The prices at Afrik International Food Market are very reasonable, making it a fantastic destination for those looking to explore African cuisine without breaking the bank. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of their products, which allowed me to try out a variety of items without hesitation.
The quality of their meat and fish is exceptional. The freshness and variety of the products available truly impressed me. Everything looked so appetizing, and I could tell that the store takes great care in sourcing their products. Moreover, the store itself is well-organized and clean, creating a pleasant shopping environment.

I came in here to find work and she made sure I understood how to get something done with it.
I really appreciate her approach to her position. Especially understanding I come off in an unusual way at times.
Everything was very well kept and the employees and customers are seemed to be in better than usual spirits. It was a pleasurable experience.

“Can't complain. Prices have been going up but that's everywhere, not just here. The stuff I get from the bakery and produce section are typically in good shape, and the selection overall is great. It's a shame they need the anti-theft measures that they have, but again I can't blame the store for that. Giant satisfies my grocery needs quite well.”

Nevertheless at the time of writing Giant need to be more price competitive.
Basic foodstuffs seem comparatively expensive. e.g. bread, baked beans etc.
Some candy very good value for money.
Watch unit costs on all items.
Several large quantity items are sold at a higher unit cost than smaller quantities including some of the candy.
Everything available but shelf stocks in all local grocery stores (not just Giant) are still not as high as pre-covid.”

“Always, always buy my gas here. Safety in numbers, and attendant presence. It's always about .10¢ cheaper than gas outside, if I shop and purchase selected items, I save more.”
“I've lived in Bowie 10 years and continue to return to this Giant. The staff is always lovely, helpful and cheerful. I appreciate their prices and selection even with two higher end grocery stores nearby. Also appreciate all they have done to keep things moving throughout the pandemic.”

“I was not a fan of Harris Teeter when they first opened, but they have really gotten their act together, I found myself thinking when I was in a hurry and deciding where to shop, ".... but if I go to the Harris Teeter, they run their cashiers and front-end "tight" and get you out faster than Giant...." that's quite a compliment for a customer to think that about check-out of a store, not a fan of the set-up design of Harris Teeter check-out though, but Giant leaves you waiting while their employees talk to each other, when they aren't even busy, Harris Teeter puts Giant to shame. I've seen some issues w/customer service at Harris Teeter, but Giant is worse by far. I find Giant so horrible that I was shopping at Safeway at Fairview before Harris Teeter opened up at Marketplace... I think Harris Teeter regular prices are a little too high, just like Giant and Safeway, BUT, Harris Teeter sales are GREAT. I find that my grocery bill is MUCH lower shopping sale items at Harris Teeter (and Safeway sometimes too) than Target or Walmart that don't have sales on their groceries like Harris Teeter and Safeway.... I don't like the refrigerated egg section of Harris Teeter because I've gotten eggs ruined from being frozen more than once. I like being able to grab old coffee grinds to compost from Harris Teeter Starbucks. I have grown to really like many of the employees at Harris Teeter, very sweet and caring and helpful. Join their club for gas discount points at BP, and clip ecoupons to use when you use your club card at checkout, totally worth it.”
“I love Dollar General I was introduced down South and they could be a little cleaner and better, I know they are short staff. The manger always there and helpful if ask. Maybe the owner should see what can make it better. Don't blame staff.”

“Probably the most organized Shoppers in the area. Customer service is not so great - which is the case at every Shoppers. Aside from the customer service - I actually enjoyed visiting this store instead of the Target next door.”
“Try not to get to much, prices are on the higher end but still reasonable. Most of the meals are good, especially when just cooked. Produce is ok and fruits are usually good.”

My server Sham was amazing she was very attentive and had a great recommendation for the food. The beer was cold BJs was a little vibe. Definitely will be coming back to this location.”

“This market does exist and the staff are very nice and friendly. The entrance to the market is on the back side of the building, BEHIND the hair braiding business. I highly recommend visiting the store.”
