“If you are considering this hotel, you are looking at either location or price. While this is not a luxury hotel, you do get good value for your dollar. The rooms are nice and the location is easy access to the freeway, the base or the metro station depending on where you want to go. The drive into DC is about 20-30 min without traffic and about 45 with traffic, so not too bad. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and there is a nice continental breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again if my travels took me back to the area.”

“This is a new area built around a fun walking experience around the hotels. It's full of shops, places to eat, bars and fun things for the kids. Pets are allowed outside to walk around. There is a live fish market that is neat to see!!!”

“Having been a Member of this particular club location for about 6 months now, continue to have my expectations exceeded in every way. Once you use the club in some form, you will fully understand what I mean. No Hyperbole on my part, having been a City Club Member for a number of year's, other club member and inveterate national & world traveler, as well as a foodie/now informed home cook.”

“as a dc wedding photographer I have photographed a handful of weddings at fathom gallery on 14th street, and I have to say it's one of my all time favorite venues. it's a bit smaller, so weddings with fewer guests are the perfect fit for their space. the surrounding area is always really dynamic and provides a unique urban vibe for couples ig @iamthesam”

“Just had an event here on Sunday and when I say this place will be My Place! The professionalism was on a million. Seriously. The gentleman who handled everything literally made himself so present. There wasn’t anything he didn’t do. Set up, break down, made sure my attendees were good. You can tell he loved his job and that’s important when it comes to an event space. The attitude of the staff can really help ease the day of jitters, that we all get as event planners.I have been telling people about MPK since I left. It was easy to book, the parking was plentiful, the facility was so clean, a major PLUS. The AC worked, another plus. And the event went so smooth, thanks again for everything! See you soon”

“Parking took 45 minutes. In the Garage, once you go to the top of the garage the only way down is to leave. The Theater was outstanding with polite ushers giving directions. It was clean and had excellent acoustics.”

“Great place to work if you don’t have to be in the office, meet friends or mingle with members of the 4th estate. The second level is reserved for members only and their guests, so if you’re not a member, find a friend who is.”

“Studio 52 is such a hip & trendy space! It's so versatile to be your dream venue! It's in a great location for guests to get in and out of DC easily. You'll definitely want to check it out!”

“Our event was moved to this venue. Cozy theater with historic charm. Would have been five stars except we arrived on time and they let us wait out in the cold for 45 minutes while they worked out their "technical difficulties."”

“Took our Greatniece to lunch after visiting her local school for “ Grandparents and Special Friends Day.” Our 4th-grader is very interested in history - especially the Revolutionary War period, so it was her request to eat at Gadsby’s Tavern. We visited the museum first (great visit, thanks Julia!) then walked next door to enjoy lunch. Shoutout to Abby, our server, for giving the PERFECT answer to the young lady asking, “Where did George Washington like to sit when he ate here?” ?”

“Very pretty, but unclear what there actually is to do there. Pretty little walk, pretty garden, but I don't think there were any buildings to go into, and no interpretation that we could find.It was nice! Especially in nice weather. Maybe not worth a drive on its own, but if you're going to Alexandria anyway, it's a nice quick stop!”

“We held a combo Lunar New Year party and one-year wedding anniversary event at Mess Hall DC for about ~40 people and it was spectacular! Working with Al and his team from start to finish was great. Al is super responsive, helpful, and was committed to helping us realize our vision for this event. He gave me helpful recommendations on vendors (we hired a food truck to cater the event and the served food to order at the fully equipped demo kitchen / prep kitchen set-up in the event space) that he trusted and had used in the past and was on site for our whole entire event. The Mess Hall Team were fantastic all night, especially our super cool bartender that Al helped to secure for the evening for our open bar. I cannot say enough good things about the venue, Al, and his entire team. If you're looking for a unique space for your event in the DC area, then definitely check Mess Hall out!!! All of our guests loved the space and everyone had a fun evening together.”

“I was here for an event and we walked up to the rooftop. You could see an American flag with the US Capitol building behind it. It's quite a good spot for political-related events. After the speeches and stuff, we took a short walk to the actual building. If you are in DC and can get this spot, I'd go for it.”

“I attended an anniversary party there not long ago. They were celebrating one year of being in business. It's a great place to rent for any number of events. However, parking is not great because it's located downtown DC.”

“After a venue cancellation issue due to construction, the Whittemore House came to our rescue with 3 months to go before our wedding. The venue is an awesome place to explore, photograph, and enjoy with any event, and the WH team was great to work with. They have a beautiful garden and receptions rooms. Would highly recommend!!”

“Excellent food, attentive and kind staff, if seemingly understaffed, and a great overall location. Definitely great to get some filling and good food in the area, or get great happy hour food. The atmosphere is good, but excessively loud indoors — I only eat outside now, but the outdoor space is somewhat poorly heated by space heaters in the colder months, and can be somewhat messy at times. Overall, a good staple in the area.”

“Great food overall. I really enjoyed the fried chicken and it was nice and crispy. Collard greens were amazing. Smoked chicken wings were off the chain. Our server was very attentive and ensured our needs were met. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“I was truly blown away by how delicious every single dish at The Study was. As a Guatemalan, I found the creative use of Latin American ingredients and flavors in the unique dishes at The Study not only interesting and creative but also familiar and nostalgic. I love it when food takes me to a happy place. Chef Tomas Chavarria and chef Madeline Guzman can really create magic in the kitchen. Some of my favorite dishes included the kalbi ssam short rib lettuce wraps, the sweet plantain empanadas, the Costa Rican ceviche, the duck magret and achiote, the tres leches, and the coffee flan. I also loved the seasonal cherry blossom-inspired cocktail and the mocktail they prepared specially for me. I really loved the ambiance, and even though I had dinner here with friends, I think this is the perfect restaurant for a date night or for celebrating something special.”
