It's just overall dirty and poorly maintained. It is also way too small for the number of members. Peak hours in the weight room is rough.
Location and access to the heated pools are the only reason I continue to be a member.

So I limp into the YMCA today (plantar fasciitis— bad heel pain) and suddenly told I’m not allowed into the gym because— get this!!- I’m wearing doctor-ordered special sandals that lift the arch and thus reduce bad pain. No sandals permitted insists Kim the manager. I explain — bad pain on heel and I’m exercising arms, obviously not feet or legs.
Too bad, she insisted. Those are the YMCA rules. A clever manager would have understood

We love it here but joined for the pools and the baby pool is full of bugs. Today my toddler said “help, help!” about the bugs, and the lifeguard literally scolded her and said don’t say that if you don’t need help. How about take care of the bug problem and don’t scold my two year old.

My Friends and I paid $25 per family of 2 for entry, and we felt scrutinized from the moment we entered the establishment. The staff appeared to be fixated on our children's every move, despite their well-behaved nature. Meanwhile, other children in the pool received less attention. The experience was unpleasant, and we do not plan on returning. The cost did not match the value, and the establishment's state was subpar.

Overpriced! Nice facility but 30 dollars US for a day pass just to use the dumbbells for a half-hour is absurd. I'd probably have some nicer things to mention but YMCA is gouging folk. I've been checking out a number of gyms in the area and day passes are averaging between 10 and 20 bucks for gyms just as nice as YMCA - some that are nicer! I'll be joining one of the nearby gyms but, on account of inflated entry fees, I'll not be joining YMCA!

Overall, I really like this Y. I do agree, though, with the reviewer who noted an increase in lifeguards harassing members and a “law enforcement” feel. Let members enjoy the pool in peace, please.

I would say just be careful with your bags. I lost the whole bag in the family bathroom. The house cleaning people reported as lost and found, but the management they couldn't track it. And they couldn't give it to me.

I joined this Y on February 2022 and it was a great decision. i'm giving 5 stars because:The pools are great. The water aerobics instructors are amazing. The facility is clean. The front desk staff is friendly. There many classes to choose from according to your level of fitness or interest. The monthly fee is very reasonable.

Totally in love with this YMCA. The gym is great and only a few minutes from my house. We take the kids to the indoor heated pool once a week all year round. The classes are great too and there are 3 studios for classes. I've used the personal trainers and have my kids doing private swim classes. They also have a kids club where you can drop your kids for free for 2 hours a day while you workout. They just redid the room and it's really nice with lots of natural light. You also can't beat the price!

I have the pleasure of visiting this Y several times a year and it's the best! I love how clean it is. All the staff are awesome and the jacuzzi is always hot. I highly recommend this location and if I lived closer I'd be a member. But in the meantime I will enjoy visiting several times each year.

Overpriced. Somewhat dirty. Front desk staff are variable. There is a new employee (Andrew), who is lovely. The rest of the staff members were awful. In sum, I paid over $30, as a "visitor" to swim. Thus, I was in DC for one week. And paid the YMCA well over $100 to to swim THREE times, in a sketchy outdoor pool, for under one hour each time. With dirty showers, rude staff (besides A), and crowded, dirty pools. You tell me if this is an ethical, kind-hearted facility.
