The prices are fair and they are usually stocked well if you shop in store. I often do curbside pickup, and it's much less reliable, but they pack the groceries well and are very nice when loading up my car.

Re: the pharmacy. The ladies at pickup were kind and polite. However, the woman manning the drop off station, which I assume is the pharmacist, needs a few professional development days to be retrained in customer service. Simple smiles, greetings, polite behavior goes a long, long way. I tried filling a prescription and was met with a stern “we don’t have it” in reference to the med on the paper script. I was handed back my script and she walked back to her computer without any further information. I understand sometimes meds aren’t in stock etc however there was plenty more to the story that she decided that me, the customer, wasn’t privy to without further questioning. So as I asked my clarifying questions, I was met with even greater rude responses. Now, this pharmacist could clearly see we don’t fill scripts but maybe once every two years because she pulled up our account. That’s important when handling these requests because clearly this med is important due to a procedure. It’s not a monthly med or something, although I believe she should still be kind when handling those requests as well. I think it’s important to look at customers as people in need, esp in the pharmacy department. Something like “I’m so sorry, we don’t have this med in stock and we actually haven’t had it for two months. You’d be hard-pressed to find it at any pharmacy actually because it’s been on back order. I would call your doctor and see if they have another med your husband can take.” Imagine a world where someone was trained to give the bad news, explain the bad news, and then give a semi-solution in a professional and polite manner. That’s the training she desperately needs. Perhaps there’s no time to be polite and provide further detail to the customer? Yet I watched this woman chat it up with an elderly man twice, smiling and laughing while I panic-called every pharmacy in a 20 mile radius asking if my husband’s pain med was in stock. So clearly she does have the ability to be pleasant; I just wasn’t on her list of people that deserved that today. Please retrain her. We will never use your pharmacy again, but for the sake of others, she needs to implement a softer demeanor and a surge of customer service in her interactions with other humans. If she likes being a pharmacist, great. But she should NOT be customer facing; she should stick to tapping away on her computer all day in the privacy of a closed office. She was miserable in her interactions with me. I’m sure it’s all on the cameras if you’d like to review it. Happened today at 5/14/24 at 3:35pm.

The person in the bakery obviously could not spell David and tried to squeeze the “v” in. When it was brought to the persons attention they walked away and said buy another cake! Something like this is all it takes to never ever purchase a cake from Giant in California, MD again.

High prices, too much stuff and an old building. They have about 1 or 2 too many isles which makes all the isles super close together. Then when you come out of a isle, your running into stuff or people as there's no room between the isles or the registers and displays either.
On top of all that, the vibe as soon as you park is that your back in the 90s. The parking lot is old and faded, and so is the sidewalk. Then when you get inside, you realize, so is all of the fixtures and floor tile. It feels old.
Then the worse part is when you get to the self checkout, not only are the prices way higher than other places, the registers themselves are from the 1980s and are junk. A place that charges over ten bucks for a bottle of ranch has no excuse not to have some cash registers from the 21st century.

They almost always have what you need. And in the rare times when they do not have what you are looking for they will put forth the effort to get it for you.

While pricey..what I can't find elsewhere is usually here. Plus..abd this saves me driving time..they carry organic foods to some extent. So that is a plus. You can still get a real person to check you out, at the Giant..a plus!

Great grocery store! Clean, organized, and great sales!! They are really good about marking items down for clearance and sometimes extraordinary deals can be had! I'm usually very happy with the pharmacy as well for the exception of one individual! Overall I really enjoy this Giant Food location!!
