We'll run place. Everything looks clean and in order. The staff is young but surprisingly friendly. The people tend to camp out at the machine they're using and that makes it unavailable to anyone else who wants to use it.

Reducing my review from 5 to 3 stars because 1. The mirrors in Studio 1 were removed and 2. The coat hangers are gone. 3. Aerial yoga classes were discontinued.

I went to the Columbia Gym as my typical Columbia Association pool is shut down for routine maintenance. I was doing lap swimming and a father and two children came into my lane. I almost ran into the one child as not only can you barely see in this pool they were dead stopped in the lane. The other child I came within half a foot of collision with as he walked down the side of the lane.Both myself and another swimmer who was having similar problems in another lane talked to the lifeguards who said this was acceptable as the other people in the lanes were to one side. So they allowed them to swim in the lane the entire time. In addition, another lap swimmer got into my same lane and could only access about half of it further making it even more of a collision course.As a former lifeguard myself and frequent lap swimmer I have never seen this allowed in any pool. Had I not been doing a forward stroke someone could have easily been hurt as lap swimmers typically swim at considerable speed. In addition this pool is very high in chlorine so you can not see more then two feet in front of you.If the lanes are to be used recreationally that is OK but consider ensuring there is a reservation system so it is a dedicated lane as this is very dangerous.

Columbia gym is dirtiest gym I have ever seen in 3 continents. It’s overpriced (6 times more than PF), it smells all the time, the equipment are over 10 years old (lookup old gym pics on Google to see for yourself) and there’s only two bench press tables!!To be fair, employees are nice and respectful.Location is convenient which is the only reason I gave it a shot but now I’d rather drive 20 minutes to the closest PF. Check out Ellicott City PF; brand new equipment, airy, bright and clean.

!! Boys consistently dashing into ladies shower room !!Great neighborhood gym - close by and convenient. Facility is up to date. However, there has been violation of policy in the women's locker room. I've noticed way too many incidents of boys WAY older than 3 years old (ranging from 7 - 11 years old) dashing into the shower room where ladies are taking a shower.This has been notified to the staff member and manager himself multiple times.1. First time when I had enough and told the manager, he convinced ME to understand his situation. But, this is why they have family locker room in the first place.2. Staff would not directly confront the issue right away when mentioned. It feels like this issue is ignored and not taken care of properly.This simple policy should be taken care of seriously for ladies privacy. There are teens and young girls in there too!Do not convince the girls and ladies to understand dashing boys into our locker room and instead, enforce this simple policy!!

I thought I would share a tid bit of d i s g u s t i n g behavior by one of this company's personal trainers who doesn't pay her assessments but threatens managers when the board posts notices on doors for delinquent accounts before turning them over for unpaid assessments. This woman not only threatens other managers (see photos) because she doesn't pay her bills but then posts n a s t y false reviews.Paying your own bills is the owner's responsibility, and no obligation by any company to send notices, it's a courtesy, not a requirement.Melanie McKibbin who doesn't pay her HOA fees in another community, then threatens the manager after the board reminds her of her past due $500 account balance and this is how these people talk to others in the same industry?Melanie is a h o r r i b l e human, who doesn't pay her bill and then goes to post reviews. So, I am sharing her h a t e, and reviews, on her own company page to show other customers to avoid this place like the plague. Her words speak volumes about this company and its employees.Enjoy the photos!

We visited this gym to see what was available in the area. Kathy helped us out. She was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She told us about all three of the Columbia gyms, the amenities and options available to us.She went above and beyond, found of what we like and arranged for a class for my husband to take.Columbia gym has a very positive community vibe and we look forward to visiting it again.

We've been members of Columbia Association for about 3-4 years and love it. When I'm healthy, I go 4x per week, mostly Body Pump and Yoga. The whole family goes, and everyone who works there is wonderful. Great instructors for the classes, great people behind the counter, and great everything. Very happy with everything.

2 things marred my experience: 1) they shut the pool down mid-swim because some kid vomited. That’s not the problem, but the fact that the kids’ AND the lap pool share the same water is the problem. No other pool I’ve been to does this. 2) No clean towels in the mens’ locker room. If you’re gonna provide towel service PUT SOME TOWELS IN THE LOCKER ROOMS! I had to run out naked to get a towel. Other than these problems the place is good.
