in direct relation to the UB meridian. Oddly enough, I had been to the ER in January for a kidney stone! I was told I needed to schedule surgery, pay a deposit, etc. Being a 5mm stone wedged in the ureter, I had a 50-50 chance of passing it…Dr. Cheng advised there was an old family herbal remedy for kidney stones available if I wanted to try. I told him I would first attempt to pass the stone naturally on my own.I did not really have any symptoms (flank or back pain or urinary issues) so after the wedding, I decided to go to urgent care and get an X-ray; it was inconclusive. I continued to drink 64-96 oz of water with lemon juice each day.As I have elderly parents and grandchildren to care for, I decided to return to Dr. Cheng and ordered the herbal medicine in June. He advised I take a level scoop in an ounce of hot water three times daily. From time to time, I experienced twinges here and there but no pain to speak of.I just had a physical and told my primary I was unsure about the stone. She ordered a CT. I just received the results this morning - “negative for kidney stones”!Thank you, Dr. Cheng. I am once again a firm believer of Chinese medicine and acupuncture. My seasonal allergies were cured almost 30 years ago by another herbalist doctor who passed away. I definitely recommend you every chance I get. Thanks again!

I can't recommend Dr Cheng enough. I believe he's a third generation Chinese medicine doctor (if I'm getting this right, his father and grandfather were also doctors) so I knew right away I was in good hands. I saw him for several months (approx 6-7) and when he concluded my treatment was finished and that it had been effective, I saw my western doctor--she concluded the same. Not only is he highly skilled, but he's also very compassionate and knowledgeable. He talked me through each session, commenting on what was going on with my system, suggested foods and lifestyle changes I could make to augment the acupuncture treatments. I recommend Dr Cheng to anyone who wants to heal their issue from the root of the problem. I've seen several acupuncturists over the past couple of decades--he is by far the most skilled and effective I have ever worked with. Very grateful I found him when I did! Thanks so much Dr Cheng!

To everyone this is my story about Mr Cheng. My background is professional boxer i hurt my right hand. I went to see about 4 different hand doctors. And all 4 of them suggested that I would need surgery for my hand and I might not be able to box again. I was not trying to hear that. So my wife suggested why don't I try acupuncture. And I did . Mr Cheng saved my boxing career. But any pain I have i come see him and he fixes it. Its amazing how he fixes you I've sent a lot of my family friends to see him . All of them love his work . Dr. Cheng is godsend!! I suffered severe menstrual pain that limited my activities. My obgyn recommended oral contraceptives and warned me about the side effects. I came to Dr. Cheng and after 2 acupuncture sessions, I no longer have the severe pain during menstrual cycles and able to enjoy activities with no pain!!! Dr. Cheng is a highly skilled traditional Chinese medicine doctor. He starts off each session listening to my pulse, then determine the treatment plan for me. This traditional examination and treatment have been practiced for thousands of years and I have witnessed its miracle on me!! Dr. Cheng’s clinic is clean and comfortable, his technique is so incredible with no discomfort on my end at all, he always takes time to discuss treatment and perform acupuncture on me, never made me feel rushed. I am going to Dr. Cheng regularly and highly recommend Dr. Cheng!!

I was referred by one of your long time patients. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and was suffering from severe pain, used a cane to walk and could not straighten by back. The first treatment helped tremendously. I return for several treatments and I was able to stand up straight and the pain went away. Thank you Dr. Cheng!

There’s a reason there’s nothing but 5 star reviews for Dr. Cheng’s Acupuncture. He is the TRUTH! I was experiencing some weird pain going down pretty much my whole left side and part of my right. Dr. Cheng listened to my concerns, checked my pulse, and told me exactly what was wrong with me. We did acupuncture that first visit (he’s very gentle!) and I felt instant relief, however, the pain did come back but Dr. Cheng mentioned that would happen as the herbs are responsible for the long-term healing. I had to wait a few weeks to get my herbs but I didn’t mind. I went back for another treatment (had another after that for a total of 3) and to pick up my herbs. The herbs didn’t taste too bad and I finished all 5 bottles. They were slightly pricey but ABSOLUTELY worth it! I decided to wait to leave this review to see if the herb/acupuncture combo worked. It’s been months and I feel great. I’m about to schedule an appointment for another issue I’ve heard acupuncture is helpful with.

Dr Cheng has been my preferred Acupuncturist for over a decade. Customer service is Dr Cheng's top priority! He walks you through the process with ease and confidence. Dr Cheng's in-depth understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been the cure for several physical aliments experienced by me over the years. Dr Cheng first line is "Stick out your tongue" ?? By examining your tongue he gains some insight on your overall health and condition. The fact that he does this with accuracy is fascinating to me. Dr Cheng has treated me for aliments as severe as a herniated disc after a car accident, migraines, sinusitis, to debilitating PMS symptoms. I traveled to West Africa and prior to my departure I contracted Malaria. Luckily for me I did not get sick or show symptoms until I was back on American soil. Once I was released from the hospital after inpatient stay, I called Dr Cheng and scheduled a appointment. Dr Cheng told me he could help me and he did everything in his power to help me heal fully. Dr Cheng has always been warm and welcoming. He's honest and hard working and he makes every visit worthwhile. Over the years I have and will continue to recommended friends, family, and strangers alike to Dr Cheng. Simply put I believe in the level of healing Dr Cheng provides to his patients. Dr.Cheng is amazing. My doctors were recommending painkillers and cortisol shots for my chronic hip bursitis. Dr. Cheng did one treatment for me and I didn’t have any pain for 4 months. I will continue to go to him!

Dr. Cheng is a miracle worker, who understands how the body works and things are connected.I was diagnosed with osteoporosis after a spinal fracture. Turns out my kidneys excreted almost double the top level of calcium. After seeing Dr. Cheng and his customized herbal approach, my levels are now only on the top level.He improved not only my kidney function, but also fixes my gut for better absorption and seasonal allergies. I had no symptoms this year!Due to the fracture I had constant pain in my lower back for 1.5 years. PT helped mobility but not the pain. One acupuncture session and the pain is gone and hasn't returned since. That was earlier this year.Additionally I had a skin condition on my feet since over 40 years, that I didn't mention to him. I tried cutting, freezing and burning it out, hypnosis prayer and homeopathy and tea tree oil, you name it. Nothing. In the middle of the first treatment it just disappeared, gone it is!I absolutely love him! He is very compassionate and highly skilled!!!Who can text with their doctor late at night when you have a little question?I now send everyone to him and am confident that this is the way to go for any chronic illness!!!!Well worth the expense!Thank you Dr. Cheng

Dr. Chengzhang Shi is an amazing acupuncturist! I highly recommend him!He has helped me TREMENDOUSLY for my (1) shoulder pain, (2) hernia, and (3) general overall health. His acupuncture AND herbal formulas that are personalized for your specific condition (to be consumed at home) have been extraordinary! Athletes should specifically consider obtaining his treatments/counsel as he has fixed so many of my soft tissue injuries (e.g., ligaments and/or tendons) that occurred while I was playing sports. Truly a miracle!!In addition to his superior knowledge of acupuncture, Dr. Shi is a very considerate and generous person. His kind attitude and warm predisposition makes the acupuncture treatment experience that much more effective and enjoyable. As stated above, I would highly recommend Dr. Shi for anyone who is interested in receiving acupuncture treatment.

I have been seeing Dr. Cheng now for several months and I can attest that having acupuncture combined with herbs specifically made for my condition, has helped me tremendously. I started seeing Dr. Cheng for my sciatica pain. In November 2021, I got up from bed just as usual, and a few minutes later I had a sharp pain in my lower back that shot all the way down to my toes. After a sleepless night and a progressively increasing pain, by this time being unable to put any pressure in my right leg, I went to the urgent care and was told I had an herniated disc which is affecting the sciatica nerve. I was prescribed multiple pain medication and went to physical therapy twice a week, I still got no reprieve. One of my clients told me he had a similar issue but the only thing that helped him was acupuncture. Before this, I have never had acupuncture in my life and I am extremely scared of needles (ok I admit it, I am petrified of needles), however the pain I had with the Sciatica I was willing to try anything… it was that unbearable.After the first session with Dr. Cheng I felt some relief. What I like about Dr. Cheng is that he reads both pulse before each session and tracks how the issue he is treating is improving and modifies the treatment as the area heals. I also have issues with fibroids and heaving bleeding which we treat alternately. Over the last few months, with the acupuncture and herbs my sciatica has healed (95% if I have to give a range) it no longer affects my day to day life, occasionally I have a little pinch here or there but no pain or significant discomfort ( I truly believe I only have this 5% remaining because I have not been as consistent with my herbs as I was told to be by Dr Cheng).As it relates to my fibroids and the heavy bleeding I experienced each month, while I still have heavy bleeding it is significantly less than it was before I started the acupuncture and herbs and I no longer have the huge clots that I did before. I believe that Dr Cheng is an expert at what he does. I highly …. Highly…. Did I saw highly? ? I recommend his service without hesitation, I have had so many of my friends and family try acupuncture for various ailments including stress, fatigue and stroke recovery… just to name a few and everyone has had significant improvements. Oh and I am still scared of needles, but not the ones Dr Cheng administers, there is absolutely no pain or discomfort if there is even a slight flinch when he administered the acupuncture he removes it… there is no pain in acupuncture! Give him a try… I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I struggled with infertility and losses for several years but with Dr.Cheng’s help and careful consideration to my specific condition we were finally able to stay pregnant and have our baby last month. Highly recommend!
