I was not a fan of Harris Teeter when they first opened, but they have really gotten their act together, I found myself thinking when I was in a hurry and deciding where to shop, ".... but if I go to the Harris Teeter, they run their cashiers and front-end "tight" and get you out faster than Giant...." that's quite a compliment for a customer to think that about check-out of a store, not a fan of the set-up design of Harris Teeter check-out though, but Giant leaves you waiting while their employees talk to each other, when they aren't even busy, Harris Teeter puts Giant to shame. I've seen some issues w/customer service at Harris Teeter, but Giant is worse by far. I find Giant so horrible that I was shopping at Safeway at Fairview before Harris Teeter opened up at Marketplace... I think Harris Teeter regular prices are a little too high, just like Giant and Safeway, BUT, Harris Teeter sales are GREAT. I find that my grocery bill is MUCH lower shopping sale items at Harris Teeter (and Safeway sometimes too) than Target or Walmart that don't have sales on their groceries like Harris Teeter and Safeway.... I don't like the refrigerated egg section of Harris Teeter because I've gotten eggs ruined from being frozen more than once. I like being able to grab old coffee grinds to compost from Harris Teeter Starbucks. I have grown to really like many of the employees at Harris Teeter, very sweet and caring and helpful. Join their club for gas discount points at BP, and clip ecoupons to use when you use your club card at checkout, totally worth it.

If you are going to have Starbucks in your store then train them. The coffee I ordered yesterday was horrible. It didn't even remotely look like what I ordered. It basically was an iced hot chocolate. I order chocolate cream cold brew. No chocolate cream just a cup of chocolate. The lady in front of me from the looks of it received the same.Their Harris teeter employees that you rotate to Starbucks and some don't know how to make the drinks. Since Starbucks wants to raise prices on drinks then I should receive what I ordered

Every now and then I do some of my grocery shopping at Harris Teeter. I was able to find everything I needed and I picked up a few items that caught my eye.

Let me start by saying that this is by far the most expensive grocery store in our area. And I also want to clarify that this review is largely based on the experience shopping in the store. Ordering online and picking up has been a great experience. The staff for this is lovely. Shopping in the store...not so much. They are often out of what I need, or don't carry it, and the staff is polite, but unfriendly and seemingly disinterested in making customers feel welcome. This is surprising based on the high prices. The tiny checkout stands which seem typical pf HT are also a mistake. Such an unpleasant option for in store shopping that we drive to Whole Foods in Annapolis whenever possible.

Nice store. Expensive if you dont buy items on sell. Deli is nice but other than thec fried items and pizza. Seafood very expensive and not much of a selection. Prices high like Wegman's. The pharmacy's drive thru dont take certain cards so you might have to go inside. Self check out is faster. If you buy a lot of items and go through regular checkout they are very slow because they take each item out of the cart not use a conveyor belt. When the store first opened the store was great. Now prices are high. No ususlly in the store aisles to ask questions. Seafood section customer service is great.

Horrible customer service. There was a long line at customer service and workers just walked by without coming to help. The Starbucks are out of a lot of things but there's no sign saying it. Out of lids for hot drinks. Out of sandwich that was displayed on the shelf. So I ordered my drink cold with saying "no ice". When I got my drink, ices were in it. I told the barista i would like my money back. She referred me to the customer service. I stood in line to get my money back and workers just took their sweet time helping each other. Btw, when I finally got serviced, food shopped and paid, I walked by the Starbucks. The sandwich they were out of is still displaying on the shelf. Not impressed. Do better, Harris Teeter.

Great pharmacy but lately they are no longer answering the phone. I can understand the demand for vaccinations but the pharmacy should be staffed enough to answer the phone calls. I am not able to come into the store every time I have a question.

The management have to do a better job of scheduling People for the deli sandwich area. Stood there for 12 mins on 4/11 around 3:30, no one came by to offer assistance or greetings. Tho there were people doing other things like going in out of taking items to the self service isle and placing Chicken in the rotisserie oven, it seems servicing a customer waiting for a sandwich was not a priority. I ended up leaving and getting a sandwich elsewhere. Management should either cancel the service or properly schedule folks to work that area .

I stopped by Harris Teeter earlier today since I was in the area and needed something to help with my congestion. Let me say that Holly, the in-house pharmacist, has provided the most awesome and professional service. I even called her to ask a question after leaving and she was so kind and gave me great information. If I stayed closer I would switch grocery stores. Thanks Holly you are super!!

I frequent this store at least once a week for my free item that they offer VIC customers and leave with much more. They have great sales on select items; however, you have to get there early or they'll be sold out. They will give you a rain check for sale items though. Their produce section could use some work, but the salad bar and pizza station are pretty good. The employees are courteous and helpful. The check out lines are reminiscent of Trader Joe's with you and your cart parting ways, but it saves you from having to put your food on the conveyor belt. Overall, a great addition to the Bowie area. Competition helps the consumer.

I was disappointed that the produce was not that fresh. Meat selection was good as usual. I intended to make only one trip to the grocery store now I'll have to go to Wegmans to finish my shopping for produce that I know will be fresh. Also, there were only 2 lines open at 5:30pm on a Friday with long lines of customers while employees were walking around. GET IT TOGETHER HT!

I really enjoyed shopping here as the store had a lot of quality grocery which I didn't find at other stores. However, the main downside is the check out which becomes a bottle neck situation considering that there were few staffs and lots of customers. However, the staffs are topnotch. May I also add that their pharmacy section is very well organized, and the pharmacist was very knowledgeable, and answered my questions with great intellect.

I happen to be a Wegmans kind of gal but this Harris Teeter really wowed me! I walked in and immediately I was in awe. This place is clean and well maintained. Not to mention, this place is huge!!! My first stop was definitely Starbucks. I also noticed that they have an Asian station and a pizza bar! Staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't walk pass an employee that didn't acknowledge me. I was highly impressed with their vegetarian section. I hate when I visit a grocery store and there is one freezer with a few of vegetarian options:(. I found a lot of the items I usually get and I managed to snag a few newbies. I also signed up for the rewards cards to save a few coins on my next visit. Will I be returning? Absolutely! Sorry Wegmans, but this gal has a mistress!
