I called ahead of time to let them know my dog was wobbling back and forth. I was so scared as she never had anything like this happen to her. This was at four in the afternoon. They were quick and kind caring for my fur baby and me since I was a bit emotional from worrying. I am thankful for their swift care for her. She's home with us resting and the doctor asked us to come back first thing in the morning for some more fluids. And finally to receive the results of her bloodwork.

I understand the 1- star rating on this hospital if you can call this a hospital. When you step into this hospital your bill will be at least $300 no matter what treatment you get. I bought my dog Chardy to this alleged hospital late last year because she was not eating. You pay for x-ray to him but make another payment for them to send the x-ray out to be read. (Really) and this is a hospital. My dog was given a shot that made her eat one meal and then downhill from there. I had to rush her to the emergency room at District Vet on H St. NE and after their test results, I was told her organs were shutting down. This was after paying Brentwood a day earlier $500 plus. They take your dog in the back without you and then they come with the high- end bill. You don't know what is going on behind closed doors. You go to any other vets and you can stay with your animal. You may be charged for things that may or may not be done behind closed doors. I used to bring my dog to him years ago and I stopped because he doesn't connect with the animals. I bought my Yorkies there for grooming and was charged an extra $20 for teeth brushing that they didn't get nor was it authorized. No getting your money back but we will credit you. Don't get me wrong the staff is super most of them. This is a make as much money off the customers, as you can business. The customers that gave 5-stars make you go hmmmm!

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and helped me cut down my bill and discuss my options. It was my first time here but I plan on coming back with my cat in the future.

The staff, techs (I don't know their official title), and veterinarians are all friendly and kind. They take the time to explain to you what's going on with your pet and are patient when answering questions. Vet prices are crazy around the district but I have found Brentwood is reasonable and fair. They even discuss prices and treatment options before sticking you with the bill. I am a regular and I recommend this pet hospital to other pet owners all the time.

My wife took our cat here because our neighbors dog had bit our cat pretty badly. We were given a estimate to which it was not respected and started getting charged for a bunch of extra stuff we didn't need. We were on a budget and we denied any of the extra services they were throwing at us. Even then, the extra charges came on. When asked to speak to the manager it's as if they had their worker speak on behalf of them the whole time. Why weren't we able to speak to them directly? Also , a very rude technician by the name of "Mark" handed us our medicine and made the most insensitive remark. We asked if the cat needed the medicine to try and keep our cost down and replied with "yes if you don't want your cat to die" in such a rude manner. Pretty heartless considering we took our cat there because HE WAS dying. It's concerning for somebody like that to work in a place for animals when it suppose to be a place to treat them with love and consideration. Overall , unprofessional and such a bad experience. I wouldn't recommend coming here if it's a emergency because they're just going to make you feel worse.

Once again, I found myself at this magnificent veterinary hospital where only the best medical services, customer care, compassion and know how are ALWAYS rendered to both your pets and the pet parents. I have a 15 year old kitty cat named Daisy. She is a real character who is very feisty and spicy to say the very least. I inherited her from a friend at age 11 years and for 18 months I could not pet her and for that period of time, I endured scratches and bites but didn't give up. I am the only one who can pet her now. Well, I brought her in for anal gland expression and dematting because I still cannot comb her. Because of her age, sedation was out of the question per Dr. Manzoor but being the brillant doctor that he is, he recommended administering gas and oxygen combined. Dr. Mazoor checked on Daisay every 5 to 10 minutes to insure that the sedation process was on key. Rachel who is one of the vet techs and Eric the senior vet tech were assigned to my darling but rather very feisty kitty spent an hour or two working on her anal expression and dematting her. Eric is an excellent tech who administered her sedation with perfection and Rachel, instead of shaving her spent an hour combing all of her matting out. They also did her bloodwork. Needless to say, Daisy was challenging. She ripped off her muzzle twice, escaped off of the table and had to be caught, scratched, bit and clawed them but, inspite of the torment that they both experienced, Rachel and Eric never gave up. Rachel called me several times with updates and explained what was medically needed to complete Daisy's visit. Dr. Manzoor also took the time to speak with me several times. They are amazing techs and just amazing human beings. They could have just given up and said can't do it. But, this is the great customer service that you will experience at Brentwood Animal Hospital. They don't give up on your pet or you. Of course, Daisy would not have even gotten to the hospital if not for Michael, the Practice Manager. You see, I am a senior who walks with a cane and on my way to upcoming hip surgery. Michael came to my home and picked up Ms. Daisy, got her settled into her kennel, set up her up with food, water and a litter box and a comfy blanket and bedding. And, this was after hours on the day before her appointment. Michael is a caring, compassionate and might I say, very knowledgeable man!!!! When I have questions or concerns, I can always call him with my fears and concerns. Of course, I can do the same with Dr. Manzoor, as well. And, to my surprise, I have had the opportunity to meet the newbie, Johanna, the medical receptionist at Brentwood. She is an amazingly helpful, kind and caring young lady who embodies excellent customer care and service. The practice is super busy and she handles her responsibilities with grace and know how. She is an absolutely great addition to the Brentwood Animal Hospital family. So my take on Brentwood Animal Hospital is, if you have a sick pet, need excellent medical advice and care or just general check ups and vaccines, boarding or grooming, taking your pet to Brentwood Animal Hospital is a NO BRAINER!!!!!! You will be pleased, your pet will receive the best care ever and you will be treated with the utmost professionalism, customer care and compassion. So don't walk to Brentwood Animal Hospital, RUN as fast as you can. You won't regret it!!!!! Your forever grateful client and the fur babies say thanks, too. Sheila Westerfield

I strongly do not recommend this practice. The vet is a crook. He is incompetent and a charlatan. I took my dog to his practice because he was sick with vomiting and diarrhea. The vet charged me $1500. He ordered the wrong labs, prescribed the wrong meds, and a load of unnecessary nutritional supplements. My dog's condition worsened and I had to take him to the ER where he was properly treated and now recovering nicely. TRUST ME! don't go to this practice unless you have money to waste and you don't care about the health of your pet.

Avoid this place like the plague. It's chaotic. The staff are unprofessional. They are confrontational. And they are dishonest. I had brought my cats here multiple times. Every single time I visited, I noticed that other customers were having a loud dispute over billing with the veterinarian Dr. Manzoor, or with his reception staff, or with his office manger "Michael." It was always the same complaint - the customer was initially misled as to the price of the veterinary services. The whole operation seems like a grift with different staff members playing "good cop, bad cop." And Dr. Manzoor publicly berates his staff members, which is unprofessional. Something is clearly rotten in Denmark in this place. The written invoices themselves are rather opaque and often inaccurate. The final straw was when I brought my mother's cat in for a bath. The cost ended up being over $300, which was not the original price cited to me. My mother's cat was over-sedated during the procedure, and could not walk straight for more than three days. Also, when I picked up my mother's cat, it took 20 minutes for the staff to locate him! And they even brought out the wrong animal (a dog!), instead of my cat. Essentially they had mixed up animal names. It's always like this - bedlam and chaos, followed by open recriminations among staff. Moreover, when my 70-year old mother called by phone simply to ask a few questions about the invoice, "Michael" the office manager suddenly and without provocation screamed at her. She was only asking for more specifics concerning the opaque invoice. But this is what they do - they routinely bully patients and scream at them, as a form of intimidation. I have witnessed this multiple times. In conclusion, stay away from this practice. Brentwood Animal Hospital overcharges its customers. It is the most chaotic veterinary practice in the DC area.

Took my dog here because he needed medical attention. After visiting this office twice they couldn't fix what was wrong with my dog. But they are great at upselling products. I spent more then 700 here just for my dog to not fully recover. Took my dog to a different hospital and they took great care of my dog. They told me the previous doctor didn't do a thorough check up on my dog and didn't prescribe me the correct medication for him

My dog has been coughing and sneezing to the point where I had to get her seen. Since I'm fairly familiar with this place, I came here. Seems like this hospital can be a bit overwhelmed at times. It only seemed like the vet was in the back with my dog for 2 minutes before coming back to "tell me what's wrong" $1400 went down to $300 in exams and meds Vet seemed extremely nice and knowledgeable but a little pushy. Where he said I could take my time to think about things, but he was also a bit loud where I felt like I HAD to make a decision about spending thousands of dollars or not. Damon was sooo helpful, I think he was an assistant. Walked me thru the medication names and what they were useful for and to help me make the best decision to make sure my Dog gets healthy.

From a vet visit to a police call. We went in for an appointment because we wanted to change vets due to a pet insurance change. We submitted all the history for our pup with all the vaccinations and information for them to review. Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor came out saying he had administer several vaccines to our dog without asking if we were in agreement. We realized that they gave him vaccines that were not due for him yet. When we try to talk to Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor about the situation he got upset and started rising his voice. We requested to see our dog ad have him back but Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor refused to hand it over instructing his staff to take the dog to a separate room. He said that if we didn't pay he would not release our dog. We replied saying it was not about money that we would pay but we wanted our dog bag and them to understand that the situation was wrong. Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor he even called someone from his staff to kick us out from the office. We felt threaten because of how the situation escalated the police had to intervene after a 911 call was placed. Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor was not careful with the treatment and was not polite, respectful or reasonable with his clients. I want to be very clear that the staff was always calmed and they had nothing to do with the problem, the person that is supposed to lead them and instruct them is the one who created the unsafe environment. NOTE RECOMENDED AT ALL. BAD PRACTICE ALL OVER WITH THAT DOCTOR IN CHARGE. It is a shame for the good people that does work there under his guidance.

My experience with a first visit with my new puppy was okay. I expected to have more of a personal experience with the vet, but I suppose the interaction I had with the technician was good. I am still not sure I will return as a regular customer because I just did not feel warm and fuzzy with my interaction with the vet and the receptionist was definitely not a friendly people person. As the first person to greet you, her demeanor was such that I wanted to turn around and leave. If I give this establishment one more chance, I am hopeful my experience will be better.
