I been going to this practice for over 7 years. My daughter does not cooperate well with any doctors. It took us years for her to trust her doctor and let her do exams. We can’t go to any other doctor and they aware of it. I called the office Friday morning to make an appointment because she is very sick and I was told they don’t have anything available. I explained the situation with my daughter and kindly asked to ask a doctor to fill her in. The answer Was NO. I am myself working in medical field over 20 years and we never told any patients to go somewhere else. If the office is open you have to see your patients as an emergency this is part of your job and being a doctor. Very disappointed. I also had issues to get rx refill several times. My recommendation find another healthcare provider who would care about you.

Can never get an appointment scheduled, claim to be booked for sick appointments all the time. Better off going to urgent care instead of wasting time.

Our family started going to the Brunswick office a year ago and was very impressed with the level of care they provide. The doctors, nurses and staff are amazing. Our lab work was even taken care of in the same office. Genie who took our lab work is the most amazing and caring person you will ever meet. She did an excellent job. Very pleased we started coming here.

They failed to get a message to the doctor for a prescription I needed before a trip for work even though I gave them 24 hours. The prescription was for a cough supressant for a residual cough I had leftover from a bout with bronchitis which is excacerbated at 38,000 feet. I suffered for 6 days in the aisle because of their lack of communication. Earlier, when I had the bronchitis, I had to drive to their office, sick because I needed a small change on paperwork, but the admin was too lazy to look up my chart and kept me on hold until I was cut off. I always had to chase after them to check on them to see if they fulfilled a request. She never called back to follow up. Their overall incompetence and ignorance of anything outside the 9-5 workweek bubble is astounding. They're so provincial it's sickening.
Update: These idiots are still sending me reminders, even though I left them in June, yet they fail to communicate when an automatic refill is rejected. So much for the "first do no harm" thing. This practice cherry picks the hippocratic oath.

This review is for Miss Holly, the “manager” whom I spoke with. I’ve been coming to this practice since I was 15 and I have never felt less heard in the medical field.
A few weeks ago I called in to request a referral to see my gastroenterologist. At first I was told that it was not possible to grant a referral without scheduling an appointment to see my primary provider at least once a year. This is understandable, however the receptionist I spoke with guaranteed me that she spoke with my doctor and they were going to grant me the referral without an appointment since I had already seen my Primary Care provider multiple times for this same issue. (AND SHE’D ALREADY SENT ME TO OTHER SPECIALISTS, SOME OF WHICH DO NOT TAKE INSURANCE AND WERE TWO HOURS AWAY.)
I called about a week later to ensure that the fax was in fact, sent over and was assured by the same providers that this referral was going to be sent so, that in the meantime I was able to schedule my appointment with my gastroenterologist after waiting about a month for my Medicaid to kick in.. This is all after about three years now of dealing with chronic pelvic pain, belching, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea and constipation, brain fog, bloating and reoccurring yeast infections as a result of what I expect to be a Candida overgrowth in my gut.
I drove an hour and a half to be at my gastroenterologist’s office this morning to be told that the referral was never sent.
I figured maybe we just needed to send it over again, so I call my primary care doctor to be told “This was never sent over. We can’t schedule you without scheduling an appointment first.” I tried to explain and was denied any referral.
I then asked to speak with management, because being that I may face a $150 no-show fee, and they’re the ones who told me I was good to show - they need to cover it. That is only good customer service. That is only fair.
I am put on the line with Miss Holly, whom off was very willing to cut me off several times while I was explaining myself and my situation. Generally this is when a good customer service representative would listen. She seemed to have no sympathy for my situation, not that my appointment was pushed back two weeks, not that I missed my appointment today. She never apologized, not for anything and not once at all for her team’s miscommunication. I didn’t hear a change in her tone until I told her I’ve been dealing with discomfort, pain, etc. many other symptoms that I am currently dealing with every day and I desperately need help.
Only then did she lower her voice and then we started to take turns speaking.
As someone who’s lived in Brunswick for about 7 years now and who’s out good faith into this provider, I am very disappointed purely with how this was handled. I hope this was a learning experience for the both of us!

I've been a patient at FPCA's Brunswick-Jefferson Office for just about 30 years and have loved every minute of it. I have never once had a bad experience with any person tied to these two locations. Every doctor, PAC, nurse, phlebotomist and receptionist has been just wonderful. I would remind the naysayers below that every human being has a bad day every now and then. Please don't trash a great medical practice over one or two bad experiences. The entire medical profession is as stressed out as is possible to get. We're all very lucky to have medical care at all. Post-COVID, we should continue to thank all of our medical professionals as often as possible. They are true heros, especially at FPCA, one of the very few medical establishments still independent of Frederick Health!

Receptionist is rude and unkind. Sounds like she hates her job and should probably not be in customer service.

Don't answer their phone and regularly provide difficulty with service. Help when actually provided is good.

I’ve been going here for 4 years now. My doctor is very sweet and attentive and I did like her. However, we had a fundamental disagreement about my health plan. I cannot blame her for practicing her western approach but it caused me be on birth control for over 3 years completely unnecessarily. I later received external information on how to actually heal my body rather than prolong the problem and I was able to heal my chronic condition on my own, despite her assurance that birth control was the only answer when I repeatedly mentioned how much I’m against it. The reason why my rating is so low though is that they sent me to a debt collector because I refused to pay for an appointment I did not have. Despite me going back and forth with the staff through countless phone calls, I am now being harassed by a debt collector for not paying a $30 copay for an appointment I was told could not happen. It’s been 5 months since this problem emerged and it’s still not resolved.

Two months after my fiancé‘s doctor departed from this location she received notification that her doctor had left. It was odd they waited 2 months to notify her. She called to confirmed that she could still come in as a walk-in for Covid test because your coworkers tested positive for Covid. When she was asked if she is a patient, she explained yes and who her doctor had been. She was then refused. I would never recommend this place to anybody in search of a new medical facility.

Absolutely appalled at the level of "care" James Fleming provided my family member. Without care, there's no healthCARE... and this concept of treating patients with respect, knowledge and compassion is something Fleming failed to do. Fleming prescribed multiple medications to my family member without researching the effects they had when taken together... are Drug Interaction checkers not a thing this doctor uses? Highly recommend avoiding this so to speak "doctor" unless you want to get told to meditate and to go to church to solve all your healthcare related issues.

The nurses and doctors are incredible and so caring. Jeannie is a saint. The receptionists, however, are the rudest people I have ever met in my entire life. I am so glad I can schedule online here because it causes me so much anxiety even thinking about speaking to the receptionists here. They are truly just cruel to patients.
