I have an estate account here for my mother and I'm trying to get her taxes filed and they need some paperwork that I unfortunately don't have. So I contacted the bank today and I spoke with a woman. God I wish I would have asked her name...
She informed me I would have to pay for every individual paper that they had to print out and when I asked why she said I was paying for their time and It was my responsibility to keep all my paperwork together..
Needless to say I was very upset with her remark so I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude or her lecture considering I was going through a very rough time with losing my mother. So a few pieces of paper got misplaced. That's why I have an account with them and asked them to print it. All I did was ask for why I would have to pay for the papers when I have an account with them and she gave me the nastiest attitude ever.
I asked her if I would be able to come and pick up the paperwork tomorrow considering it should only be about 6 or 7 pages that you have to print and she said they would have to work on it in between customers. Mine knew this branch is not a very busy Branch I've been in here multiple times. There's absolutely no reason why any of the five people who work in there can't print something off very easily for me all within a few minutes of each other. Considering it's only a few pages I need printed. She said they would call me when the paperwork was complete and I already know I'll probably be waiting at least a month for it...
When I close this account with m&t. I will never ever ever reconsider ever opening another account with m&t in my entire life.

The people working are very kind and I haven't had problems with them. We use to go m&t that use to be in big elk mall in acme but when they closed that one we started going to this one and I haven't had any issues or problems with them.

Normally, I do all my transactions online but I went in to deposit a check. The Teller made me feel that I was bothering her. She said no more than two words to me through the whole transaction. I thought she was very unprofessional and rude. I will not be going back to that branch. I am re-thinking of changing banks.

Opened a business checking in branch. Tried to close my account after more than 6 months. I was given a full run around from this branch. Janet is very unfriendly. She multiple times made rude comments about me calling to close my account rather than drive the round trip hour in to the branch to close. She spoke with Theresa who was not the slightest bit helpful as a manager. First I was told on 10/21 to take the $10 out of my account so they could close it via docusign. Then in 11/5 when the money was out they told me they were going to charge a $10 “analysis fee.” They advised I need to put $10 BACK IN the account to pay the fee. Ridiculous service from a bank. Not to mention Janet was quite rude and ignored my repeated requests for her name. I finally had to say “all I am asking is for you name for the CFCB complaint.” Do not bank here. Customer service is non existent and they make you feel like a criminal for wanting to close your account.

What a sour, old, dried up puss of a teller Janet Byington is! My God I'd chew my arm off to get away from that! Smileless, lifeless, unfriendly prude that I wouldn't ask to spit on me if I was on fire. Uggh. But sadly, par for the course for M and T Bank. I did NOT choose them. They bought out my mortgage company. :/

I don’t understand the Hate here.Whenever I need something, have a question, or have had an issue- The one time my account was overdrafted.They’ve quickly handled the issue and were pleasant to me.Janet is the Teller that usually helps me each time, she’s pleasant, straight to the point, and direct. Doesn’t give false information either.

They couldn't help her with wat she needed done so they wasn't much of a help I don't use a bank anyway I rather have cash instead of a banking account but an account is still good for if u wanna sell stuff on ebay or something like that

I, too, don’t know what all the negativity is for. I’ve never had a problem with the staff or with making any adjustments to my accounts. They have always been very kind and helpful. If there was ever something I didn’t know or understand I always asked and got my answer.
