“Very professional and great communication!! I have been taking my Porsche to dealers and a private place in Va for the past 2 years without having issues fully resolved. I wish that I discovered CJ Foreign Car Service earlier! Eugene was great answering questions before my appointment, and during my appointment for an oil change and engine work. Eugene and his team was able to resolve my ongoing problems and the car runs like new! Very competitive, fair pricing which is better than other local shops and dealer.Services: General repairs & maintenance”

“I reached out to Takoma Auto Clinic with an urgent need for my car. I am new to the DC/Maryland area and was desperate to find a new shop to take my car last minute. It would not start two days prior to holiday travels and I was in quite a bind. They were able to take my car in and provided timely and thorough service, even staying late the day before to make sure the repairs would be done in time for me to have my car for my travels. I was provided excellent and detailed information about my repair whenever I called for an update. I feel I was charged fairly for the complex repair needed. The customer service was kind, respectful, and empathetic over the phone. I will definitely be returning for future inspection and repairs!”

“I needed some suspension work done on my 2007 BMW X5 and my brother in-law who owned BMWs for many years recommended Einstein's. They did a great job, at a reasonable price, and were pretty fast. Communication was great as they were prompt with providing recommended service and status updates. I also appreciated that they were honest about services that were worth doing and those that were not worth doing (based on the age of the car). Finding a BMW repair shop that you can trust is very important because these cars become money pits the older they get. Having a shop that will look you in the eye and tell you that something is not worth the money is important for me. The guys that work there are really nice and knowledgeable. If you have an older BMW I would definitely recommend them!”

“Bob came highly recommended to me by my boyfriend’s mother - I came all the way from La Plata, MD. Bob and his son were nothing short of being God-sent… wonderful! Honda auto shop tried to charge me $1000 xtra for the same service! Also, Bob and his son found that the Honda dealer basically were going to rip me off in general for a new water pump and coolant (which wasn’t needed). That’s right! Car Dealerships are charging people for parts that don’t even need to be replaced, and completely not mentioning the parts that actually need replacing! I needed a new AC compressor (per Bob) and Honda completely failed to mention that. Bob took care of me like a father would! He felt horrible that Honda did this to me and he fixed my car within 24 hours. When I came to pick up my car, his son lifted my hood and showed me exactly what was fixed and why - he was so knowledgeable and kind. If you want HONEST work, FAIR affordable prices, and a job WELL DONE, look no further. You’re in trusted hands here at Branch Ave Tire & Auto. Most importantly, my 2010 civic is now driving like brand new, after years of taking it to Honda and their never acknowledging the cause for my car shaking (AC compressor/belt). They’d instead find a bunch of other issues with parts that in hindsight probably didn’t need to be replaced. Save yourself the money and the troubles of going anywhere else but here!LOOK NO FURTHER!!!”

“I've hired Dan/APA for several services for my classic Chevy over the past year. Whether it was for a safety inspection, tune-up, or the upgrading/modification of my suspension, Dan went above and beyond the required minimums in providing dependable, reliable service. In addition, Dan has made himself available on numerous occasions for me to ask service related questions, and provided advice on fixing many issues for myself. I recommend him and APA without hesitation for anyone looking for a professional, dedicated mechanic.Services: Steering & suspension replacement”

“They've maintained our Corollas for several years, and we've been happy with them. Especially when we had to take our cars in during COVID - they had glass and masks. They also allow for after-hours drop off, which is very convenient for those of us who work well past 5 PM. The online estimates make things very convenient, but they never try to push service on us, while explaning when stuff really does need service. The downside is you have to call them to make an appointment...lately my husband and I have not gotten confirmations from that, but aside from that, they are communicative when you do need repairs.”

“Moshe is the best! I made the mistake of coming in and saying what I thought was wrong based on my Google searching. Moshe called me about an hour after dropping it off and said the thing I though was wrong was completely fine but the it was something else. He was completely upfront on pricing and what my car needed. He made me completely comfortable as a woman dropping my car off. He actually cares about your car and wants to make sure you get the best value.”

“Very knowledgeable and thoughtful about recommendations for appropriate and least cost for repair. Miguel volunteered a series of progressive options to fix A without B and C, versus A with B and C, versus A and C only, etc. that is, the customer develops a well-formed perspective on the nature of the work, especially with regard to the basic common elements of the repair, so that saving are possible through “à la carte” selection. We wanted the hood repainted, but without blending to the other adjacent panels, and a second unrelated cosmetic repair to the rear quarter panel area. Also, we had a strict budget, so the à la carte options allowed us to assess whether our goal was attainable at the required price. In my experience, this sort of estimate is difficult to obtain, because most auto body repair shops seek a restoration to “good as new, with respect to age of vehicle” that requires extensive blending of paint far from the region of actual damage; also, some customers may flinch at the notion of disclosing the budget, but we did not feel any sense that the shop was using that information to our disadvantage. To be clear, there is no doubt that Miguel and partners have a strong sense of personal excellence to do the very best job, and the à la carte option that I describe does restrict their ability to accomplish “insurance-grade” repairs. However, for voluntary repairs (as is our case) we simply wanted some items fixed that were NOT the result of an insurance-reported collision (for example, the hood is starting to lose paint for this older vehicle, and we want to forestall future rust damage). We want the paint to “match”, but we are not concerned with blending to the other panels. We have no intention of selling this vehicle, so we are not interested in preserving or maintaining the blue book value. Ours is an uncommon perspective, and a repair shop generally avoids this sort of request because (I suspect) there is a high risk that the customer’s expectations will not match the outcome (that is, a naïve customers’s response at pickup could be, “well, I know I requested no blending to the other panels, but I thought it would look better than *this*…”, which would lead to a dissatisfied customer and, subsequently, an erroneous erosion of the shop’s reputation, were the dissatisfaction to materialize as a bad google review or even simply neighborhood chatter…ANYHOW…we made it clear to the shop that we knew the awkward position, but also demonstrated that we had à realistic expectation. Miguel wrote out a very detailed description of the work plan, for us to approve (this protects the shop *and* the customer, dig it?). Miguel was courteous, informative, and thoughtful, AND he brought up some obvious questions we had failed to ask. We left the shop with a very thorough understanding of the work plan, within budget.”

“I stopped at Tanzania auto repair when I needed an oil change and couldn't get in touch with my regular mechanic. I was able to make an appointment for the next morning. The work was done quickly, and priced fairly. It's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic, but Sheriff offered great customer service and didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. Much appreciated!”

“Great service and friendly owners/staff. Came in to replace some parts and got what I asked without being upsold on unnecessary parts/services. The prices are good and favorable when compared to other shops (being much better than chain store prices). The parking is a bit difficult as there is little to no space on the shop grounds.”

“I have used Interstate since 2005 and I have had all my cars serviced there, when looking for a mechanic, you want someone who is fair and honest and who can explain your issues and show you what you need done. Rob is a fantastic owner he does extra stuff that you may not get charged for, and if your part is no longer available, he will come up with a solution. The cost of parts is what it is and labor goes with it, but if you want a caring mechanic, someone you can build a relationship with Rob is your guy, I am a very satisfied customer, he is a very knowledgeable and a Pro mechanic. Remember if you want cheap prices you normally get cheap work, treat your car like it is one of your children and Rob will keep your car running just like a kid. In these days of the pandemic we all have to give back to get, give Interstate a try and you will not be disappointed.”

“The name Family Auto is quite fitting because this place is like family. I can remember taking cars here since I was a kid. We don’t take our cars to anyone else. The service and communication is impeccable. Jeff and his staff do such a thorough job of finding the problem and solving it instead of just guessing and they don’t try to squeeze extra, unnecessary money out of you. Family Auto puts a wrench in the stereotype of mechanics being untrustworthy because they are so honest, reliable and full of integrity. I had a problem with my car and Jeff kept searching for the answer until he solved it and he clearly communicated the delay in getting the necessary parts that saved me money. If you want reliability, superb communication and sublime service then I HIGHLY recommend Family Auto.Services: Transmission”
