Stopped in for the first time in a long while (thanks covid -__-) and was surprised to see such a clean, well curated boutique-like atmosphere. The most pleasant aspect of my visit was sales associate, Robert. He was delightful and charming, highlighting several beautiful items (made me want to purchase ALL of them and more). Kudos to BP for a particularly nice fall/winter collection and such good judgment in upping your in-store game.

Dang! Never thought I would end up writing a one-star review on Banana Republic. But, I'm a true Yelper. And, a true Yelper spills the tea on the good, bad, and ugly! Let's start with the good... Love me some Banana Republic! What is there not to love? Let's start with the inventory. Their apparel is the epitome of the two C's...Classy and Classic! Can't say enough good things about their fab website...a bevy of styles, sizes, AND BARGAINS. Haven't shopped at any of their brick-and-mortars in years. However, on a whim, I decided to check out this particular location. Store was well-organized. Great selection in the women's and men's departments. The bad? The customer service was disappointing. As a matter of fact, it was downright disrespectful. Upon entering the store, I didn't get one "Hello" or "May I help you?" from any of the three team members. Mind you, they were standing right next to the entryway of the store chit-chatting away. Had the audacity to look me straight in the eyes...and not say one damn word. Then had the nerve to continue their conversation. Didn't have time for me! But, they had time for the white lady that walked in less than five minutes later. All of a sudden the chit-chat stopped. The group of three dispersed. One of the team members couldn't offer assistance fast enough. Said team member almost tripped over himself trying to get to her! Hmmm... What a shame. As a stickler for good customer service, this didn't sit well with me. After looking around the store for a good ten minutes, I left. Wasn't about to spend one red cent here. Safe to say, I won't be back. Side note: This store is located in the heart of Friendship Heights. Noticed several stores in that part of town have gone out of business. Have the honchos at Banana Republic noticed? Just saying!

This store was robbed mid December 2020 and as the thieves were making a run for it loaded with merchandise, an employee grabbed onto one of the sweaters that they were stealing and the thief turned around and punched her right in the face! I can see anyone acting on impulse trying to stop something bad from happening (any decent human being) that you do not stop to think of the consequences or whatever you were supposed to be told to not to do… The worst part of all of this is that I also heard that the employee after being punched in the face, was FIRED! How heartless can an employer be to fire someone who was fighting to protect your stuff? And you do it 2 weeks before Christmas and during a Pandemic! When you should have recognized/compensated the level of loyalty/balls your employee just showed you! If a large corporation will not stand by its employees, I will not be shopping there ever again… facts can be verified!!

Great little store. I do feel bad for the workers as they have to put up with some snobs from Chevy Chase. I was getting help while someone else kept interrupting. They wanted all the attention. I had to tell the customer to back of as I was getting help first. So 5 ? to this Banana for being patient with some of these entitled folks

Friendly & clean shopping experience. Banana republic makes really soft cotton clothes that last forever! Higher quality than most clothing stores. I love this location.

I have shopped at BR for over 25 years. At every store (NYC, SF, Miami, Orlando, Northern Virginia, etc, etc.) I have always been impressed with BR's customer service experience. Today was the exception that broke that general rule. It appeared that the staff didn't get along and that was transferred to the customers (at least me and my wife). It took three different people to find a pair of pants (it was in storage but only one person actually went to look). No one at anytime asked if I needed assistance in the dressing room. No one said hello or good afternoon (small things that are important). The saving grace was the final person that checked me out who put in a bit of extra effort to find out if I found everything that I was looking for. I will definitely just shop at the Georgetown, Pentagon City or 13th Street stores from here on out.

This Banana Republic is tucked away next to a Gap that's much more visible from the street. It's organized like most any BR, but guys, it is SMALL. In fact, I'm quite certain this is the smallest Banana Republic I've ever been in, and I've been around the Banana block. The men's section is the upper right quadrant of the store, by the entrance...and that's it. All that said, I was able to get in and out quickly with a great sweater and pair of gloves. Fitting rooms had no line, which was nice (also expected on a Sunday in Friendship Heights), and the cashier was friendly. Not a bad little spot, but don't expect the larger selections that you'll find at other locations.

Five stars off the bat for the wonderful customer service that was given to me. I came in returning a item and the woman at the register was so helpful and very kind. She even suggested a competitor ( Bloomingdales) to me for stockings BR did not carry.

Just wanted to take a min to compliment sales associate, Daniel, who made my shopping experience SO great! Wonderful personality, helped me get an awesome discount by signing me up for a new Banana Republic card (mine had expired). He is a gem! Take great care of him, BR!!!
