I've had my two antique fans serviced at Chestertown Electric for years. I've also purchased several early lamps and ceiling fans which the owner had already rewired and restored. The owner's work is meticulous. This shop is a little gem. If you're interested in renovating an older home to period or would like to add character to a newer build, this shop is a true find.

Dave does an outstanding job with restoring and selling early 1900's electric fans, telephones, lights, and other devices. He is a great resource for these and the history behind them.

If what your looking for is fine antique lighting, fans and so much more then this is the right place for you. They have a fully functioning display room with items ranging as old as the early 1900s. This shop is extremely clean and well put toghether. I learned so much about how older electronics worked and how well they were built versus now. I highly recommend this shop.

A very unique store. Small, but filled with interesting and very nice items. The owner knows a lot about early household electrical things and likes to share stories of each item. He seems to do very high quality restoration work on the antique fans, lamps, and phones that he sells. The front room is like a museum. Lots of old things that work like new. A pretty 1905 lamp. A 1911 brass and cast iron desk fan that blows a lot more air than a modern fan. Piles of old switches and wall outlets. Hanging from the ceiling are some very nice looking ceiling fans from the early 1900's. The back room is the restoration shop. Chestertown Electric did a very meticulous job rewiring an old lamp that I had been afraid to use. They installed a solid brass socket that looks and feels much better than the original one that my cat broke off. It's a block off the main shopping area of High and Cross streets. The store is open at odd times. Friday evening and Saturday midday. If it's closed, ring the door bell.
