Coming here was the worst decision I could have made for my car
I arrived on a Saturday morning, the only issue I had was problems with acceleration. After a multi-point inspection, REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID LEVEL was flagged as something to address at a cost of $199.99. I declined the service but agreed to having them reprogram my transmission and rotate my tires. I picked up the car that evening, stuck around another hour or so to test drive an ARIYA and talk to finance. While driving off, I noticed a humming sound I never heard before. At first I wasn’t even sure it was coming from my car. When I finally realized it was, I decided to call the service shop first thing Monday morning (they are closed on Sundays). I told them of the issue and brought it back in. I reminded them that there was NO HUMMING OR GRINDING SOUND before dropping the vehicle off the first time.
I was told the humming was due to the REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID LEVEL and now the rear diff needed to be REPLACED at a cost of $3,859! How could a problem grow from a fluid level recommendation to needing a full replacement IMMEDIATELY after leaving their center? Despite the service manager (who was very nice) trying to convince me that these things just happen, I simple could not accept that this was a mere coincidence. So I got second opinions.
I took my car to another mechanic who looked and saw no signs of oil leakage from the rear differential. I then took my car to a Jiffy Lube to see if replacing the oil would make the sound go away, and they told me THERE WAS HARDLY ANY OIL IN THERE.
Now, I’m not saying the service department drained most of the rear differential oil out, which caused the grinding sound that I experienced IMMEDIATELY after leaving their facility, a sound that I had NEVER heard before, but if there were no leaks, and no grinding sound before I brought it in for service…
The shame is that we have been a loyal Nissan family for almost 20 years. My parents are on their 4th Nissan and I am on my 3rd. We’ve always been happy with service departments. I’m at a loss, either I pay thousands to fix a problem that didn’t exist before taking my car to this service center, or trade it in for another car and accept a lower trade in value because of an issue that, again, did not exist before.

I had my car serviced in Nissan Bowie, and I am not happy due to my advisor only sent me a text informing me that my car service was completed. I only seen the advisor when I brought the car in, not when I left at the completion. I had to ask another advisor where is my advisor, to be informed that they left for the day. My car issues were never completed nor do I know Why!!!!!!!

1) I had to keep reaching out to my service advisor for updates.
2) The service took a lot longer than expected.
3) Service advisor called later to request my signature/authorization for a pricing adjustment about a couple of weeks after the work was completed.
4) Two days after my service was completed, I had to place my car in the shop because of a clanking noise in the rear. My rear control arms and sway bars needed to be replaced. If the Nissan shop did an inspection, they would've seen this.
This experience didn't leave me feeling like I want to return to this service shop. From the advisor to the mechanic. Frustrated.

They are always so busy. Plan on them having your car for at least 24 hours. Ask for everything you want done at the same time or else they will not complete it if you call back to add something (like adding an oil change on top of other services already being performed). They do a good job fixing the cars though. Nice lobby area too. I like that they text you the progress of your vehicle, but their internal communication is lacking. My car was done according to the text, but after 2 more hours (after my car had already been there 2 days) I had to call about my car. Still took another 1.5 hours to get the shuttle even though I live less than 20 min away. The service tech didn't seem to know my car was done and had been sitting there for over 2 hours. The shuttle drivers have always been nice and friendly. I also like that you can sit inside the model cars inside.

I had a great experience having my Nissan Altima serviced. It was in warranty and Rome Williams made sure that I did not have to pay for the repair and filed the warranty claim for me. He communicated with me during the whole experience. They also fixed the other recall items on my vehicle as well. I would recommend.

I have been a dedicated customer of Nissan of Bowie for 12 yrs. Today is my last day having my car serviced here. The new owners have decided not to honor my contract for service & did not notify me when they opted out of my agreement. I will be looking to replace my car soon & I won't return here, and I no longer recommend Nissan of Bowie to anyone. It's a shame because I have always recommended this location, but no more!!

If you are not extremely knowledgeable about your vehicle, I suggest you do not go here. And if you do decide to go here, you will be overcharged by about 50% from standard industry prices (if not more). They told me I needed certain repair work done and wanted to charge me $4500 for the various repairs. I inspected it myself, and was shocked to learn, and one instance that it was just a rubber seal that was starting to crack. It wasn’t even needed. They said oh well they don’t sell just the rubber seal, they have to do the entire steel assembly. Obviously did not need that work. Another one was that they wanted to replace my rotors along with my brake pads. I chose custom rotors and put them on myself a few years prior and I knew they were in perfect condition. When pressed about it, they told me oh well we don’t replace just the brake pads we only do the brake pads and rotors. Obviously nonsense pressed further and they said it was because I had slotted rotors so they wouldn’t do just the brake pads. Told them no then they changed their mind and said they would do the brake pads. And they wanted to charge me an insane amount of money to put on new windshield wipers. They just slide on and they wanted to charge me over $100, not including the parts. There were several other “critical repairs” very similar to this. Do not go here. Also, I am on my second hood latch for my Nissan Pathfinder. It once again is not closing and locking shut. I brought it in for another recall on the hood latch, but was told that they do not fix the primary locking mechanism. The recall was only on the secondary lock. That is the one where after you open your hood from inside your vehicle, you slide your hand under the hood to open at the rest of the way. So I obviously left without a working hood lock mechanism (I’m able to manually make it work after using a screwdriver or something to poke it into place each time). That is more of an issue with Nissan not doing proper recalls on nonfunctioning hardware. The technicians that you deal with our more like salesman than anything else.

Prompt courteous service! My experience purchasing the car a few months ago and for it's first regularly scheduled service has been excellent.

Normal service, time to complete your service is to long and cost is too high. But I'll happy my 2016 car still run well. Except two day later I had to put air the tires. It would have been nice if someone would have check the tire pressure. Plus vacuum the car.

This Nissan dealer is the absolute worst!! Don't waste your time coming here , the service advisor Ashley is extremely unreliable/incompetent as well as the service lane manager Rome Williams who's great at coming up with excuses as to why your car can't get the services it's been needing for months now. It's always an excuse at this place. They will lose your checks, no one's ever there to detail your car, forget about the person that's supposed to replace your rims b/c no matter what day they tell u to come in for a replacement HE'S NEVER THERE TO REPLACE THEM!!! And idk if Ashley suffers from memory loss but if you go to her with multiple concerns she won't even remember the NEXT DAY!! She will say that she will handle the concern but won't even put a note of it anywhere!! If your trying to find Nissan dealer pls look elsewhere!!

Disappointed with my interaction just recently in speaking with who may have been a sales associate, I was transferred without being told the department. I spoke with Dawn, who I asked about the rental car process and was immediately shut down without her even remotely attempting to find a solution. I explained to her the website has inaccurate information, no apology, just flat out "we don't do that" more and more I am finding the dealerships in my local area are truly unprofessional and not interested in assisting potential buyers...so much for supporting in my community . The reason I reached out to the Bowie location is because they popped up once I entered in my zip code. please do better Nissan. You just lost a potential buyer due to poor customer service .Simple formula :Girl rents car Girls falls in love with car Girl buys car!

This place is fishy and seems full of scams. Came in for a recalled part a little over a year ago and waited for an hour and they said it was fine, yesterday I started smelling burning when driving so I took my car in and they said it was the recalled part. Said the recalled part was no longer covered because of their policy and that I would have to pay $1800 to fix it even though it was a previously recalled part. (Even though they said it was replaced mid convo on the phone???)Said on the phone it would have taken 5-7 hours to replace the part when I had been there the first time but I was only there for an hour and let me go. Seems like it's a great place to get scammed. Good ol' pg county for ya!

My AC went out on my '11 Nissan Altima and I was worried how much it was going to cost to repair. My vehicle has been well maintained by a dealership that is no longer open. I took my car to Nissan of Bowie and let me just say this. My Service rep Sherika put me at ease. She was very thorough and detailed. She told me it would take 4 to 5 days to get the job done. She quoted me a price; ordered the part; and completed the repair in less than 24hrs. My out of pocket was less than quoted. Overall the Service; Workmanship; and patience with a new customer was impeccable. Nissan of Bowie comes highly recommended for any of your Nissan service work. Hats off to Sherika for providing exceptional customer service.
