Rude and unprofessional staff. I was supposed to have a package delivered to me at 6 pm today that I was supposed to sign for. Around 3 pm, I received a status notification that said, “No Access to Delivery Location”. That confused me, because as far as I knew, there was nothing blocking anyone from accessing to the house. I called the post office, and the woman on the phone claimed she was the one who tried to deliver my package. She said the reason it wasn’t delivered was because I didn’t answer the door when she knocked. I didn’t hear any knock, and I worked from home in my room the whole day. I did a test where I put my phone on record, left it in my room, went to the front door, and knocked softly, medium, and loudly. The only one I couldn’t hear on the recording was the soft one. I can hear the front door just OPEN from my bedroom; so if she knocked, it would’ve had to have been one of the softest knocks on planet earth. I unfortunately don’t have a doorbell–not my fault, because I only rent a room on the property; I don’t own it. All properties I own would have a doorbell. The point is, this woman had no problem getting to the house. So they screwed up on the status notification, because that’s not the message you would send if someone was not at the door to sign for the package. You would send one that says, “Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)”. I know all of this stuff, because I can’t trust many workers these days to know or care about anything. Anyway, I was trying to explain about the correct status notification that should’ve been sent to me for the woman on the phone. But I guess she doesn’t like it when customers are intelligent, because she wouldn’t let me finish. She interrupted me and went on this rant about how she knocked on the door and waited outside for 5 minutes and how either I didn’t hear her or I wasn’t there, blah blah blah. That’s not how you talk to a customer. And as I tried to explain to her before she so rudely interrupted me, that’s NOT the status notification you’re supposed to send if you knock and no one comes to the door like she claimed. Simply put, she behaves like a scumbag. So I asked the woman to hold the package at the post office, since I wasn’t going to be home to sign for the package the next day, and she agreed. So I went to the post office in the morning the next day to pick up the package, and they tried to claim it wasn’t there after like ten minutes of looking. They said someone would get in contact with me when they could locate the package. I had asked them to hold it there on the phone. So they couldn’t even do what I asked them. I’ve been trying to call them now all morning and they haven’t answered the phone once. I’ll avoid them at all costs from now on.

I have an Etsy shop and I ship my handmade items through USPS to my customers. I've had a few of my packages go missing here. I started to go to the Beltsville branch, and never had that issue for years (even during Covid, had delays, but never lost a package).
It would've been nice if I could go to this one College Park, because it's within walking distance. But can't take the chance on losing another package. They don't really investigate and just tell me they send it off to the warehouse, but so does the other branch and that's never been an issue there. It's strange that the packages just disappear.

Margo was a great assistance. I really appreciate everyone at the College Park office from those in the store to the postal carriers! They live up to the slogan "whether rain, sleet, or snow" they're always there!

Awful service, the lady didn’t attempt to help with anything and was too lazy to check the computer and give me estimated pricing.

Severely understaffed. Sent an envelope via certified mail and it’s been “in transit” for 20+ days. Idk if they lost it or what but this is a gross display of tax payer $ at work. Not to mention, I stood in line for 20+ minutes. Very disappointed and I wish I never made the stop to mail something at this location. If you have important business, avoid this USPS location at all cost.

This is a GREAT unit, a hidden gem, my new fave since Bladensburg went handbasket-tripping.I love the USPS but making it harder to get everything at every unit is ridiculous. Install mailing machines at more locations, plus at grocery stores, 7-elevens, etc., and efficiency would leap. Fix automated bulk sort from the shipper's docks to your mailbox finally and it would be even better, but we can go over that another time.

Poor service. Front desk service needs to learn manners. My package is missing for a week and dam care. On my continuous request for Supervisor. I was given wrong number. The lady asked me to contact driver! How would a customer know the driver phone number? A lot of people had same issues with service!
