Great experience! Dr. Wray is kind, patient, knowledgeable and funny! Reception staff was also very friendly and helpful. I came in as a first-time patient and admittedly I’m still a bit clueless about how insurance works, but the staff were so patient and understanding. Beautiful and clean facility. Highly recommend!

I’m a long-time patient at this location and have, for the most part, been satisfied with my previous experiences. I’m not sure if they are under new management—definitely had a new optometrist. I went in for both contacts and glasses. Ultimately, things worked out fine, but there were a couple of glitches. I have progressive lenses and astigmatism, so my needs tend to be more complicated and expensive. I used my insurance towards the cost of my contacts and then wanted to have new lenses made for my frames. My complaints are with how they tried to upsale me on all sorts of extras for my lenses. Perhaps some people really want the ultra thin lenses, anti blue light business, and protective coating. I don’t and found I really needed to check my receipt and push back against getting these things. My second complaint is about the $149 contact lens fitting fee. As a long-time lens wearer, this is complete thievery because I was getting the exact same lenses. The optometrist “fitted” me using my current lenses. I never received a “trial” pair. I realize that both of these are typical and common practices, no matter where I would go. My last frustration is that when I received my glasses with the new lenses, there was something off with one of the lenses and it took two trips and a lot of extra time for folks there to FINALLY believe me and redo the lenses. I have them now and they are fine, but disappointing that there was so much feet dragging about this. Next year, I will be going someplace else :(

I had an unpleasant experience with some eye doctor in Germantown so I stopped seeing doctors for a few years until my eyesight started to deteriorate. I went to MyEyeDr. in Friendship heights and they're absolutely wonderful. The staffs, especially "Allison" is so friendly, kind, professional and compassionate. They all have excellent customer services. I feel at ease and took my time selecting the new pair of eyeglass with Anthony. He helped me pick a good pair of eyeglass. I also feel very comfortable with Dr. Wray. Overall I like this place a lot . I recommended this place to my colleagues in the Town Office and everyone. We will be seeing Dr. Wray from now on. This place is very clean, and at a very convenient location with free parking spaces, surround by restaurants and places to shop. A great place to check your eyes and getting a new pair of glasses.

I had a frustrating experience with Dr. Lynette Wray and MyEyeDr. I scheduled an appointment for 2 p.m. on January 25. The office called me two days beforehand to say they couldn't honor my appointment and asked me to come at 2:40 p.m. instead. The later time wasn't convenient, but I accepted it to avoid having to postpone my annual exam.I arrived on time but did not see Dr. Wray until 3:35 p.m., 55 minutes after my appointment time. She offered no apology and rushed through my "comprehensive" eye exam and refraction in less than five minutes. I pointed out that I was due for a dilated eye exam. She prevaricated, implied that she didn't have time to do one given how behind schedule she was, and ultimately said I could postpone it for next year.Setting aside the lengthy wait, I don't feel that I got the care that I requested or needed. I'm also skeptical that they performed all the service needed to bill for a "comprehensive" new patient exam. It certainly was far less thorough than exams I had at my previous optometrist. Worse, I can't use my annual vision insurance benefit to get the care I need from another provider.I'll avoid this practice in the future. I came away feeling like they were more interested in churning patients than providing quality care.

I visited MyEyeDr. Chevy Chase to get a simple glasses prescription. The prescription was wildly inaccurate. I had to come back three more times to get new prescription because everyone thereafter was inaccurate. This led to months of blurry vision, headaches, and missing out on life. My college finals, wedding, honeymoon, and start of work has been blurry thanks to MyEyeDr’s incompetence at their job.

Dr. Renu Mathew and the office are awesome!! Very welcoming environment and Dr. Mathew answered every question and went above and beyond to find solutions for issues! Shoutout to Anthony as well for awesome service throughout purchasing contacts and sunglasses. Awesome staff overall, will definitely be returning for future appointments!

Sorry to say that while I think Dr Raja is a great professional and gave excellent advice, he has now left MyEyeDr. And more seriously, when I had a recent emergency - sudden development of blurred vision - I called MyEyeDr twice to ask for an emergency appointment. Both times the staff answering the phone could not advise me on whether an emergency appointment was available, and both promised I would get a call back to advise me, that never came. So I conclude that this service is unreliable, and can’t be trusted to provide the right level of care or advice in an emergency.
