it’s with much regret that i feel i have to give briarcliff apartments a 1 star rating. i wanted to live at this apartment complex for years, i looked at it when i was looking for my first apartment but at the time i did not income qualify. now, 7 years later i have moved into my apartment at briarcliff and to say the least- i’m beyond dissatisfied with how my maintenance issues have been handled.
let me start by saying i myself am a property manager, so i am not at all new to this rental process and how things work.
the lease here states that work orders are completed within 72 business hours of placing them. when i moved in there were several things wrong in my apartment, major issue was the garbage disposal not working however, a small issue like a closet door coming off of the track took them 2 weeks to come and fix. when i stepped into the rental office to speak with a manager, i was first met with rudeness by one of the leasing agents. she told me to sit down and wait because since i did not have an appointment the manager would meet with me whenever she was available. I sat down and waited. I had no problem with this. Another leasing agent came rom the back and asked me was I OK and had i been helped, instead of giving me the chance to respond the other leasing agent told her oh no she’s fine, She doesn’t need help.
then the leasing agent that moved me in also walked past and said she would be over to speak with me momentarily, however again before i could respond, the same leasing agent said she doesn’t need help she’s waiting for a manager. i let her know that i could answer for myself and she began an argument with me. very unprofessional.
when the manager finally came out from her office and spoke with me, she let me know that due to air-conditioning issues, Regular maintenance orders were being delayed. she assured me someone would come out the next day, and he did. the garbage disposal was fixed but i was told that my garbage disposal, dishwasher and a/c were all “on the same line” so the breaker may trip if all of them are running. which doesn’t make any sense to me but ok.
about a week later the air conditioning in my apartment was not working.i checked the breaker, it did not trip. so i called the emergency maintenance line around 7 pm. it was 90 degrees outside. I placed my work order and was told the emergency tech would contact me shortly.
i waited and waited, i could not cook dinner for my children as the apartment would just get hotter. around 10:30 pm i called the emergency line back, i was told that most likely no one would come or contact me that night.
i waited until the next morning and called the leasing office at 10 am.
i was told by a male leasing agent that my issue was not considered an emergency, which is why no one came out to my home. i stated that it was 90 degrees and he replied that he “doesn’t know what the temp was” when i called and that i could’ve opened a window. i almost want to say LOL because …. what?
i would’ve AT LEAST had my on call tech contact the resident and say hey this is not an emergency however we will respond first thing tomorrow morning. by 10 Am no one had called me or come to my home to check my a/c. i’m very disappointed with how things have been handled, i had such high hopes for this management company, this is just a devastating reality.

Briarcliff was a decent place to live mainly based on location, my apartment was on the second floor and had soooooooo many rodents, I wouldn’t recommend this place based on that.

Briarcliff Apartments East is a great apartment complex. It is very well managed, meaning the mgmt office is responsive, the maintenance is top-notch, and the grounds are well-kept. I also really like that it has concrete block construction, so it is much quieter than most apartments and is also fire-resistant. Oh, and my apartment itself is very clean and comfortable.

I moved here in 2022 and I have no complaints! This is a nice, peaceful, quiet, and safe neighborhood that I would highly recommend putting at the top of your list if you are looking to move. The people in the leasing office are very helpful (I originally lived in the ground level apartment and they worked with me and let me move to a second level apartment in the same building!), maintenance is super friendly and amazing with getting repairs accomplished in a timely matter, and I love that I never hear what’s going on in my neighbor’s apartments (I believe the walls are sound proof, they have a description of the walls in the leasing office for you to see)! I might hear someone walking up the stairs, but I never hear anyone yelling or tvs/music blasting. And the location is perfect when it comes to grocery shopping, going out to eat, and you’re about 15 mins away from Towson if you want to go to the mall. I love it here and I just signed a lease to live here for another 2 years. Not leaving this place until I’m ready to buy a house!

I have been a resident here since 2016 and I just cannot leave. I love everything that this property has to offer. The spacious apartment, great amenities, outstanding maintenance and extremely quiet as it’s the only property in the area that has concrete between the walls. Every maintenance request that I have submitted has been taken care of in a timely manner with efficiency. Additionally, the grounds are always kept in great condition. In instances when we have encountered bad weather, the maintenance crew works literally overnight to ensure the safety of the residents. Outstanding! Nothing in Cockeysville can compare to Braircliff Apartments. Thank you.

I have lived here for 7 years and still love it. When they say you can’t hear your neighbors, it is true. The maintenance staff is amazing. And, all I have to do is put my trash outside my front door.

I’ve only lived here for a few months, but I enjoy it very much. The area is kept very neat and clean and responses to maintenance requests are quick and well done. The only thing I don’t like about these apartments is how close we are to the bakery!

Receptive staff, we were having issues with package theft and the staff responded by installing security cameras. Spacious as well so much better than the other apartments around the area
